Are there many/any venues offering Thanksgiving dinner, next week?
paulbrow replied to passingas's topic in Chiang Mai
Too many to mention. Web search "THANKSGIVING DINNERS In Chiang Mai – 23rd November 2023" and an amazing number of possibilities pop up. Most major farang holiday dinners are available at most major hotels in Thailand. -
Chinese tourists are returning - but not to Thailand
paulbrow replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Wouldn't at least a few words supporting the notion of the headline be useful. Articles are usually poor here, but this one exceeds normal level of inadequacy. -
For what it's worth, I did a simple Google search: "bee keeping supplies in Thailand" and many results popped up, including in Bangkok.

CRS self-certification at Bangkok Bank
paulbrow replied to 24Catty's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
For clarity, you must pay home country income tax on money earned in Thailand, or anywhere else outside your home country? I've always believed there are only 2 countries in the world that make their citizens pay tax on money earned outside of their home country, one of them being the US. -
American TikToker condemns Bangkok taxi driver for trying to rip him off

I guess you like paying twice the price. Metered taxis are supposed to use the meter by law. -
Prevention of swimmer's ear (external ear infection)?
paulbrow replied to Lorry's topic in Health and Medicine
The "Swim Ear" product you mention is quite popular in the States. I (and many others) have found that if you mix up equal parts of Hydrogen Peroxide and Rubbing Alcohol, it very effective in cleaning and drying if you use after every swim. Put a couple drops in each ear (one at a time of course) and drain after bubbling stops. You'll have clean ears from the HP and dry ears from the Alcohol. -

Thai Workers Are A Joke
paulbrow replied to Brewster67's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
Very different experiences you and I have had. I've had a lot of work done around the house, always performed my due diligence and routinely monitored and supervised their work. I've had no significant issues and reasonably well done work. -
FWIW, from my personal experience with a friend and her 50/50 son, being educated in a private school in Bangkok, the Thai kids and even the Thai teachers to some degree, have a problem with 50/50s and there is a strong tendency to discriminate against them and harass them. Other countries seem to handle this better. Unfortunately, this leads to a lot of hard feelings and embarrassment. Of course, the same can happen anywhere but seems excessive here. He's a top student, which probably aggravates the situation.

Silent film chaos: Man attacks transwomen at mall theater for shushing
paulbrow replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
What does the fact that the 2 people were trans have any bearing on this story. It's repeated over and over and frankly shouldn't even have been mentioned! -
Third passenger terminal for Bangkok’s Don Mueang airport

Downtown. -
The Bank disagrees with you.

Hate to be a downer but based on my experience and everyone I know with it, simply accept it and be prepared to live with it. Save your money and don't believe any of the miracle cures out there, none of them work, again, based on my wasted money and experience.

FWIW: My BB ATM card only works in BB ATM's...

Third passenger terminal for Bangkok’s Don Mueang airport
paulbrow replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Personally, I think DMK is exceptionally easy to get to, in and out of. Also, it's a much shorter trip then to go all the way out to Suvarnabhumi. -
Doctor Reveals Concerning Symptoms in Thaksin's Condition

Frankly, I have yet to read or hear anything that states that he currently is "unable" to live a normal, full and happy life of most people his age. -
