Thailand in Crisis: Population plummets by 500k in 4 Years
HaoleBoy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Mis-count of Covid deaths. The junta gov. - mainly Anutin - congratulated themselves on their made up numbers of deaths due to China-crap-vac the gov distributed (and grifted from). -
Thai emission laws transform: What drivers need to know
HaoleBoy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
In US the smog check done every year is automatically transferred to local agency before any registration is sent out. If you fail then no registration ... They designed the system to make it extremely hard to bypass. In Thailand you can pay 500 - 800 THB to inspector and get him to sign off on the smog check. Big difference! Police can / will check registration (based on colored tag) and pull you over. -
PM Srettha to submit PM2.5 dust plan within court’s 90-day deadline
HaoleBoy replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Need a way to link the biggest burns from overhead pic's to who actually owns the land and link it back to the agro-businesses. But, this gov would never fine these companies ... i.e., CP. The big companies buy up land and let the local farmers farm them (in Thailand and Myranmar). The big companies could buy proper equipment to use after the harvest of corn, sugarcane, and rice) in a co-op manner. -
PM says government not bound by 20-year national strategy
HaoleBoy replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Yes true .... There must be an Amendment to get this changed. I believe it is covered in one of the 2 sections that can't be changed by the rewrite too. It always amazed me that the junta PM pushed the 20 yr plan so hard. He couldn't do this in the RTA .... he was dillusional though. -
Yingluck Patiently Awaits Homecoming In Thaksin’s Style
HaoleBoy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
And the PM wants Thai youth abroad to return home to this kind of Gov. What an allusion ... even his 2 sons won't come home! Yes, there is corruption in the West too but newcomers are naive to it there. -
You can search "Nigeria Chinese prisoners" for more info ...
-
It's more than money. Look at what is happening with Chinese companies running the ports in Nigeria. The Chinese are importing Chinese prisoners to work in these companies thus a further hazard.
-
Not quite the full picture. Different containers can not be located together due to hazardous material contained inside. Fire hazards are taken into account and containers with most fire hazards are loaded on the outer of the ships. Loading ships with various containers is a complex proprietary software (as well as storing on land as in Port of Singapore). Overall I don't see Thailand buying this kind of software or inventing it again. Port of SG are using big machines from HP (formerly Tandem Computers) at each port (4 overall) with NonStop databases (formerly Oracle database but these went down to often) to store the info and the proprietary software running on top. The machines can not go down thus many small Linux boxes won't work to date. I really doubt the Thai Gov has thought through the entire process completely.

PM2.5 crisis first major test for Srettha’s government
HaoleBoy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
"Miraculously solve" this problem? Go after the big aggribusinesses and fine them! Thailand big aggri companies are producing a very large portion of this problem in Thailand and Myanmar. www.thinkglobalhealth.org/article/tangled-problem-sugarcane-burning-thailand This junta 2.0 gov is again scared to go after some big elite families.- 32 replies

Civil service starting salaries to rise by 10%
HaoleBoy replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
This is how PM Sreetha wants to lure educated Thais back to Thailand? Starting wage at 18,000 thb / month ... I know foreign educated Thais won't become civil-servants, but the industry will follow the Gov's lead here. Add this abysmal pay to the lack of respect for their votes and the "elites" power here and you've got the recipe for why Thai's stay in other countries to work / live. -
Thai soldier cheats on his wife and leaves her to pay his debts
HaoleBoy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Following his conscription period, he received a military job offer, contingent on a 300,000 baht payment to secure the position. This is one reason why the Thai military is against dropping conscription and PheuThai Gov went along with it. Less corruption money will flow up the ladder to all their generals. In a lot of militaries all the wife would have to do is go see the Thai man's commanding officer to get him to pay. -
Alcohol Sales Banned for End of Buddhist Lent This Upcoming Sunday
HaoleBoy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If Thailand is such a Buddhist country then the people will abstain themselves, but then the Gov couldn't make a show of exerting control over its people. -
Labour ministry to raise minimum wage to Bt400 max by December
HaoleBoy replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
What is the corresponding wage hike min for university graduates? Currently I believe it's 15000 THB / month. -

Junta Prayut thinks so highly of himself still ... pathetic loser. -
OPINION: “I’m a pooyai!” – The dilemma of “respect” in Thai culture
HaoleBoy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This is what led to the junta Senators telling Thai people what is right / wrong. Just a bunch of pompous *ss pooyais. Many royalists (far right) fall into this category too. The Move Forward Party may have tried to move past this, but were chopped at the knees by the Elite and Military. -
New public health minister walks back ‘recreational’ cannabis
HaoleBoy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
We got your drift ... you don't like rec. weed. Move on and let it go you are part of a small minority spouting your ignorant views. Several of the shops I know have already got a Med. Dr onboard and display their medical certificate. The shop owners saw this coming before this new gov and got ready for. If the law passes then they will just have to pay the RTP and will continue to sell recreational or give a medical prescription on-site before selling their product. -
Thailand’s State Railway seeks 50 billion baht for expansions
HaoleBoy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Hopefully Thailand isn't going to borrow the money from China as part of their "Belt and Road" initiative. Laos bankrupted themselves taking this pseudo "free" money and Cambodia has been going down this same path. China will get a deep water port in Cambodia from this. I'm sure China is looking at giving loans to Thailand for the "Land Bridge" in the south too so they can move in and take it over when finished. -
Big Joke caught partying with leading online gambling operator
HaoleBoy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Big Joke and others broke up the Online Gambling ring in July. It seems immediately after some of his industrious subordinates started running the site themselves after seeing how much cash could be had. That's a quick turnaround ... I heard from a Thai that 4-5 other houses on the same soi were raided too. These all belonged to Big Joke and he apparently rents them out to some of his subordinates.- 107 replies
