It's even more ironic that the biggest supporters of Brexit here, long since packed up and moved to Thailand. Now lobbing stones from afar.

Nope, not even slightly. You really should not get your observations of life in the UK from the Garuniad,, it's not true you know.
You really should stop attempting to gaslight the readers here. There are most certainly empty shelves and shortages of goods in the supermarkets.
Would you like picture proof or are you still living in Brexit fantasy?

But we are not queuing for hours at Passport Control. There are 66 million of us still here in the UK, beginning to enjoy the fruits of freedom from the EU. If a few europhiles are so desperate to all leave for France at the same time, more fool them. They should know what the French are like, especially at their holiday time too. Are there any air traffic control strike planned next month?
In the whole scheme of Brexit a few hours delay at Dover is nothing important. We don't care.
Beginning to enjoy? What exactly are you beginning to enjoy? It's already years since.
Sad.

I agree with members who advise against buying secondhand electronics, especially when base model devices are so cheap.
Give an example of an alternative to a 2014 Dell Latitude E6330 for 2900 baht.
What base model would you suggest? With SSD if you please.
Cheap consumer base model will likely not allow you to fit an SSD without voiding the warranty.
So suggest what I should have bought instead of spending 2.9k on a second hand business quality device with a fingerprint reader. 600 baht more for a SSD that was inserted in seconds. So, 3.5k.
Look forward to your actual base model suggestions.
I note that not even a single one of the naysayers has actually suggested what the OP should buy, other than "new".

I have just looked around tucom at the battered second hand laptops on offer. I have to agree, the used machines look pricey and they also look as though they suffered through a tornado. ????
I told you to not bother going there Old and overpriced consumer quality devices.
Go to pick up a business quality device for 4 to 5k.
If you want something new and shiny, buy new.

It was the French staff not turning up for work which caused the delays and the Frenches technology broke .
Brexit rules have been in place for 30 months now , you cannot blame Brexit for your own Countries failings , besides , you should have measures in place to deal with any delays connected to Brexit
Convenient word blindness?
QuoteBecause of the Covid pandemic’s travel restrictions this is the first summer since Britain left the EU in which tourist passengers are experiencing full passport checks.
What measures should they put in place? They didn't vote for Brexit.
Another twenty booths for passport checks? Who should pay for that?

Is AIS's offer of 30-day at speed 10mb and unlimited for 1100 B very good?
https://m.ais.co.th/10Mbps30Dais?httpRedirect=0&httpRedirect=0&controller=userInteraction
It's very good for AIS; not so good for when it comes to value for money.
You can get the same and better from them for 200 baht for 30 days. Unlimited 15 Mbps with any new AIS SIM.

could you post these magic papers.
and let me pretend i will buy into whatever testing they are saying. i just spent 2 weeks back home in canada smoking all kinds of tested products. earlier this year i met a real master grower and smoked his product. his product at 27 was far superior than anything i smoked back home that supposedly tested well over 30 percent.
most people are straight up lying in this industry.
Some lie; some just make it up.

I can tell also, after 50 years of 'experimenting'
Doing a tester last night, actually for the carbon filter, if smoother smoke if using, and any absorption of THC while using.
Carbon filter failed miserably, as no additional 'smoothness' noted.
On to % content ... half of a half gram doobie, and feeling fine.
Percentage rating ... DAMN GOOD, after 1/4 gr ingested. Lasted a couple hours.
Green Lab's Thai Stick – Tanaosri WA1 (฿79 / gr + ฿60 shipping = ฿139 gr)
Rated at around 9% THC. Which is clearly good enough for you and many others.
No need for the bogus figures bandied around. Accompany them with the testing papers and I might begin to take them seriously.

Do the speed tests in the location where you actually stream the movies. Top up, add the full speed day pack and then run the speed tests.

Then I think you know your answer. It's likely nothing to do with your home connection. But if you want to, you can choose to move up in speed, just in case.
Is the AIS SIM in a phone? You can temporarily add a full speed pack to the current SIM, in order to find out the highest speed you can get with them currently. Typing in *777*7022# using the phone keypad and the pressing the Dial key, gives 600 MB in volume for 21.40 baht. Enough to run a few speed tests.
If you obtain higher speeds than 10 Mbps, then you can consider moving up to whatever pack fits with your max speed on your speed tests. i.e Unlimited 15, 20 or 30 Mbps.
So add the pack and give it a go.

What about this one Bruno ..... 6 months / 599 baht ?
comment in the reviews : Used on the building's 4th floor in the community area. NT mobile will release the download pipe higher than the upload already. Usually runs DL 20-40 Mbps UL around 5-8 Mpbs. Anyone who focuses on uploading may not be suitable. Relatively save mobile battery because it has only one wave Mobile phones do not have to find other waves. Open hotspot all day, the device is not hot. Overall very good value for doing WFH.
I mentioned it earlier. It's ONLY for those who know they have good LTE Band 40 reception at home.

This is a good time to test your device's streaming ability again; now we can see that the speed is currently up to par.
First with a reliable site such as YouTube. e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_YU0HWFzo4
Click on the small cog in the bottom right hand corner of the video in order to select the quality of the video you want YouTube to serve you. 1080p should play smoothly.
What equipment are you using to watch/play the media?

Can I really get a sim card for 1500 Baht/year with unlimited internet and unlimited calls within network? It seems too good to be true? Am I missing something?
Do I need to reply? Did I post an unlimited option for 1500 baht? I did not. ????
Unlimited options were at 1400, 1700 & 1800. The AIS option is not unlimited; though likely more than good enough for GPS.
For home use, if you want AIS, you can get unlimited data and unlimited any network calls from 150 baht per 30 days.
All networks offer similarly.

Yes, we know. They can claim whatever they want, it seems. Doesn't means that's what it is. They same goes for your

But selected carefully they can suit my needs
There was really no need to respond to the obvious Trolls. You obtain what suits your needs, rather than their sensibilities.
The Latitude described earlier will easily run the latest OS smoothly, especially with an inexpensive SSD within.
I bought a laptop that originally cost 47,000 baht; for 3,000.
https://notebookspec.com/notebook/5047-dell-latitude-e6330-v7263301th.html
It even has a fingerprint reader. The build is solid and it is designed for easy modification. Swapping storage drives takes literally seconds. Consumer designs often have to be taken apart for simple maintenance.

Yes, that is one of the native strains promoted by the government; one of the strains in the research paper.

I am not confused with concern to the subject. I read the research papers. Someone posted a link to them earlier.
They are one of the four native strains promoted by the Thai government.

No need for a link; these are personal pics. Hardly any goods on shelves and they weren't replenished whilst in the supermarket; so more useless remarks.
Really quite sad that is the best spin you can put on Brexit.
