Domestic violence
Domestic violence won't stop until all homes have at least one stable parent that teaches the value of life. Two of course are better, and having the other parent around to teach helps immeasurably. Children learn a lot from their peers, especially if the parents are absent or not involved. In this culture, and most Asian cultures, men dominate, looking at women as secondary. This posture leads to demeaning behavior and sometimes violence. Women looked at as equals by their men leaves less room for this demeaning behavior, and more communication. Every person that treats a woman good rubs off. Children see it in homes, and others see it in public, at least part of the time. People gossip, especially here, and that talk can be better if the men would do a better job treating the women equally. This has gone on for generations and won't change for a long time. These asinine lakorns make some men look like heroes and some as demons. It actually matches real life in many ways, with the exception of less heroes and more demons. Anyone can speak out against domestic violence. Not doing anything makes it easier to happen. Women should never take a beating. It only leads to more. The same with men, as some are abused by women. Kids see mom , or dad, get hit, and they think it's normal, and they'll follow in their own relationships.

Maybe Thailand should follow Korea and be more selective of expats/tourists
Yes, it was, and you should delete what you wrote because it doesn't look good to other farangs when you want less of them here.

Aren't you a farang? If so, why would you like to see fewer here? So you have the country more to yourself? I'm guessing you think the more money a person has, the better person he might be? History proves that wrong all the time. The ones with the most money seem to be the ones who think they can do anything they want, especially to women, and get away with it. It's one reason so many women here are brainwashed into thinking all farangs are rich, when in reality most people are making ends meet month by month, in many countries besides the US. A lot of us are taking care of wives, children and girlfriends better than the locals do, especially regarding the children, as the locals aren't held responsible as far as child support is concerned. Take a look at how much the average local has in savings and they seem to get by every month. making a farang have so much is prejudiced. In America, a Thai can work soon after they move there. Like milesiinz said," if I married a Thai girl and she came to my country she could get residency in 2 years, and a path to full citizenship. She would have all the facilities of fellow people from my country. There would be NO 90 day reporting or this sort of nonsense." You'd be surprised how many farangs in other countries read this forum. There are quite a few I know in the states who were thinking of coming here but changed their mind, seeing all that goes on here daily, and went to other resorts for their vacations. As I mentioned earlier, if you treat expats bad, that will backfire in how Thais are treated in other countries. Many Asians are attacked in the states by people who developed prejudice by seeing their friends or family hurt by an Asian. Countries that use their heads and treat each other well have much better results.

That was a typo. It was supposed to be 3,000,000 +. I didn't check it first. I need a new keyboard. There are many links to google.

It might pass the thinking of some, but the way you treat foreigners is the way you might be treated in other countries you may move to. Everything that is done here shows in the treatment of Asians in America for one. The prejudice isn't just here . There are 300,000 farangs here if that estimate is right, and they have relatives and friends back home they talk to. Treating people from other countries well only passes this on. Misogyny is huge in locals here, so that shouldn't even be mentioned. Racism is everywhere. Sexpats are usually the tourists, but prostitution here is why many come, so who's to blame? People who overstay are only hurting themselves, and that's anywhere. You respect people everywhere, especially where you are living, or it leads to trouble. Just sayin'.

More incentives for growers not to burn sugarcane before harvesting
Like most everything else Thailand copies from other countries, this is the best way they've found to not only eliminate toxic burning but to use the leaves and tops of the plants. No excuses besides ignorance and laziness.........................https://www.global-organics.com/post.php?s=2021-06-03-the-alternative-to-burning-sugar-cane-is-a-win-win-win-solution-opinion

How does a conductor narrowly avoid colliding with a pedestrian on the tracks? It's not like he could swerve to avoid him.

Do you like to "wai"? Why?
"Too many misconceptions and invalid preconceptions". This , your statement, emphasizes the ignorance you show by assuming you know more than just a few foreigners that live here. Assuming that the Roman were smart because they used force to try and conquer the world doesn't work either. The Romans borrowed technology from many nations as they barged their way in, took slaves, and laid to waste anyone who opposed them, mainly because of attrition. They were no more educated than many other nations. Calling farangs you don't know stupid IS stupid. It's an assumption based on a few meetings or typed words here. Also, a Wai is not a "superior" custom. It's just their way of greeting. Westerners use handshakes, which is actually "superior" because it involves touch, and a firm handshake tells a lot about someone. It might be possible to transmit germs, but as children are taught young, don't touch your eyes, nose or mouth with your hands unless you have washed them first. I have many Thais put out their hand to shake because they know this is how it's done where we're from, so that's respect. I always Wai to locals, and since no one on earth is superior to anyone else, I do it like I've seen it done, with a smile. Again you show a lack of restraint thinking you are somehow superior to anyone here, or anywhere else for that matter. Constantly showing this kind of behavior shows a lack of self esteem and an inferiority complex, making up for loss somewhere. Like you and others have said here, try and fit in with the rest of us. Even if you were a genius, and your comments show otherwise, you don't have to try and promote that to others. Smart people can recognize other smart people, and they don't think they are somehow superior because genetics and reading have attained them a degree of knowledge more than the average person.

