4 days is my best experience. Been using FedEx, DHL, UPS, USPS for years. Longest was DHL at 2 weeks.

So many cheap Charlies here! Yes, Thanksgiving and Christmas Hotel Buffets can be a bit expensive here, but the selections are spectacular! Hard to beat anywhere in the world. If you're on a 100 Baht budget, they aren't for you, but if you can squeeze out enough cash for the family and can make use of the "all you can eat" format, it's well worth the spend. And I'll close with a Merry Christmas to all!

Bank insists I wear a mask
paulbrow replied to happydays's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Frankly, I don't understand people's reluctance to wear masks as a matter of public request and safety. My office still requires masks. I aways have my mask with me and wear it whenever among multiple people simply as a curtsey to those around me, and, frankly, myself. The law, as far as I remember, simply says establishments are free to set their own policies. -
iHerb Thailand sells Hydrocortisone and delivers to your door. Plain old ammonia works well for stopping the itch.

Departure card shows future leaving date
paulbrow replied to timoti's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
How did you get a departure card? They've been done away with, at least until sometime next year. I do have mine from Aug 2016 and it has no field for departure date, as many others have said. -
I FedEx mine to the local SSA office in Wilkes Barre. It's the only physical address available when searching. Seems to work fine. Personally, I'd rather spend couple of dollars more to rest assured it gets there.

Quoted 3 million THB from PEA to get 400 Amp Service onsite!
paulbrow replied to ElephantEgo's topic in The Electrical Forum
I've just had an estimate from MEA for a bit heavier service, 26 poles required, 500kVa / 24 kV, 416/240 V transformer, 3 phase, 70 sqmm cables hv side, 185 sqmm lv side, includes all necessary tray panels and switch. Fully installed price including VAT 3.211 million THB. 120 days to install. Maybe gives you some comparison basis. Good luck. Could be apples and oranges as few details on your installation. -
That would make too much sense!

Why are many visas based on age?
paulbrow replied to timoti's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
What country doesn't regulate by age? In the US you have to be minimum retirement age before you can draw social security. All "Senior" discounts are based on age. OP just seems to be a bit anti-rules. I see no difference in "Retirement Age" for whatever service you may choose to discuss. -
I use my American credit cards with USA addresses all the time on Lazada with no problems, so I have no idea what your particular issue is. Call Lazada. You can use your retirement visa account as long as you don't let the balance fall below the 800k during the critical months and 400k the rest of the time.

When I first got my company car which has a sunroof (If my car there would be no sunroof) I thought since I parked in covered, albeit outdoor parking, cracking the sunroof would be a good way to vent off excess heat. And that worked perfectly well, however I ultimately decided that the quantity of mosquitoes that found that little crack wasn't worth the heat released! I can't think of a single good reason to equip a car in Thailand with a sunroof! I apologize for ignoring to OP's actual question and will comment that I have not noticed excessive heat coming from the sunroof's interior cover panel.

I must admit I'm somewhat startled by the majority of the comments totally ignoring the injuries the man sustained from his attacker. Seems the hotel charging for a replacement key card is much more important. And since the Victim is Indian, he obviously is violating every labor law in the land. And to settle the other irrelevant argument raised by commenters is whether the time between midnight and noon is properly referred to as "morning". The definition of "morning" in the Oxford dictionary is: morn·ing [ˈmɔːnɪŋ] NOUN the period of time between midnight and noon, especially from sunrise to noon: "I've got a meeting this morning" · [more] synonyms: before noon · before lunch(time) · a.m. · morn · forenoon Link: define morning - Search (bing.com) Personally, I have always called these hours morning.
