In the many times I have travelled overseas through the Thai customs machine, going through BKK I have never gotten my bag scanned, same at DMK. However in the rare case i have terminated an overseas trip directly in CM, they quite often Xray bags. once had to pay 2000baht duty on my 3d printer. I ebb with caution now, except lately they either don't check, or they say only need to check one bag, which is strange.  The last time through BKK there was a line of Chinese waiting to get scanned at the Xray, and I just sailed right past without a word.

I read a few months ago that new X-ray scanners are being introduced at the airports so all check-in luggage can be scanned. Whether they will scan all incoming luggage also is something that was not stated.  If they do be careful about bringing in all those extra bottles of expensive booze... as well as foodstuffs and pills.

  2. It used to be a not uncommon sight to see women urinating in public in Vietnam. They would hitch up their skirts and squat down.....but to save their embarrassment they would turn around to hide their faces......and present their back-sides for public view.

  3. I have just returned from overseas and submitted my details on the Android Section38 TM-30 app. (previously registered with Username and password). Not sure if the following has been addressed before.

The details submitted OK but with the following 'problems'.

Date of Birth.  There seems to be no way of easily inputting your DOB. there is a monthly calendar shown for today's month and year. So to enter my DOB I would have to swipe backwards 12 x 65 times i.e. 780 times to get back to 1953. I gave up and left this entry blank.

Visa type. I could not find a NON-0 or a NON-RE visa on the dropdown list. So I settled for NON-O 90 days

But my name and PP details are now recorded (minus DOB)

  4. Just how dangerous is taking Ibuprofen when on blood thinners?

I am taking half a Lixiana (edoxaban) 60 mg tablet a day and have read about the serious warnings against taking anti-inflammatories including Ibuprofen. (Problems stem from internal bleeding).

I find that one or even half a tablet a day of Ibuprofen can give me substantial relief with joint aches and pains if I have been overdoing my exercise or walking too much.

For a generally healthy person is taking a small does really such a stupid thing to do when it can provide such benefits? Is it an acceptable risk?

    Any opinions welcome.

  5. A friend of mine sent 2 parcels to New Zealand by the cheapest surface mail route. They both eventually arrived after over 4  months. I doubt they were on the high seas for that time, or that NZ customs were unusually slow (normally takes about 5 days in NZ).

So one can only assume that the parcels were in Thailand waiting to be consolidated into a large container before shipping. Most people would choose the faster Surface Air Lifted, or airmail options.

  6. Just measured on my balcony pm 2.5 reading 6.

I am located between Silom Road and Surawong Road so the air is exceptionally clean, after the rain? these days. A few months ago readings were between 25 and 50

  7. Go to the Piammitr Language School in the Trendy Building Suk Soi 13.  Small, friendly, classes. One month, 20 days,  3 hours a day for 6,000 baht, morning or afternoon.

Evenings, weekend, and private lessons also available (higher rates apply).

I can recommend this school from personal experience.

  8. Surely just a translation of your yellow book or ID would work. Just have the translation company stamp and sign it. I doubt that it has to be a notarised copy.

You may still have a problem with Thai bills in your name as even though your name is in English, parts of the address may be in Thai.

All that sounds like you have registered to 90 days reporting.

The notify.residence system only ever replied me with one email that has username and password used to login to file TM30.

Actually 2 emails (for me anyway). The first was asking me to confirm my email address (just had to click on the link attached). This arrived within an hour or so.

The second was the username and password. Took about 2 days.

But the document copies I enclosed were the same documents I produced when I made my first TM30 report in person at CW about 2 weeks earlier.

Without a username and password one is not successfully registered.