Trump allies prepare to infuse ‘Christian nationalism’ in second administration
True. I was again just responding rather anonymously, that the US has a larger percentage of Christians than other faiths. Doesn't mean I support anything. To each his own is what the US is supposed to be about. It hasn't followed that the way it should, yet.
-
Trump allies prepare to infuse ‘Christian nationalism’ in second administration
I was responding to a poll on the amount of Christians in the US, not what the constitution says about religion. It is meant to stay neutral. I look at the US as all religions, nationalities of the world living (hopefully eventually) in harmony.

I simply believe in God for my own reasons. I cannot judge others. I just typed in what I saw written. Polls are made, and some are legitimate, some aren't. I don't follow any orders by anyone. Following what's written isn't judging. It's taking a side. I took that side when I was a child and haven't wavered, and won't. My belief.

Laws are meant to be judged, changed, adjusted. First part is ridding the world, congress, everywhere, of narcissist leaders. That takes time, as they have a lot of power and money behind the. Trump is one of them, voted in by half of my family and spurned by the other. I saw him for what he was years ago, and some can't see this. A lot think a lot of money made means you're smart, good, slick, whatever. It can also mean sly, scammer, liar, cheater and a friend of the same.

Muslims believe in God. There will always be radicals even in Christianity. The US has it's share of hypocrites and weird thinking people. Change happens. Just takes time.

Trump allies prepare to infuse ‘Christian nationalism’ in second administration
It isn't my deal to judge. I just go by what's written, easily googled. I would hope everyone would believe in God. Would end a lot of killings and pain, although not all, because there will always be hypocrites.

Trump allies prepare to infuse ‘Christian nationalism’ in second administration
Besides the truth there is only one God, seeing if there were more than one, we would surely see them trying to outdo the other with things we would observe, the US Pledge is meant to be about God, the one and only. It doesn't say Under all gods. You doubt the existence of a God, meaning you aren't a true Christian. A true Christian believes in God through his son, Jesus. You might believe in God but not religion. I was a former Catholic, but now simply a Christian, because some of the things Catholics do aren't necessary and man made. When a poll was made, it took into account Christians, believers in Jesus. The definition........... What is Christian nominalism? a Christian nominalist is one who claims the name Christian, but who has no authentic, personal, sin-forgiving and life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. His allegiance to Jesus is in name, not heart. (

One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all............... Part of the Pledge of Allegiance........... Christians account for 63% of the religions, although some don't understand that America is not just one type of people but people from everywhere, all religions, races and nationalities. Stats just say the before mentioned.

Electric bill- something is not right.
I was away for the month of November and I received a bill for 500 baht. The only thing left on was the refrigerator. Didn't seem right as a neighbor usually has bills of less than 300 baht, and he uses fans and a refrigerator. I have gotten bills which didn't seem right both here and back in Texas. I feel they are overcharging a lot thinking most won't check. They usually use the excuse that it cost more for the power they received.

Pit Bull Breeder Killed by his own dogs
As you can see, again, dogs have proven their worth. In all the ways I mentioned and more. Try googling what dogs have done as service animals. Dogs that aren't trained can also be gentle, loving companions, as I have seen many times. It's people that mistreat animals that gets them to be aggressive. Dogs left to be wild can also get aggressive, because they look to their peers on how to act. Much like children growing up without fathers or mothers. Do you actually think animals are here, meaning those used for meat, to over populate and eat themselves out of their habitats? People have multiplied so much that room left for animals is decreasing daily. This is why they have to be kept in check. Also, meat tastes good, and no one on earth will ever outlaw meat eating. No sense arguing the point as it will never happen. And people left untrained are the reason we have wars, domestic violence, murder, theft, drug abuse, animal abuse a,kidnappings, rape and other crimes towards humanity. Are people all useless? Many yes, but not all.

Pit Bull Breeder Killed by his own dogs
Dogs aren't useless unless people train them to be. Many lives have been saved by dogs as searchers, drug sniffers, companions to the blind and disabled, K-9's that help police, and just companions to people who have depression. You don't like dogs, don't have one. You can't rant about those that love animals if you don't have the feeling. You do understand that people who intentionally hurt dogs and cats are anti social in many ways. Hurting animals is the first step towards abuse of humans.

Pit Bull Breeder Killed by his own dogs
I, among others, would love to see this happen, but mosquitoes have a reason to be here. Being a believer, I don't understand why God allowed them to transmit diseases but that's what they do to feed. It could have been done a better way it seems, but we won't know until we ask him.

How do you react to Thais who do not respond to greetings?
Just did it quick so others who can't read a lot of words might follow it easier. I just type things as they come to me, and don't care about paragraphs because I've always been able to comprehend whatever anyone writes, no matter the spacing. Many here put in one sentence at a time, like they are all paragraphs, all with the same topic, and that's wrong also, but most don't seem to mind.
