Are they? All of the places I would go to pre-covid are still operating. Supermarkets, shops, pharmacies, barber, mom&pop stores, home improvement, building supplies, etc. Some have even extended / enlarged / refurbished their premises. I do see a lot of places now closed and remember visiting some of them before, recalling the service nonexistent, the prices exorbitant and wonder that they even lasted as long as they did.

it's strange, because in bangkok drinks still can't be served.

also just yesterday all hotels in chonburi were officially ordered to close (more to do with the government covid compensations and dole for unemployed). But now, with everything opened, there might be a shortage of rooms over weekends. Hotels can still open, but have to inform authorities, possibly facing check ups and covid permissions.

All openings, even restrictions, should be done gradually, depending on assessing risks. Quarantine should also be shortened gradually, down to only 3 days.

There seems to be contradictory, unreasonable actions, which don't instil trust in the governing

As far as I read these permissions do NOT apply to BKK.

As far as I can tell, this is a Pronouncement from the Province of Chon Buri.  I haven't seen anything about the easing of cross Province travel.   Perhaps I missed that

I think you missed it... All provinces concerned except Bkk.

HSBC Singapore Premier account is only SGD200,000 which doesn't need to be sitting in a deposit account attracting 0.1% interest, it can be invested in unit trusts and bonds returning significantly more. Provided the relationship balance remains above the minimum there are no charges on the account or fees on credit cards.

Yes. But if I remember correctly you need a sponsor nowadays to open a HSBC account in Singapore?????

Yeah, it's kind of an odd place for it, literally out in the middle of nowhere on a stretch of highway where the nearest U-Turn (to get there if you are heading South) is just under 1.5 kms away. It's also about 1.5 km to the next U-Turn if you are heading North and want to go back to (Rayong or Sattahip).

Long ways to go for a coffee, unless you know it's there and make it a planned stop along the way.

    Indeed..

If you are heading down the 331 (towards Sattahip), it's on the other side of the highway, just before the new off ramp heading to the #7 Extension.

The google image is from July last year. I think they've made some improvements/expanded things since then.

On Google it's tagged as "331 Station - Coffee War".

I passed by there many times, I taught it was a workshop....

Am I missing something .... Thailand has a population of around 70m. So 50,000 doses would cover 0.07% of the population. Widely agreed that around 60% is needed for "herd immunity" so it's going to take a while. And we all know where the first 50,000 are going - not to front line staff but the top  50,000 wealthiest people in Government.

As an expat - I fear we may be a little way down the list and need to wait a few years.

Will be interesting if Vaccine Passports come in ... need a vaccine to go back to the UK, but can't get one in Thailand so stuck here forever !

    Mmmm....

Isn't that exactly what you wished for???:cheesy:????????

I might have a few interesting ideas on how to dress the serving girls that could spice it up a bit, but I am betting it won't be like that!

Will it be the same coffee shop as you can see in Amsterdam, because I understand soft drugs are allowed now in LOS.

    Or I'm wrong?

I think you are wrong. Only Medicinal are allowed...

There's a new development in this case. The person in question has come forward. He was scammed by a visa service agency which he paid $500. He isn't in prison, he's in quarantine and will be allowed to enter Thailand.

    https://www.thailandstidende.com/component/k2/item/4355-nei-jeg-forsokte-ikke-a-snike-meg-inn-i-landet

So .... It is more easy to prove being ' scammed ' than to pass a test???????

The stamped paper is simply the information the immigration officer uses to look up the online COE.

I assume he didn't think that the Immigration service computers and databases Worldwide are linked somehow

Anyone who is stupid enough to think the printed paper IS the COE doesn't deserve to enter Thailand.

You are right, it could work between NZ and Australia

the 2 countries being islands relatively far from any other country

so the frontiers are more easy to control, plus they have an enough developped

    and good health system.

Thailand isn't in the same case at all, and Thailand was of course

the subject in my post about the silly idea from TAT and the bubbles.

BUT ..... GB is also an island....I agree closer to EU but still an island ....
