Police are interviewing suspect in killing of health insurance CEO
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Amazing how useful the public can be in locating an on the run criminal if given something more to work with than just a description such as "man from Rotherham". Hopefully the UK police will take note of this proven to work tactic and will adopt such an approach in future for both white and non white suspected criminals on the loose. -
As much as I would love the king to justify the money/privilege he receives by using his alleged power to demolish this absolute shambles of a clown show of a government, there is no way he would do so. He understands that he is tolerated so long as he doesn't actually rule over anything and he is well aware the moment he does will be the start of the end of the monarchy in the UK.

Badenoch Criticizes Starmer's McDonald’s Joke, Citing Double Standards
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I agree with you (for a change) and it is embarrassing that Badenoch is lowering herself to race grifting. There was no racist intent in the joke that Starmers script writers provided for him and jokes are just that... jokes. This one was mildly amusing, completely harmless and only a weak leader would take umbrage with it. She is really not cut out to be a conservative leader and my concerns that she only got the job so that she could provide exactly this kind of DEI defense against Labour criticisms seem to be merited. -
Ok thats fine as I have never been efficient at moving money from bank to investment anyway. So (and I am exaggerating for absolute clarity here I don't have this much money - sadly) if I have a £10 million bank balance in a UK bank account as at 31 December 2023 I can transfer up to £10 million into Thailand over the next several years/decades and I am not required to pay 1 single baht in tax on it?
-
Every now and again this topic raises its head enough for me to notice and I think I am in similar waters (except IRS). My strategy was to transfer enough cash to last me 2 years at the end of last year and see what happens, with a view to spending 180 days outside of Thailand in year 3 when I then replenish the bank account with another 2 years worth of spending without incurring Thai tax. Like all the best, most meticulously laid out plans, it didn't meet with the reality so my 2 years worth of cash looks like it will last about 1.5 years. It's already been a year now since they announced this and I still have no idea if what I would classify as "savings" (income accrued overseas prior to 2024) is classified by Thailand as "income" when remitted into Thailand and subject to tax, so I am not optimistic I will be any the wiser in 1, 2 or 3 years time.

Starmer Dilutes Pledges Amid Economic Challenges
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
That figure might be correct if every single non-dom remains in the UK and does nothing whatsoever to either relocate or rearrange their tax matters. In reality it will be nothing like £3.2bn and just like every attempt to "tax the rich" it will probably end up costing more to the economy than it raises. Even the Tories were not so incompetent to go down that road. Just look at the reaction of farangs over here facing the prospect of being taxed on their overseas income (like the non-doms in the UK). Virtually every single one is looking at ways of avoiding this, by either gifting it, looking at double taxation treaties or simply ensuring they do not stay in Thailand for 180 days of a calendar year when they replenish their bank accounts. -
Starmer Dilutes Pledges Amid Economic Challenges
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Once these morons realise that growth has stalled and/or we are in recession and they cannot afford to give £13bn to overseas climate aid, or pay £5.8bn a year for illegal immigrants, or spaff £22bn on carbon capture, or the £13bn foreign aid budget, or £8bn on GB energy or any of the other virtue signaling vanity projects they will be faced with a "tough" choice.. To either scrap the spending on this nonsense or punish the working/middle class with means tested pensions (just for private sector workers), even more taxes or other punitive measures. I think we all know which option these morons will choose. My bet is on means tested state pensions for private sector workers as they really hate the pensioners. -
Thai E-Cigarette Debate Sparks Health Experts' Outrage
James105 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The tobacco industry has done very well to ensure that a safer means of ingesting nicotine is kept illegal in so many countries. Even convincing people that they are equally dangerous as actual smoking and encouraging the ridiculous notion that using vapes could lead to the far more dangerous activity of actual smoking whilst ensuring the proven to be highly dangerous activity is kept legal and the safer (or much less harmful) option is kept illegal. Well done big tobacco. You have managed to keep a highly toxic, cancerous product available to be sold legally, whilst at the same time ensuring the much less harmful competitor is illegal. You have many useful idiots (as evidenced by this thread) on your side too to help spread your propaganda. The money spent on lobbying and bribes has been well spent it seams. -
Did Badenoch not have the wherewithal to think on her feet and correct him on the spot about this? Doesn't bode well for her really. Still think Jenrick was the obvious and better choice. Starmer is simply a moron and he has already proven how bad he was at his previous job with the celebrity pedophiles that escaped justice under his watch, so it comes as no surprise he doesn't even know what a conviction is. I just wish he would get his inevitable resignation over and done with so the country can start to begin the recovery from his disastrous time in office. Not that he wouldn't be replaced with another absolute clown of course but its difficult to think of anyone worse suited to this job (apart from Labbot of course)

