Doubtful. They are likely just eliminating the competition. Wouldn't be surprised if another company sprang up servicing the same customers...but under different ownership. "Make hay whilst the suns shines" goes the saying.

30,000,000 baht may be too tempting to just scrap. 76 kgs? Destroyed? Hmm. Maybe it will be tested and if ok, might go into the 'legal' products you can purchase, at a premium.

I'm not sure why certain members are still banging the 'drugs' thing when the 'government' is selling it themselves now.

I, for one, say live and let live. If someone tells me that it helps with their anxiety, I won't insist on denying it to them; like some here who think they have the right to judge others.

Nature provided it for a reason. Likely those who take it, need it.

We aren't all the same. Some have a chemical imbalance. We see it all the time with some of the posts here. So if a natural substance and I emphasise 'natural', can help them, then I don't understand why certain individuals, who might exhibit some rather strange behaviour themselves, insist on labelling other people negatively.

To answer your questions truthfully,  there is no easy one fix solution to the Covid19 global epidemic as every country is now struggling to contain and manage effectively. Look at the US, and the UK at present with number escalating to their highest daily numbers for those becoming infected and deaths, look at italy, India.  Could the situation have been handled better, yes of course it could have,  the vaccine procurement could have been handled better,  but did Khun Prayut have a crystal ball so he could confirm a third wave of the virus was imminent.

Did any other PM that your aware of handle things so differently that it's impact wasn't felt ? Do other countries have a readied supply of vaccines.? I think most will be waiting months if not into next year.  I think lockdowns are essential to help curb the spread of the virus,  also, I read where Australia has developed a 10 minute Covid19 test result, so if millions of these kits were available to households at least those infected could seek treatment instead of continued transmission outside.  This coupled with vaccine rollout .....  a double whammy approach is the only way to knock Covid on the head. imo

You did not answer any of my questions. You just tried to deflect.

What do you think of Prayut's current performance? No reply.

Do you thing he, as the COVID-19 Czar, has discharged his duty to the public in an exemplary manner, in terms of the handling of the COVID-19 crisis, to include the nation's economy and health?  Your reply was.... if he had a crystal ball.

Is it that you see him as the best of a bad lot or do you think all his decisions have been wise is this regard? A bit of obfuscation here possibly covered by the crystal ball question.

What are your views on the decision to allow people to travel widely for Songkran? No reply.

You intimate that he is cunning and intelligent etc, but instead of using the traits that you insist that he has, you now state that he would instead need a crystal ball.

What is your opinion of Thamanat Prompow, also known as Thammanat Prompao, Yuthaphum Bophlom, Manat Bophlom, and Patchara Prompao being the "main artery" in Prayuth's government? Another one who appears to be rather frugal with the truth.

    He described himself thus: https://web.archive.org/web/20190911193303/https://www.nytimes.com/reuters/2019/09/10/world/asia/10reuters-thailand-politics.html

and the position he has been given within the party seems to confirm that.

Also read about other MPs claiming that he helped them out with cash...

Is intelligence and cunning used only to enrich themselves? I ask because I don't see any plan to revive the economy other than the patently ridiculous.

Has your opinion of the man and the party changed over the years?

I ask you because you seem to be very positive about all he does. So perhaps you would be best to know of and understand his achievements.

So far, it's not looking good. Try again.

You can answer my questions honestly or you can choose to stay silent....up to you.

Your statement is based on the premise that he's actually calling the shots and isn't just the public face of those who really do.

The problem with Thai politicians who actually call the shots is that they don't last long before they're ousted.

I made no statement. I asked questions. Some understood why.

And you will still need cords and receptacles to provide power to each of the speakers, yes?

Depends on the solution chosen. I will assume by receptacle you might be referring to a charging dock or similar. Overall it's not sensible to expect no wires with such a system and especially at that price.

    Example: https://th.jbl.com/bluetooth-speakers/CONTROL+X+WIRELESS.html

https://www.powerbuy.co.th/en/jbl-ลำโพง-2-0-jbl-controlx-wireless-red-229543 Not under 1000 baht and no sub-woofer.

