Maybe we should start a poll: How many people have anti virus software on their phones?
And how many people ever had a virus on their phone?
I bet the answers are: few and few.
Don't overcomplicate life.
I know people who have installed dodgy applications and who are served up endless ads after clicking on something.
People who are experienced in using mobile phone apps but don't even have an ad blocker on their Browser.
So yes, some people need extra help. To suggest otherwise is a bit foolish.
Seeing the questions posed here on a daily basis, you should understand that.
You or I might understand how to protect ourselves to a certain extent, but many people will just click wherever they are asked.

And where abouts in the country you are. Some areas have better reception than others
Plus some promotions can only be applied in certain areas. Can be utilised anywhere, but the registration has to be done initially in certain areas.
e.g. AIS's 4 Mbps Unlimited pack for new SIM @ 150 baht. If done in the specific areas, you'll get free and unlimited(other than 15 minute per call restriction) any network calls. Otherwise you'll only be eligible for the pack without the free any network calls.

I guess DTAC offers comparable?
I want to switch from True to DTAC and would be interested in the
"Unlimited 10 Mbps + free calls to all networks, 220 baht per month" or similar.
The original post was in answer to someone requesting packs to add to existing SIM. Both DTAC and Truemove H have options to add packs to existing SIM, as opposed to within seven days on a new SIM.
Anyone with an existing DTAC number, can apply unlimited 1, 4 & 10 Mbps packs over 90, 180 & 365 days.
i.e.
1 Mbps over 180 days @ 1069 baht. 1 Mbps over 365 days @ 1711 baht.
4 Mbps over 180 days @ 1283 baht. 4 Mbps over 365 days @ 2139 baht.
10 Mbps over 180 days @ 2139 baht. 10 Mbps over 365 days @ 3209 baht.
90 days; 748, 1069 & 1711 baht respectively.
All can be added via USSD code.

You guessed wrongly ????
Even if you port your Truemove H number to a new DTAC SIM, there is no guarantee that the USSD code(*104*345*9#) for their 15 Mbps for 200 baht pack is still working. Now only showing 2 to 10 Mbps packs attached to user applicable USSD codes.
AIS's 15 Mbps USSD code confirmed to be still working..
The Truemove H offer is attached to Truemove H. I have no idea as to how your brain extrapolated that to being available on DTAC. That package is currently 350 baht via DTAC.
Cheaper to grab one of DTAC's annual SIM in that case, especially if you have a dual SIM phone.
If still working, the code for new DTAC SIM and applying 15 Mbps plus free calls to any network, is *104*577*9# 200 baht per month.
But again, no guarantees that it will be working by the time you want to use it.

the latter sadly
One of these days these so called "experts" will post the short codes to all these outstanding deals over unlimited at high speed for 200 baht or less for AIS TRUE and Dtac
Instead they'll post spurious links to 3rd party websites which are utterly useless for 95% here
I'll try again (not aimed at you hammer)
Truemove existing Sim probably of 10 years
Give me a short code of an unlimited internet (throttled is fine) for lets say 300 baht a month (we'll be generous)
Dont send links to anything else please pure short codes on True
Not a years deal !!! Month by month !
Currently available for Truemove H SIM activated at least a year ago:
Unlimited 4 Mbps 150 baht per month
Unlimited 4 Mbps + free calls to all networks, 165 baht per month
Unlimited 10 Mbps 200 per month
Unlimited 10 Mbps + free calls to all networks, 220 baht per month
Codes can be found if you look around or you can communicate with a suitable vendor.

You mean to get a SIM from all providers, put some Data on each one and see which is best?
In my case, the problem was solved by locking on to a particular band. If the device chooses the 'wrong' band, the dropouts, as described, can occur.

Probably not worth mentioning, but with the Truemove H packs, you get access to the True ID Ultimate package with perhaps a free month of Truevisions Now Lite.
Probably of no interest to most, though who knows? ????

Thanks Bruno
Very rarely make old fashioned calls, usually use Line or Messenger so I probably won't use that facility at all.
I live in Hua Hin, used AIS and True for internet whilst on the move but not DTAC so not sure of coverage here but that looks the best value.
As you mentioned earlier, if you were surviving on 5 GB previously, chances are you'd be okay with 100 GB.
It's possibly down to offers you the best coverage.

DTAC has a couple of options, dependent on whether you actually use your phone for making old fashioned voice calls.
They have Infinity SIM that offers Unlimited data at up to 6 Mbps with unlimited voice calls to any network included.

Isn't that a lot? I pay for wi fi in my home which gave me 5GB for my phone to use if I was away from home, on the beach etc and I only exceeded it a couple of times. I don't watch movies or stream or download anything on my phone.
I've upgraded my home internet to fibre 500 Mbps from 200 Mbps but that package doesn't come with internet for my phone. Hence the need for an annual sim, only to look Line, a bit of FB etc
3 GB per day. Only you will know if it's enough or not. The other networks have unlimited for less. Also with unlimited any network calls if necessary. Depends on what product suits you best

I am also looking to buy a year internet sim card, someone mentioned, maybe on another thread, a AIS marathon card with 15 mbps for around 1590 on Lazada.
I looked at a few of these on Lazada but when I translated the Thai text in the description some said activate by 1/1/22 or 1/6/22, all dates in the past.
Anyone bought one with a futue date on please and where, link if possible to lazada or Shopee.
TIA

Only 100 GB per month.

Why on CD? Most devices these days don't even have an optical drive. In addition, the image on the CD may be outdated.
Some kind of perceived security advantage?

Plug it in and go YES
firestick isn't any better than Chinese Short answer No
I think very similar prices now 30-40 USD,
These devices are basically mini computers, without Keyboard, Screen etc, they normally have minimum Storage also as this concept is all about streaming.
HUGE selection, but you'll have to install Software-App's (Programmes) to really use it properly, each device manufacturer will try and make you use their own Software-App's.
I pay arguably too much for my UK TV 6,500 THB per year, but I've tried so called free stuff and cheaper stuff, and after 12-18 months the software goes a bit funny.
so i pay and I'm extremely happy with the service, no VPN as that must already be incorporated into the software Application. I can rewind the TV channels for 7 rolling days, and watch for example last night News at 10 as live, it also has a library of recent movies & TV (catch up Video on demand VOD).
PM me and i can send you link to the one I use.
good luck and play around with whatever you get
Firestick is certified to play NetFlix in high definition. Cheap Chinese boxes cannot.

Have used Kaspersky on my laptops for years.
Still learning even the basics of an Android smart phone.
Is it worth using Kaspersky with the phone ?
How easy is it to install ?
Any hints ?
NB - I intend to use Kaspersky from CD even though it's more expensive.
ThanksWhy from CD and why more expensive? Not sure how you would get it from a CD to an Android phone anyway...

At around 140 baht per kg, they would have to be around 7kg each.
