Bye Bye WISE, WESTERN UNION, VISA, etc
treetops replied to Neeranam's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
This should be in the Farang Pub or whatever it's called section, not this one. -
This gets even weirder. I don't have a Kasikorn account, but in another current thread it's mentioned that Kasikorn never show up Wise transfers as international. https://aseannow.com/topic/1232702-visa-renewals-not-accepting-wise-transfers-on-bank-statements-unless-it-says-international-transfer/?do=findComment&comment=16852059

COVID PCR test timing
treetops replied to NorthernRyland's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
KLM website says no test required if she's in transit, and Thais don't require test results to enter Thailand IIRC, but maybe safest to get one anyway. -
Bank network goes down for pre-planned, pre-announced maintenance like every other bank on the planet and customer has on-line tantrum to audience of complete strangers about this "disaster". I wonder if the national newspapers will pick up on this major infringement of human rights? Meanwhile other users paid cash for their petrol as they plan life without undue expectations.

I'm also booked to fly from the UK on the 13th (arrive BKK 14th) but the potential change of quarantine rules is mooted for the 15th. I wonder how they'll treat any arrivals in the days before the change and whether new rules will apply to them?

The EU digital system has recently added Albania, Morocco, Israel and Panama to the countries whose systems can tie up together, and England will also be added in the next couple of weeks. There will be more added in time and I wouldn't expect the yellow book to be in use too much.

Progress may well prove you wrong.

COVID PCR test timing
treetops replied to NorthernRyland's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I used them a couple of weeks ago. The test status on their website did not update by the 10 o'clock deadline and I had to contact them. Quick reply even at 10:00pm on a Sunday night and a link to the results supplied. There was a View and download results button that may have been active but I had fixed on looking at the status message so not sure if they'd been available all the time. What nationality is your wife? -
COVID PCR test timing
treetops replied to NorthernRyland's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I would say so. I've had ones approx 30 hours in Thailand and 24 in UK (x4). Also quoted 24 hours in Spain, but I went for the antigen test instead. -

Test report issued. The sample itself can be taken outwith that time, although I'd be avoiding a lab that could take up to 72 hours if another option was available. -
Vaccines issued throughout the EU and a few surrounding countries can be verified throughout the area. Not so easy to do worldwide though.

Ist jab: AZ. Best 2nd jab choice: AZ or Pfizer?

Mixed vaccines are now being accepted for travel to some countries and this will only increase. I'm not sure if any studies on the comparative effectiveness are complete yet. -
No, the vaccine record from the vaccination centre was enough for a mate to enter Spain a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately they accept Sinovac. The little yellow card is far more dubious IMO as too open to forgery.

A few questions regarding the Phuket Sandbox and COE

Look at Qatar, Emirates, Etihad or Singapore (there may be others bit these spring to mind). Not all flights are daily. -

Several countries are accepting mixed vaccines for entry now, and 12 doses from 10 can be done by utilising vial overfill and low dead zone syringes, so aren't too far out there. I've never come across anything on the intramuscular or not, except a trial that was taking place that I never heard results from.
