Not a shotgun wedding, my choice, and yes, everyone should wait awhile to get to know the other person better.Attraction does that to some of us.

The state of your average expat in Thailand.
You haven't read my earlier posts, so I'll let you know. I met my now ex wife back in 2015 while visiting Thailand for Songkran in Bueng Kan. Was always on my bucket list so I came here. Stayed at the hotel she was working at, met her, fell in love, stayed a month here (yes, of course too fast), came back in September, got married, went back to the states, came back for honeymoon in February, left, came back a few times in the next 2 years, thinking I could get her to move to the states. She wanted to stay near her family, a group of people that basically don't like each other, 10 more kids, various ages and locations, particularly the mom (dad died earlier). Sold my house, built one here, she became herself soon afterwards, kidnapped our daughter 4 times, had to file for divorce to get daughter back home (in America, and most other places, she would be jailed), now live in house I built, joint custody, she now works in Pattaya so I have daughter now, until she returns (maybe). Planning to re establish back home with daughter as soon as I can work things out. I like some things here, but my hobbies I can't do, besides some fishing that isn't good in Isaan in any places not private or pay and fish. I try and learn a little Thai, but it isn't easy unless I'm doing it a lot, which I'm not, having no one else here that speaks both besides my girlfriend, who I talk with in English. My ex speaks a little English, but the lack of communication we had wasn't from that but from her past history and failing to climb out of it. Narcissism runs in her family. Covert, not malignant. I don't care to integrate for those reasons, because this isn't home to me. And my daughter will do a thousand times better back home.

How to throw out my girlfriend's son out of the house?
More likely the absence of his father, who could have taught him independence and not becoming a mama's boy that needs to go home and disrupt the life there.

Did you appreciate living in the 70s, 80s and 90s?
I'm not into electronica or hip hop. Classical, is great,I grew up listening to my dad's Mantovani, Chopin, Back, Schubert, Brahms, etc etc records and will always have them in my heart. Try Neal Casal for one. Folk and rock, not hard. Took his own life from depression a few years back, but was not only a solo artist with a dozen good cd's, in another 6 bands, but contributed to many others albums. Progressive rock, Mostly Autumn, who have some of the best female singers in rock, Of course Enya, my personal favorite female singer. Downes Braide Association, The Flower Kings, Pendragon, Proto Kaw, RPWL, Spock's Beard, The Old North, Mark Knopfler (still making good music), just to name a few. If you look these artists up, others will appear that are relatively new and comparable. If you like Southern Rock, Rival Sons, Robert Jon and the Wreck, Blackberry Smoke, Whiskey Myers, The Steel Woods, are some that aren't too heavy but along the line of the Allman Brothers, Skynyrd and The Outlaws.

How to throw out my girlfriend's son out of the house?
Men disappear every day,no matter what a woman looks like, because they are idiots and or, users. Nothing wrong with a 40 year old Thai woman, as I've seen many here that are gorgeous. Especially seeing many men think they are better looking than they actually are, and think they somehow deserve more. they don't. You deserve what you give out, nothing more. There are women here that pass on good men because they never learned from their mostly absent or absent fathers, what a relationship with a man is. So they go for the money, thinking they at least will have a home to live in and a better chance of a future than with a local, who wants nothing to do with her kids, and is only there for sex.

How did I confirm your theory about music when I stated a lot of good music has been coming out all along? Many, and I mean millions, of people have no idea what is out there. Most good music doesn't hit the radio stations. Most is pop music, which sounds a lot the same, promoted towards teenagers who go to their concerts, buy their music, and have no idea there is tons of music much better that they will never hear. There are progressive rock bands, who have some of the best musicians worldwide, that never get heard by again, millions of people, because promoters themselves either don't understand what good music is, or go for the money, the teens and early 20 crowd that buy a certain kind. Some people live their whole lives not knowing hat good music is. My girlfriend here had only heard some of what's popular of American and European music, not getting close to touching what I've turned her onto the last almost 3 years. She understands English pretty well, and I've been turning her onto music 95% of Thais will never hear, and also movies that will never be seen on any Thai channels besides the same action movies with the same stars. All about money. If you told me what genre of music you like, hopefully not pop, I can give you examples of new or relatively new music that's good. When I say good, I mean musically, melodic, good lyrics, rockin', drawn out guitar solos, etc. Of course most music innovation came out from the 50's to the 80's, and a lot are copying others styles, but that doesn't mean there isn't any good sounding music that's new now.

