Its just a plan like zillions of other plans before that.

You need to realise that there is a new plan almost daily and none of the have a chance to becoming reality.

Have them fix Jomtien beach Rd first.....

The black sedan driver, Deputy Chief of Rayong Immigration office Lieutenant Colonel Tanakorn Nimmano

Not easy being a black car in Thailand...Now they even discriminate between car colors those bigots...

Good remark, very difficult, impossible, to know whether the car or the driver is black.... Anyway it's probably a bad timing to go to Immigration right now... ????

The 'Yellow Vaccination Book" is not an official document. It is only a record book for you to keep a record of your vaccinations. Sadly, I lost 2 back in 1997 when I was being a bad boy and got arrested. They were in my briefcase, which was put into 'storage' by the police, but was not there when I was released. No one in the past 25 yrs of traveling all over the ME & SEA has ever asked to see one.  It is purely a record book.

They do ask in some African countries.... Nigeria, etc...

As noted, the Vaccine Passport is only useful if the destination country has joined the Vaccine Passport Agreement. As I don't use Facebook, I don't know any further information given in the links.

But in the case of the two countries I wish to visit in the immediate future:
    1) Hong Kong  does not recognise any Thai administered vaccine, (and you can only enter if you are a HKID holder, which I am). So currently I am barred.
    2) UK does not recognise any Thai administered vaccine, and even prior to Thailand going on the red list, you would have to self-quarantine for 10 days. Now, because it's on the red list, you have to quarantine for 10 days at a registered facility. My partner, who is not a British National, is currently barred from entry to UK.

So in my limited examples, the Vaccine Passport is currently about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

    UPDATE:
As of today the HKSAR Government has said that effective 8 September it will now recognise vaccines administered in Thailand. (Plus those from: India, Malaysia, Pakistan and South Korea). Unclear about what the "proof of vaccination" is, but a Vaccine Passport is not mentioned. It states HKSAR Government will "recognise vaccination records issued by their authorities".

Not wanting to stir more than necessary, if UK was still member of EU the vaccines would have been recognized... Pfizer, AZ, etc...

Would have thought there would have been more feedback here now that the 2nd injections are underway ? Busy ? Best time to go ? Paperwork given ?

I posted what happened so far above... 2nd shot on the 16th.... Certificate, as mentioned in other posts, will be issued the same day.

There is no ' better time to go' ; You get the appointment upon 1st shot..Mentioning personal details, name and batch of Vaccine..... Nothing further to mention..

"This could also, notes TPN media, mean that a COE to enter Thailand for visitors from an embassy or consulate could be no longer needed, which would be welcomed by visitors and tourists."

Sorry, but I have a hard time to believe that'll happen this year.

Obviously everyone coming to Th works for an Embassy or Consulate....

Good luck, after many years someone at immigration told me that they consider only people with salaries above 80.000 baht.  I never found that rule on paper during my research. I know a couple people as well but they had a bigger company than me.

As you said in one of your previous posts only few people really know about it........So don't listen or read everything.... Just try and find out by yourself....

I think the rush on vaccinations all of a sudden would have something to do with the Govt. push to open Thailand completely by Jan.1 next year and ChiangMai by October 1

Theyre finally understanding the only way forward economically is thru vaccinations as countries like Canada, Portugal, Spain for example have done.

The vaccines will come…the majority of the population will vaccinate and there will be a light at the end of the tunnel! The rest will be forced to vaccinate when they want to travel or renew their visa etc etc.

Indeed, very likely, also possible the new proposal to allow ' only vaccinated' into restaurants, and the fact that some people need or want to travel. The enlisting for a new vaccine program for French citizens aged 18+ has started yesterday 06/09.

Les prises de rendez-vous s’effectueront à partir du lundi 6 septembre à 8h et dans la limite des doses disponibles.

La campagne de vaccination se déroulera du 13 au 20 septembre 2021.
