Is that retired Arizona cop available for a night of sensible imbibation and discussion on the merits of living in Chiang Mai?
I'll be there...
Well done. Any others?
I'll be there too.

.......though [blinky Bill] still way overuses the quote function
I think it's only because he really does not have that much to say himself.

BTW, unfiltered kreteks?
Cheers, mate (he said, hoping he got the Aussie mate talk right).

My people will get back to you.
Have them get back to ours.

. . . Monday or Tuesday would suit me.
Any suggestions re date, time and location? I always prefer Tuskers but Monday is their Quiz night.
Here's a suggestion: Tuesday, 8, Tuskers.

People might get us confused, now that could be a good thing or perhaps not. What do you think?
I have no idea how Bungalow B's head is screwed on, but I confess I had not thought of you, Blinky B, as one so easily confused.

Does anyone know the hardness of the tap water in Chiangmai?
Neither searching this forum nor googling gave me an answer.
-
. . . I still have a Maxnet 2048 Mbps subscription at this time that has served me well over the past two years. The latter costs about the same (750 THB per month) and delivers similar speeds. . .
Thanks for the report, CMX. Your quoted comment, though, leaves me puzzled. What benefit are you receiving that justifies the cost and trouble of switching?

The fresh air.
You gotta be takin the pyss Ras
Chiang Mai has about the worst air quality in the realm and that means half the planet as well.
Pardon me, john b good, but this is a positive thread about what people like about Chiangmai. If you think the air is not fresh in Chiangmai and want to talk about it, I suggest you start a separate thread for that purpose.

Where exactly on the ground floor of PP? Name shop, maybe?
Don't know the name of the shop, but it is at the back, two or three shops to the left of the Bangkok Bank branch (as you face it). I was just there, by coincidence, and I noticed the biggest words on their sign in front are 'VDO conversion to DVD', so it sounds like you and they speak the same language.
-
Not sure what a VDO is (and googling it did not help), but there is a little shop on the ground floor at the back of Panthip Plaza that does all kinds of copying from different formats to others. I've used them a number of times, always with satisfaction.

( sorry Russ, you know I couldn't resist.
)
When one is hard to resist, one must learn to accept it.

Hopefully, the reds keeping fighting and injuring themsleves everyday.
At this rate, in no time, all reds will be gone!
Better dead than red?

Thanks to all for your suggestions. Table-top or standing, chiangmaibruce.

Delighted to accept your kind invitation, Mr Bentley. I shall be bringing my own little lamb.

No, I am not trying to track down old friends.
Rather, I'm looking to find and buy an antique electric fan to blow a contemporary breeze once the hot season is upon us.
Any ideas where I might find one in or around Chiangmai?

Fire?
in Chiang Mai
My best guess is it is dry season and everyone burns their brush about this time of year. . . .Just in case you're replying to the OP, that was made more than three months ago
Could be one of those timeless observations one occasionally makes (as opposed to a priceless observation, of course).

I'm not sure Blinky . . . I understand you have a lot of experience with stuffing?
Herb?

Quite the jolly mood you're in, PostmanPat.

You may find this of interest (this week's Chiang Mai Mail):
I think most people will find this not interesting. And find it spam that has nothing to do with old Chiang Mai, GDP John's, or Noise's pix.
You may well be right, but I at least was very glad to find the information in the link.
Good Place To Buy Hi-fi Equipment In Cm ?
in Chiang Mai

Without a doubt, the place you want is Neo Entertainment, on the fourth floor of Airport Plaza. To give one example of how serious they are about high-end audio and audio-visual systems, I attended a by-invitation-only four-hour seminar there on Sunday given by the editor-in-chief of a leading Thai audio magazine, concerning how to keep your music on a computer without loss of quality compared with CDs (and it was not a simple subject, as it turned out).
