On a day by day basis you are right, but consider the retirees in Hua hin as an example : Many buy a house / condo and plenty spend around 10MB or more for that. Also car(s) are bought and everything that comes with a house, furniture, electronics and so on. Then there is the maintenance which gives permanent work.

Plenty of people here where i live spend yearly more than 1MB above all the mentioned purchases. This each and every year, i think that's quite a bit more than Alex and Nancy the backpacker who come for a month, or the UK lowso that spends his cash on soi bukhao in Pattayaaaaaaa

Oh dear! How misinformed you are. Now we will quickly go to the straight facts. First the things that are already bought, you can not try to bring into the GDP of the next year or any years to come.

Regarding the spending power. Let´s say there is spending power of 1MB per year, from a small amount of the expat community. What will that do? Oh, yes! We have about 150k expats in Thailand. Most of them are also already here. I would say that it must be about 10k that can be stranded outside. Lets say that 5% of the expats have the spending power you are talking about. That will be a too high number, but I will make a good gesture and give it to you. That will then be an amount spended in a year of 10B baht that could be estimated losses.

Now we go to the tourist sector. Let´s just play with a small amount per day of 3k baht spended and only 1 week holiday. That would in general be 21k baht per tourist. How many tourists do we need then? That´s about 480 000 tourists. As they had far over 3 million tourists per month before, you can quickly see what is important. The expat community in Thailand will continue to be insignificant, but always keep trying to overvalue it´s importance regarding the Thai economy.

You ridiculous comment about the UK lowso that spendsw cash in Pattaya is also totally irrelevant. If you knew anything about Thailand, you would know that it will almost be same as the expat living with a Thai family in Isaan. That due to that the expat gives money to the family, and the girl sends a big part of the spended money in Pattaya to her family.

    it's all happening out there.......

Yeah, right? Out there? Where would you think it would happen?

Factories have been moving around for ages. Nothing new. Here we are in the middle of a pandemic that has lasted for about half year. Only that will make a lot of companies rethink their plans and strategies.

The deceased’s body was sent to Maharaj Nakhon Chiang Mai Hospital for detailed autopsy to determine the cause of death.

I believe I can help them with that. I would assume that his death was caused by hitting something hard that suddenly stopped the fall.

However, It´s really sad to see what trails that are left from the pandemic. It will probably get worse.

That's a good attitude to have. I've been married several years now, if only there was a way I could have a more secure future here without coughing up 500-2000k baht, then I would be a lot more relaxed.

What are you paying 500k-2000k baht for? Are you talking about health insurance and money for show?

  5. People that get hung on threads like this, and also the people that creates them just to get to be the first to complain.

If I overlook that bad part of Thailand, then there is absolutely nothing that can stress me. Actually not a part of Thailand, but just something that people in this forum uses to get their complaint fix for the day.

    Deputy government spokeswoman Traisuree Taisaranakul

Today it´s Traisuree Taisaranakul. Before it was Traisulee Traisoranakul.

To get that right, it´s as simple as asking her about her own spelling in the ABC alphabet.

That bad research should tell us all that we can not trust the news. If they have such problems in getting a name right, then there must be even worse with the sometimes complicated news.

Most of esaan is supported by foreigners’ money.

You must be joking! Why are you trying to make it sound so good, and make foreigners monet so important?

As it should be, the government contribute to most of the money in Isaan. Your little try to say that most of Isaan is supported by foreigners money is totally absurd. In reality there is maybe about 1 foreigner in every 500 families, and even there I think I am exaggerating. Now even if most foreigners have a better monthly income than the ordinary Thai, you can not possibly say that that monthly income can be compared with the money of 500 families.

Also in the foreigner buys things for his money, the outcome is only that the shop owners and already fairly rich people get the money. Do go on posting about that the one little foreigner that resides with a Thai family see to that Isaan is supported. He supports the family he is living with and maybe married into. Get a grip on reality and just stop making people more important than they really are. The important thing is that Thailand gets back the part of the GDP from tourism that they have lost. That can only happen by tourism with people coming visiting 1-2 weeks up to a month like before. Not by approximately 150-160k expats that are living in Thailand. That´s just a drop of water in the big ocean.

They need to retain the dirt for at least a kilometre stretch of the road. It's not to clean up but build a retaining wall.

I thought 4 months is quite quick considering the length.

4 months for a kilometer? Yes, if only 2 people are working and the other 8 stand looking as usual.

An alleged human trafficking agent has been arrested by the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division

In persons division? is it so bad that they have animal divisions in human trafficking in this country? ????

If they mean anything else, it must be very hard to virtually traffic someone. As I know they have still not invented portals that transfer people. However, it would still be in person, right?
