The exchange rate may be slightly better but when they tried to charge well over $100 for the transfer it raised my suspicions so I made the transfer from my offshore bank the very same day and ended up with more bahts in my account than Wise had quoted. I don't know how else I can put it - I got more bahts than using Wise.

Not in my case on the one occasion I looked at Wise, but each to their own 🍻

The only time I looked at Wise for an annual international transfer a few years ago, I actually got more in to my Thai account just using my offshore bank than I was quoted from Wise. Never looked at them since

When I did my annual renewal at Phuket Immigration in December they picked up that I had stayed in Ranong for a couple of nights and did not get an updated TM30. They asked me to contact my landlord and get a new one there and then. 🍻

Definitely RD incompetence. To try and get a TIN I showed her proof of two lump sums brought from offshore investment in to Thailand in the second half of 2024 and it looks like she just applied tax to those amounts despite the fact that I showed her only 20% of the total was 2024 income (investment profit). UK citizen but not sure that makes any difference. Trying to get a TIN because the hassle I had with this first company I disinvestment because I could not provide a TIN so thought it would be useful to have one for future disinvestments

Hi Guys Tried to get my TIN at Chalong Revenue Office. Took all documents needed (well, had to go back a second time with extra docs!) After 1/2 hour of answering questions and explaining things, the young lady tried to tell me I owed over 300k baht in tax! I tried to explain again that I only wanted a TIN so I could get my tax return in order and ready to file but that was met with blank looks all around. I thought you needed a TIN before you could file a tax return but I think she was trying to say they issue a TIN after they have received my tax return?? I was trying to avoid using an accountant as I have calculated my tax liability will be very low for 2024 but unless anyone has got any helpful ideas that might be my only option. Cheers

That "error in judgement" puts all other road users in danger. It was selfish and incompetent riding for which he paid the ultimate price. Sad for his family but when I first saw the clip a couple of days ago I thought another moron on our roads with no consideration for anyone else. Would you be so sympathetic if he had taken out a woman with a young child on a bike along with himself?

Is it true that they only count a fatality if the person is pronounced dead at the scene and do not count people who die in the ambulance on the way to hospital or subsequently at hospital from their injuries? Read that a few times in different places and am still struggling to believe it. 😱