The difficulty of avoiding sugar in Thailand.
I said BASICALLY, meaning how the body breaks them down. Fact, not a guess. Sugar, meaning refined, table, whatever, is not good for a body. Small amounts here and there , aren't going to hurt. Large amounts, meaning what people add, PLUS what they get from all food that contains sugar, and those that have hidden amounts, WILL hurt a body eventually. Please try not to assume what I do or don't know.I can look up links as easy as anyone else. Difference being, I've been into nutrition and working out, what to eat and what not to, for over 50 years. You think I don't understand what goes on nutrition wise? Anything you can read, I did all along those 50 years. Some is bu**<deleted>,meaning opinions, and a lot is studies. I never said they chemically are the same. they are close, and break down about the same. You can believe sugar is okay for you. I prefer to do what I've always done, and maintain low bodyfat, low resting pulse and blood pressure, and low cholesterol, for all my life. How? By reading all I can about what food does and doesn't do. You can quote all you want and post links, many of which are opinions, and it doesn't matter. The post is about difficulty in avoiding sugar here. It is hard, because, not only here but everywhere else, companies add sugar and salt to most everything, because people aren't all reading what happens with sugar in your body, don't care, or like it too much to change. Picking apart what others write and not fully understanding what is written doesn't work. Here's another for your sake...............https://kansasfarmfoodconnection.org/spotlights/which-is-better-sugar-or-high-fructose-corn-syrup

The difficulty of avoiding sugar in Thailand.
I know how sugars break down in the body. I stated basically the same for a reason. Sugar has many various forms. Grains have sugar, but refined, meaning white, brown, corn syrup etc all should be voided as much as possible, and entirely by those who have diabetes. This is what this post is about. I've been into this for over 50 years, and have read most of what is out about it. Some of course post things just to sell, the main reason sugar is put in food because companies know it's addictive. All sugar if not burned off quickly, will be stored as fat, and if you keep eating too much sugar, your body will use that as a source of fuel and not stored fat. I didn't mean you were going by what others have told you. It was a general statement, because a lot do.

I know some fisherman lie, but I don't. What's the point there? People all lie sometimes, but some lie to upset others intentionally, to get what they want, or to scam others. How does a golfer lie if you're playing with them? Did they say they shot under par on a difficult course? Who cares ,if they can't back it up? I have a best friend who sometimes exaggerates the fish he catches, although he is a decent fisherman, to me, someone who knows him since 1965. What's the point?

The difficulty of avoiding sugar in Thailand.
Yes, they are. Look up links, like the one I provided, on reputable sites, instead of going by what one person might have told you, who wasn't in the game. They aren't exactly the same of course, but the main thing here is that the body breaks them down the same way.

As comparing that to here, where lying is considered normal behavior?

It always amazes me when I see someone making such a statement. That would mean you've seen almost 3 million expats and their actions while living here. Or just making that using 9 out of 10, which isn't accurate when you're involving millions. How does one look insecure? Or weird? How do visiting families seem normal? Just wondering. I've seen people acting a little strange but didn't know what was on their minds. Maybe they just lost a wife or child, divorced, lost a job etc.

No, I'm average height.

And taller doesn't mean better, as it looks like from your comment. Just so you know..............https://www.dryukselyurttas.com/post/average-height-men-and-women

Under 6 feet isn't short. Average height for westerners is 5'-5' 10". Only 20% of the world's population is over 6'. In the US it's less.

What kind of weather person are you ?
Would love to hunt in Buffalo County there. Lived in NJ, so I understand not missing the winters.

Actually, most farangs I see here are either average height or tall. As far as a small penis, that's a common trait among locals, and how would you know if you haven't seen any farangs? Tall people are not in any way superior than anyone else, besides the fact they can usually dunk.

