  1. There is no mention in the OP as to the fate of the moggies.

Hopefully they have been euthanised - one thing Thailand's native fauna doesn't need is introduced foreign predators.

I for one wouldn't be sorry to see all non-native cats in Thailand transported across the border(s), and into the stew pots.

  2. .

I have no idea what this guy is or isn't. It is simply not the case that if he is a terrorist - or affiliated with any of that sort - he is guaranteed to be able to disappear from the radar and never seen again. Some people have been tracked for years.

Law enforcement and security services sometime deliberately let people know they or people they are affiliated with are under suspicion, or indicate that they know more than they in fact do, for tactical and strategic reasons.

Smart move letting him back into the US.

Now they can easily track him, and everyone within a 20,000 kilometre radius of him. coffee1.gif

  3. And just so that you and your mob which go around poking fun and pointing fingers at those who put thought in to try to comprehend some of what is posted here in the news section, I am not part of any "mob" - unless you consider those attempting reasonable and rational thought a "mob". By the way, "mobs" have overseen the downfall of dictators, of city states, of countries, and of regions. Would I have been "linked" in coordinated attempts to skew the thoughts of others on this forum I would be honored to be considered part of an honorable "mob". Oh the irony.

I suspect you have a vastly overrated sense of both your ability to "reason" and produce "rational thought".

How much "thought" went into this classic?:

I have seen many ladies far more deserving (both in looks, and in a few cases kindness and many in potential intelligence) of becoming a fair godmother after they too have finished important meetings at Central Bangkok hotels with people they will not discuss (unless of course over dinner discretely with friends!).

The article is utter rubbish, this woman does not have any impact on anything outside of the Kingdom and commands no respect unless she commands it using either the Thai judicial system, her red thugs, or a deformed, disgusting combination of both.

For a ghost, you certainly are scary. Even ghosts are able to recognise irony. smile.png

  4. Yingluck as a Fairy Godmother? Jeez. I nominate TS, a Dubai ex-pat, to be the Demon King. I ask readers to scout the fleshpots of Nana, Cowboy, Patpong, Soi 6 to discover a damsel to play the part of Cinderella.

OK - to spell it out again:

the article is intended to be irony

    Definition of irony
noun (plural ironies)[mass noun] the expression of one’s meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect:

They certainly are a quick mob on TV. laugh.png

  5. I recently bought a Huawei Ascend G300+ in Oz (A$100 or ~3000 baht) for use (mainly) in Thailand.

Excellent phone, with the big advantage of tri-band on 3G (850/900/2100). Easily upgraded (via the Huawei website) from Gingerbread to ICS.

Will be even better if/when we get real 3G in the sticks of Udon Thani. smile.png

  6. And what if the Singaporean guy sold the Rolls Royce to him for a dollar

    Wouldn't wash.

There are well defined laws for valuing imports, and a transaction such as you suggest would fall outside those laws.

Not that Thai Customs has a reputation for actually following their own laws. whistling.gif

  7. Some people seem to think that by taking the stance that both sides are as bad as each other, that must automatically make their position neutral. It does not. In terms of violence, intimidation and destruction, the red shirt movement has been responsible for a lot more than any other group (this incident being a prime example of how they operate).

Failing to acknowledge the differences that separate the red shirt movement from others, and attempting as you are, to label them all as bad as each other, is just a backhanded attempt at playing down what the red shirts are guilty of. It is the sort of approach i have observed in quite a number of people who were once vocal in their support of the reds, and who still deep down have their sympathies in that direction, but who have realized that actually defending the red shirts has become too difficult a task with all that they have done in the last few years, and so instead they take a different approach, that of attempting to distribute the blame out equally on all sides.

    Excellent observation.

I would have thought more like shades of GW Bush. thumbsup.gif

  8. .

I don't know who to hate more. Them or the dumbasses who constantly vote for them. I know it's wrong but you know that fella who said that some people just aren't smart enough and shouldn't be allowed to vote had a point.

The same "logic" could be applied to quite a few of the posters on TVF. coffee1.gif

  9. Millions of daughters in poor families are sold in Thailand, they call it sinsod, say it's culture. It often starts at the age of 12 and yes many of them end up in bars and other venues all over the country most of the time with knowledge of the family and by an aunt or whatever family member middling for a commission. Never any shocking stories about that, but when a girl ends up in Korea it all of a sudden is a big scandal. Selective outrage this is!

YOU REALY ARE NOT TO SMART ARE YOU!!!

Sinsod and human traffcking are not the same, but you think you are the expert on Thai culture and custom, then please give us more of you expertise and wisdom ohh great teacher...

Than you're the expert that should be able to explain us what it is when a family marries their 15 year old daughter out to some half stranger after he paid x-amount of Baht in front of the neighborhood.

It seems to me that you are the one who made the outlandish claims re sinsod.

Perhaps you could back those up, and then wildorchid (and no doubt some others) will have something to refute.

ps I am still waiting for your reply to my post asking why the payment of sinsod by some of the richest and most high profile families in Thailand (ie not poor families) is not Thai culture.

    Selective ignorance perhaps.

What is it called when sinsod is paid by very rich families?

    What a nonsense post.

    Ditto - see below.

It is done every time a girl marries in Thailand. It is called the Sin Sod. In other words, the man buys the girl from her parents. No Sid Sod, no marriage.

I hope the usual Thai apologists will not go out of their way with explanations to make this a "cultural" trait and not a buy out of a human being.

  12. 13 cheating Thais, charged with conning a mafia owned, robbing, cheating casino.

One way or another these 13 people will receive the death penalty. Either discretely or officially via the so-call legal system.

    Thanks for the clarification.

It has been obvious for years that the Singapore government has a strong link with the "mafia".

It just took one of TVF's best and brightest to point this out. blink.png
