  1. How can a Blue Book be your residence certificate when you, a foreigner, cannot be listed in it?
  2. For clarity, you must pay home country income tax on money earned in Thailand, or anywhere else outside your home country? I've always believed there are only 2 countries in the world that make their citizens pay tax on money earned outside of their home country, one of them being the US.
  3. I guess you like paying twice the price. Metered taxis are supposed to use the meter by law.
  4. The "Swim Ear" product you mention is quite popular in the States. I (and many others) have found that if you mix up equal parts of Hydrogen Peroxide and Rubbing Alcohol, it very effective in cleaning and drying if you use after every swim. Put a couple drops in each ear (one at a time of course) and drain after bubbling stops. You'll have clean ears from the HP and dry ears from the Alcohol.
  5. I used Crown and they were excellent. Door to door service. 6. He certainly could release the information himself or approve the hospital to do it and hold them harmless.
  7. Very different experiences you and I have had. I've had a lot of work done around the house, always performed my due diligence and routinely monitored and supervised their work. I've had no significant issues and reasonably well done work.
  8. FWIW, from my personal experience with a friend and her 50/50 son, being educated in a private school in Bangkok, the Thai kids and even the Thai teachers to some degree, have a problem with 50/50s and there is a strong tendency to discriminate against them and harass them. Other countries seem to handle this better. Unfortunately, this leads to a lot of hard feelings and embarrassment. Of course, the same can happen anywhere but seems excessive here. He's a top student, which probably aggravates the situation.
  9. What does the fact that the 2 people were trans have any bearing on this story. It's repeated over and over and frankly shouldn't even have been mentioned!
  10. The Bank disagrees with you.
  11. Hate to be a downer but based on my experience and everyone I know with it, simply accept it and be prepared to live with it. Save your money and don't believe any of the miracle cures out there, none of them work, again, based on my wasted money and experience.
  12. FWIW: My BB ATM card only works in BB ATM's...
  13. Personally, I think DMK is exceptionally easy to get to, in and out of. Also, it's a much shorter trip then to go all the way out to Suvarnabhumi.
  14. Frankly, I have yet to read or hear anything that states that he currently is "unable" to live a normal, full and happy life of most people his age.
  15. For a Thai: Australia eVistor visa for Thai citizens in August 2023 - Visa List and for American: Australia ETA (Subclass 601) | Apply Now for the Australia ETA | iVisa
  16. Thanks for your input. The agent angle in the UAE is an interesting concept. Interesting point, Bangkhen is where we are trying to do this.
  17. Thanks for the input Tim. That thought has crossed my mind also. Maybe got to divorce and remarry. This effort to register our marriage is becoming monumental.
  18. FWIW, I know this is a bit different and is a Thai Ampur requirement, but I'm currently trying to register our marriage (I'm American, she's Thai, and we were married in Abu Dhabi) at our Ampur, but they require our original certificate to be certified and translated into Thai, as well as passports and other things. Sounds easy, but UAE Embassy will not certify the original certificate, although properly registered in UAE at the time, unless the MoFA in Abu Dhabi certifies it as real, then and only then will the embassy certify it and only after that will the legal translators translate it. We probably will get remarried in Thailand just to make it legal here.... Sorry for the diversion.
  19. Could easily be an allergy. My wife and I get it from time to time. Good, quick check is to get a simple antihistamine like Xyzal or Levocet at your local pharmacy. Try it, if the crawling/itching goes away within a couple of days, that was it.
  20. If they were going to do it, they would have done it already.
  21. Try watching some international news and you'll find out that this has nothing to do with a specific nationality. It has to do with the current state of humanity, or lack thereof.
