seems the command centre are taking a 2000baht cut per test
800b is most likely a rapid antigen test not a PCR test. The cost of PCR testing has skyrocketed due to the demand and availability of the raw materials.
In Australia they were originally paying the labs $27 per test that has blown out to nearly $100 due to supply costs then there is the labor for the staff doing the swabs too.

It’s past the stage now where a short lockdown will have any reasonable benefits. There is only pain ahead now with either a prolonged lockdown or more sickness and death. There is no 3rd option. Either way the new 500 billion loan will not stretch the distance in either scenario.
As usual it will be the average Thai that will needlessly suffer.
it’s time for the Thai people to rise against the ineptitude of the ruling Junta as they are now truly going to pay with their lives.- 1

I would call that a realistic assessment based on the data. Not a prediction.

Sorry to hear of your difficulties. Considering you had the work done by a prosthodontist I am very surprised they did not do root canal on all the teeth having crowns. As you can see now it is false economy to skip the root canal therapy prior to placing a crown. I have had extensive crown work done and all root canal performed as part of the whole treatment plan. It sound to me that you have an alignment issue that is causing pressure on your jaw.

Prisoners are not in the community hence are not considered community transmissions. 3232-435=???????. Quite clear from the info graphic.
Quite clear from info graphic that total case numbers are 3667 subtract the prison numbers of 435 and you get 3232 community cases.
back to school for you.- 1

2,797 community transmissions. Quite high official numbers. X10 and I think this would be a truer number. No testing then no asymtomatics found.
It’s 3232 community transmissions.

Sorry if I seem to be pedantic but isn't the median age of death half way between the oldest and the youngest death?if the youngest is 1 year old and the oldest is 99 isn't the median age about 49?Where as the average is the sum of the all the ages of deaths divided by the number of deaths? As in if the youngest is 1 year old and the oldest is 99 and most of the rest is around 75 to 80 years old wouldn't the average be around 75 to 80 years old?
The median would be total of ages divided by number of individuals

Put yourself in this scenario. You are a Bangkok Taxi driver. You have lost 70% of your income now there are no international arrivals, you are struggling to stay afloat and put food on the table for your family. You have seen the horrendous field hospitals with people squashed in like sardines. You start to show mild symptoms of Covid.
What do you think he is going to do ?

Add in the fact that people then travel and continue the covid spread into homes and communities as has been happening. I wonder what the true number is of folks not seeking medical care. It is enough of a concern here in Bangkok that it has already been discussed and brought forth at the government level. I will be waiting for the BMA to put squads together to go neighborhood to neighborhood to check on people.
Thanks for saving me the time and effort ????
If they keep on focusing all of their energy and testing resources on just these clusters, a wave is going to come up behind them and knock them down when they are looking the wrong way.
All of the division of numbers i.e. Factories, construction and prisons etc. is just an attempt at smoke and mirrors. Every single case is a case of community transmission regardless of where it happens.

"Electro box" is probably these fine transformers on the beach road in Chaweng, the photo is from before the took the hanging wires down – enjoy them here for a last time, they are good-old-days now – and painted a nice Samui-landscape on the "electro box"...
"Electro box" comes if different varieties, so you can always find one you prefers, and also in different sizes, which makes the sidewalk walks more amazing – wow, look at those good-old-time wires at left, we gotta miss them...
-especially during Covid-lockdown, as the street lights also disappeared together with the posts for the hanging wires – this night-time photo is from april 2021 – and be aware when heading home after a night in the town and wet after party, it's not the beach you are reaching, it's a landscaped "electro box"...????
Haha
no street lights now either. I’m sure there are concrete plans afoot to replace them. ????
Hard to tell but looks like the big box has just been plonked down right in front of someone’s shop or business? Or maybe former shop or business ????

It's just been announced over our local village broadcast that in our Ampaa of Patiew there have been 6 cases detected and of those 3 have died.Yesterday on TallGuyJohn's province update said that Yasothon had only 1 case so something very fishy going on.I will be very interested what the number for Yasothon is today Provincial update is.
Is that report for 6 cases and 3 deaths in a single day or overall ?

This seems too good to be true (for me to get back, not go there as a tourist)
I found a flight from Brisbane to Phuket in July for $761 (3 hr stop in Singapore) and 7 nights hotel can be <$400. Sure beats 15 nights ASQ prison for 60,000 baht ????
Here is how it all works
Now all you need is an exemption to leave Australia.

Just saw a report on SBS regarding new variant in Vietnam. Initial indications are that it is more highly transmissible than both the UK and Indian variants.
Not good news -

Can I assume masks are not the answer? 99.9% here wear masks, where are these huge numbers of infections coming from?
People taking off their masks when you are not looking. Like at home or work or when eating etc. They are only one line of defense but most of the masks being worn offer limited protection. Only properly fitted and leak tested N95 masks offer a high level of protection.

A poultry processing plant, belonging to the CPF Company in Thailand’s central province of Saraburi, was partially closed today (Sunday) for five days for disinfection, after 245 workers tested positive for COVID-19 during active screening.
According to provincial health officials, about 3,400 of the approximately 5,800 workers at the plant have been screened. So far, 765 test results are known and 245 of them were found to be infected.
Positive rate of almost 30% of returned results. I’m sure plenty of these workers have been out and about in their community.