I came here to be with my ex and daughter. I found foreigners to relate. Westerners can understand other westerners because they lived that life. I see prejudice here between Brits and Americans, which I cannot understand. It's not like it's us against them, because I have no prejudice towards Thais, especially seeing my ex and gf now are Thai, and my daughter is half. I just can't relate as much to them as i can other foreigners. We, especially other Americans, have walked the same ground, fished the same kinds of places, hunted deer in different areas. As far as Europeans, I can talk with them about their countries, because many of them are on my bucket list.

I've had the best of wine from most every country. I used to live next to NYC,and they get everything. Australian Shiraz and Chardonnay are among the best imports, and they were good as I remember, especially the Shiraz, which Australia is known for.

Why, because you live on a mountain in northern Thailand?

Australia is one of the best places to catch a big marlin, the Great Barrier Reef, and although I've had Australian wine, I prefer German, French, Spain and Italian wines, so that's where I will go in Europe, along with Auschwitz, The Scottish highlands, a few pubs in Ireland, sights in England, Italy and Soain.

You do make many disparaging remarks about farangs, even though you are one, so that makes it easier to reply. Just what does a loser look like? You can't say it's because of the clothes they wear, because comfortable is more important than style, except to the high society lowlifes that think they are above others. farangs hang out with other farangs mainly because we can relate to each other, with some exceptions, present company suspected, many of us can't speak fluent Thai, so can't hold a meaningful conversation with locals. Like I mentioned earlier, I know quite a few farangs here, and none are losers as far as what a loser means to most of us. If you talk to others like you talk to us here, I'm very aware why you don't have any friends. There is help for that, with the exception of you possibly being a narcissist, which really has no hope. They act superior but are hiding behind a facade of inferiority. I have been watching your replies for a long time now, and I don't see many which are helpful. Why put down farangs all the time? People are people everywhere. All countries have their share of narcissists, weirdos, empaths, losers, users, abusers, and power hungry officials. There are amongst those many good people, who like the company of others of their own kind. I have no problem hanging out with Thais here, as my girlfriend has quite a few she works with and are neighbors, who we sit with and share a few beers. I don't understand much of what they are saying, but I can see they accept me, and vice versa. The conversations are usually between my gf and them, but she translates when they are asking me questions. With farangs, the conversations can get a lot more involved, which is why we hang out together.

I don't pretend to be an expert on anything. I do understand women, and relationships, and how they work, even if I have had a few that went sour, like most of us. Music I do know, as well as most anyone on earth, because like hunting and fishing, it's a passion. I have over 40,000 cd's, which would explain that to most anyone, and I know the music on them, meaning I only buy or burn music that is good, and don't waste my time listening to soulless pap.

I don't know many farangs, maybe 60 total or so, that I've either worked with, met from here, met in a gym, pizza place, Tesco or others. I really don't spend much time with them but when I do, they all seems to be pretty nice, with a few exceptions. All seem to drink, and spend a lot of time in bars together. Nothing wrong there, just not what I do besides occasionally, and usually when there's food. I don't pry, so I can't assume otherwise, but to me it seems many drink more here than they did before moving here. I actually do also, but it's beer instead of my usual wine, which wasn't much besides sharing a good bottle with friends. I don't know more than what I've seen, but many of them have a good relationship with their wives, all of whom speak okay English, from as far as I can see. One never knows what goes on behind closed doors, but you can tell if they are close, and many seem to be. I really like a few of these farangs, as we have shared interests, and some are from America, which is good because of that. Many are Brits, Irishmen, Scots, German or Aussies, and we speak of their countries, because Europe and Australia are on my bucket list. Europe to see all the old architecture, the food, scenery, wine areas, etc, and Australia to catch a marlin before I die. A few, like I mentioned, are real characters, but harmless, so that's not a problem. I don't see any of them as losers. Some have made a mistake, like me, in coming here, so we can relate.

A lot of people actually. I know music, and from your statement, I can see you don't. Pretty simple.