We have Ed Milliband making great strides to make the UK poorer, destroy businesses and make energy the most expensive on the planet and is also spaffing £22bn on pointless carbon capture and £13bn on overseas corruption climate aid in the name of this scam. It's the equivalent of men in Afghanistan glueing themselves to goats and holding up banners saying "Just stop women's rights".

If you read the article rather than just looking at the pictures you would see that she confirms it is her claiming "it was an awful angle". Are you claiming that no human could possibly look so abominable and only an AI could conjure up such a monstrosity of an image of a human? That's not very nice is it?
-
I was thinking that it could be. I imagine the AI prompt would be something like "give me an image of a cross between Jo Brand, Eddie Izzard and a Telly Tubby sitting on the Labour benches in parliament after neglecting to eat the type of breakfast that is now banned from advertising pre-watershed". I expect it would produce an abomination like that. But it is a real image of a real Labour MP at "work". https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-56450997

British Man Arrested for Sexual Assault of 6-Year-Old Thai Stepdaughter
James105 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I doubt he uploaded them to social media (as we know it) as it required the UK National Crime agency to notify Thailand authorities, so not just the average consumer of social media as most normal folks would have reported that kind of thing immediately. I expect he was trying to sell them on the dark web to fund his Thailand adventures and it is just as well he did really as the mum didn't know about it and the 6 year old would be too scared to report it. This could have carried on for several more terrifying years for that child i if not for that. -
Out of the 13.9 million people who lived in the UK in 1833 at the time slavery was abolished, just 46,000 were slave owners which is about 0.33% of the population. If the ancestors of those who owned slaves feel weirdly guilty about something that their great, great, great, great, great, grandparents did and wanted to drop a few coins in a reparations tin then I have no problem with that, but not one penny should come from the UK taxpayer for this, ever. The UK has more than paid its dues for this in blood and money when it abolished the trade from the Empire.

Perhaps if this abomination of a Labour MP had her/him/it/they/zi oats in the morning then her/him/it/they/zi might be able to stay awake whilst at work

Starmer Goes all in with Trump Praise at Prestigious Banquet
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Starmer is a weak, cowardly man, behaving like a beta male when faced against a stronger male (which is probably most of the male population). He is a "man" of such weak character he daren't stand up to a man he viscerally disagrees with. I doubt very much that Trump respects such cowardice and equally doubt he has forgotten the behaviour of the Labour front bench previously including Starmer. -
Woke Culture Far From Dead, and Thriving in the UK, Look at the BBC
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
If you are an employee then you now cost more for your employer to employ you, but you don't see that money. Congrats, you have been hoodwinked into thinking you are unaffected by the tax rises and when you next try asking for a pay rise this NI increase will be taken into account. -
The Tories were a mess as they weren't really "conservative". Too many woke policies, too much immigration, taxes too high, state too large, authoritarian during covid, team Globe rather than team UK and leading participants in the net zero scam. They have also chosen another WEF globalist as a leader rather than an actual conservative as they wanted to beat the DEI drum in some kind of foolish scheme to out woke labour. The UK is in a bit of a pickle and it seems very difficult to see how it can get out of this without scientists figuring out a way to reincarnate Maggie Thatcher.
-
Sure but just because they believe something to be so doesn't make it a fact nor does it mean everyone else to believe it or go along with their fantasy. I could believe I was Brad Pitt. Does that then mean everyone else has to call me Brad and give me the right to sleep with Angelina Jolie? Of course not.

They are not banned from playing team sports. You need to stop spreading this lie. If they are a man (trans woman) then they can play on the mens team. They should be banned from playing on the women's team as they are not women. An average male athlete becomes elite level if allowed to compete against women, which is why it is unfair on actual women to allow men pretending to be women to compete against them.
