Retirement visa? medical insurance
Makoshark replied to raptorea's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Is it not true, that if you use an agent, you do not need to show any insurance? Which is the purpose of using agent. I will be using an agent this time around as its easier and I'm 73. I will buy insurace both short/long term from Pacific Coast. -
Did I read this correctly? Molesting children under 13 warrants 1-10 years in jail and a fine up to 200,000 baht. Longer prison terms are given where there is anal penetration. So if I have anal sex with a child under 13, depending on the size of my &%$#@, my jail time could be 1 year, 1 month??? Hence the reason, why people have sex with children! ! ! Hardly a penalty and free food and shelter.

No. My Thai friend will make the arrangements to be cremated. Once cremated, he'll box me up, and forward me to my daughter -

I'm in the same situation. Kids are grown and I see them 2x a year for 1 month. I'm going to FedEx my ashes to NYC. Cheapest way. -
This will be a FREE club and the events will take place in a restaurant in Sukhumvit, Asoke/Phrom Phong area, in the afternoons. I'm putting together a spread sheet with desired times/days you are available to play. Once I get all the data, everyone will be emailed with locations and desired times. I am hoping to get this off the ground after Songkran with commitments from the restaurants. If interested, PM me.

US residents with Medicare and MediGap plan G
Makoshark replied to Onerak's topic in Insurance in Thailand
$32 million bht... I will arrive back in BKK and get $10 million bht insurance this time thru pacific Cross. Luma will NOT insure me as I am older than 72. Luma is terrific. They used to be called MSH International. I had kidney stones and they covered EVERY stone 220,000 bht at St. Louis Hospital. They are terrrrrrific. if you are under 72. -
US residents with Medicare and MediGap plan G
Makoshark replied to Onerak's topic in Insurance in Thailand
I am 72 and have been on Medicare since '66 and living in BKK since '17. While I continue to be on Medicare in the USA and also have a supplement there, I also carry $32 million in Thai insurance from Luma Healthcare. Beware of insurance companies that do NOT have an office in BKK. -
I live in Rawai, always quiet and beautiful beaches. Nai Harn is great ! ! !

Obtaining a Thai driving licence
Makoshark replied to Johnnie99's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
You definitely do NOT need your own car for a drivers license. I have both a motorbike and car license. I had to take a test but they give you their bikes to use if you don't have one. My car license was just a written test Both were done in BKK -
I've been going to the Dental Clinic in St. Louis Hospital for 6 years. Do I pay more? HELL YEAH. I'm FREAKIN worth it ! ! !

Cosmos opposite Foodland is closed. I know the owner and he will not re-open. The girls that worked there are now spread out in and around Papong. It's gonna take another year or 2, before it comes 1/2 back to once it once was. Since Papong is privately owned, the family has no incentives to offer breaks as they made millions in rent over the years. I lived there from '15-2021 and before Covid it was jamming. I'm returning next month so i can update you

The clinic did 6 crowns, 2 root canals. They have the latest technology and at 72 my teeth are "SUPER" important to me. Back in the USA, I had to have another crown. He saw what the THAI dentists did, and applauded them. Be Kind To Yourself My Friend ......................................................................

Since you're only looking for a "good" dentist, go to the corner. If you want a "great" dentist, I go to the Dental Clinic at St. Louis Hospital on Silom. BUT, ONLY go there if you think you are worthy of a "great" dentist. If not, go to your "good" dentist and then you can go to St. Louis for repairs????

Dude, buy a new one. They're cheap enough. I'm a designer. Want me to design one out of crocodile?

Onward flight unpopular forum opinion
Makoshark replied to aussiexpat's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Hey Aussie, Dr. Jack & Ubon Joe have been on this site for many years relating VISA information. Both of them are ALWAYS 100% correct in their advice. And YES, they are correct with onward flight. Read the requirements from the USA embassy. For a Tourist visa, you absolutely NEED an "onward ticket" If you go the visa exempt route, you MUST provide paperwork on Insurance. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK "J & J" . We need guys like you, giving us proper info about a country where the rules change daily. -
After living in a gorgeous condo on the 33rd fl of Lebua, I returned to the USA 1 year ago for my daughter's wedding. 15 months later, I can't wait to get the Hell out of here, and get back to BKK. I miss the culture, the smiles, and my 3 hour massages 4x a week. My quality of life is so far superior in Thailand than living in the USA, it's not funny. The smiles are priceless. As I sold everything I had years ago and arrived with 1 suitcase, I can do it again ! ! ! Arriving in February ! ! !
