  1. The consumer believes what they want to believe, and, at the moment, a lot are wetting their pants  over this virus.

it is right that sensible precautions should be taken, just as you would when on the roads.

Not So 'well mannered' when behind the wheel of a car or on the bike as some would hope.

I would say it's worse than Paris or Rome, but better than anywhere in northern Africa. Even though Thailand is number 2 in the world for road deaths.

  2. There is risk inherent in everything we do. People risk their lives to escape from what they see is danger to themselves, or to try and improve their lives. The problem being, those countries perceived to be 'safer' or 'better' are small in number, and cannot save the whole of rest of the world. Nor should they have to, nor should they be made to feel guilty that they don't.

You do what you can,  Not want you want.

  3. What is overcharging? If prices are not regulated or controlled, in a capitalist society, items will sell for what they will sell for.

If prices are state controlled or regulated, it's not a free market and the prices are set by the government. Yet...see below.

Not guilty enough to be charged...just increased prices...

    Strange statement.

Are they not guilty of overcharging? Yes, market forces increase the prices, supply and demand....

Are they guilty of overcharging? No. No known 'standard price' yet, so how can they know if the shops are 'overcharging' or not?

  4. That, in my mind works out to be 10% of tourists were Chinese. Once I figured out what he was saying....

Even if no Chinese came, 9 million would still have come. The article didn't specify revenue, but if the Chinese spent the same as domestic and other foreign tourists, that's a 10% hit. If they spent twice as much as everyone else, that's a 10.77% hit....isn't it?
