    Good thing their six-month survey concluded in November. The Baht has clobbered the USD over the past six weeks.. The Pound and Euro have not faltered quite as much, though.

    No doubt she remembers the Progressive woman (or trans) who followed her into an airport bathroom, and lobbied her in the stall—completely disgusting and short-sighted.

    I wonder where our letters go. Do they leave BKK, and make an interim stop in China? That may explain some of the delays. This info could be of interest to certain governments…

    How about that? We just had another Friday night Baht surge. All westerns down another 5-10 Satang. Gotta wonder if BoT times these things for the end of a trading week.

    Double whammy: prices rising (inflation). Western currencies tanking (manipulation?).

    Good time to let the Baht rise, right Bank of Thailand? That will bring more tourists here, and spending wildly (Thai logic).

    In the same boat here. Sent first response in July—never arrived. Got 2nd letter last month, sent Thai Post Airmail with tracking. Fingers crossed. Next step, will call my home area SS office for account status.

    Nice work, Thai Livestock Development Department and Pattaya News. But don’t think they’re the only ones.

    If you look at the Baht movements the way chartists look at stocks—you would see highs and lows vs other currencies. Looking at the recent lows—you can see the USD near a six-month low. The Euro and the Pound each near only one-month lows. Clearly FedSpeak to blame here. Traders expect an end to interest rate hikes (not likely) and a return to 2% inflation (not for a very long time).

    Personal Finance? Don’t look at currency fluctuations—you might not like what you see this month.

    Agreed. And airlines make it tougher on both frequent and occasional flyers by reducing point values on many international flights. I just returned from R-T to NYC to find reduction points—from previous trips 19,000 points to about 6500 points this time—less incentive to fly international.

    Such a shame the Baht is heading in the wrong direction—up, up, up this month. Maybe this news will slow its rapid ascent.

    Not fair. Chinese criminals can blend in with the local Chinese-Thai population. Western bad guys have no such cover.

    Umm, last I checked, the mighty Baht flexed its muscles today. That might impact things like stability, tourism and exports.

    Broken boardwalks a metaphor for broken hearts and relationships in Pattaya. Fix them so love can bloom again.

    She did well with the promises and hand outs. Much better than I expected. Now, if she could return home and help close the US border—I’d be truly amazed and impressed.