Ok, please don't call me retarded 555 but when it comes to this stuff I need to make sure my understanding is correct, I know is not a lot of money but still not wanting to be caught on some misunderstanding as the seller says BT for Bluetooth and some people said there was not BT.... you said yours has it, thus good for me, now the simple yet complicated question.

It appears the set comprises of 3 pieces, the central piece/amplifier or whatever it's called  that connects to the TV, correct?

And the two speakers on the side that will  connect to that central unit via BT, correct?

Now the tricky question is: how do I control the volume level that I assume the buttons are located/managed in the central unit, do I have to stand up and walk to that unit to increase or decrease volume level or can the remote from my Samsung Smart TV do it, control the volume

You missed the bit where they were referring to 1060. That came in two flavours; 1060 & 1060 BT. He states that this is a new model; the 1090 BT.

The speakers are connected to the central unit by wires. The Bluetooth function is used to send a single to the central unit. For example from your phone or laptop.

Your TV might not have Bluetooth, so if sending from the TV you might need to use a wire anyway.

If you don't want wires between the central unit and the speakers you will need something completely different and more expensive.

There are 2 options for paying with a bank account (maybe more but 2 i know of)

1 with the mobile app on the phone you enter 2x a code and your phone nr and the amount. I found it a hassle.

2 i activated my lazada wallet and its connected to my mobile app. So now i just say pay by wallet, i get transfered to an other page where i input my phone nr and a code and i get the payment details int he mobile app (that is what i like)

I never use COD I hate messing around with money, never been scammed and made 100's of buys from Lazada. Have been refunded through the wallet at times when things went wrong. I either let the money there or transfer to bank. Usually leave it there as i use lazada a lot.

Was neither of those. Was just a simple option of choosing bank transfer(or similar). They then give you the necessary references that you need to enter using your On-line bank account. I signed in and entered the details in the way that they suggested and paid. Received a message that they had received my payment and that was it. No need for mobile banking or a wallet.

Online banking is not even offered as an option to me - gray out unable select.  Or is it phone app banking you use?  Using CC now.  But would prefer online banking as with Shopee which years ago did have with Lazada.

With reference to Lazada, you are choosing the wrong payment option. I think you have to choose something like Bank Transfer if you want to pay using your bank account.

I vaguely remember seeing the same thing, but then chose the option that allowed me to pay using a bank account.

Perhaps it's because you haven't entered your bank account details as a payment option in advance.

Like I said, I don't condone his actions, but perhaps you should look up the word "empathy" in the dictionary.

Perhaps if the DTAC staff member showed some empathy, this guy may have taken to social media singing the praises of DTAC, rather than smashing up their shop.

Ever heard the saying, "The customer is always right?"  In reality, they are not always right, but you get the spirt of the saying.

It's possible this whole situation could have been handled better by DTAC, but I say again, there are no excuses for his actions damaging the shop.

How do you know that they didn't show empathy, but that he still lost it because what he wanted was simply not within the employee's remit?

You just totally fabricated a scenario and then used it as basis to smear the DTAC staff and excuse the idiot. What is wrong with you?

Hard to fathom why you kept on digging...

Maybe you have been in a similar position and you are just describing your own situation?

Of course not. Thanks for investigating so deeply. You may disagree with me anytime on anything - no problem.

    Facts are:

    1. I may be mistaken since I never tried the content of the d'arbo jar in comparison to Südheide

    2. But I know what the usual consistency of a jam or "Konfitüre" is, and the Südheide product has - irrespective of its obviously very similar content list at least no direct ressemblance of any "jam" I now and I have plenty of it in the fridge (I prefer the "Schwartau" Brand exept for Orange Marmelade).

    3. I looked the fruit content up on my old Südheide jar - it is as well 50%

    4. I made my judgement on the basis of the d'arbo product named "Konfitüre", whereas the Südheide product is devoid of such a description.

    5. I have been using "Preisselbeeren" all my life but I do not recall that any product I used was called Jam, Konfitüre or Marmelade. Thats maybe the key point why you may be right and I was led making a wrong assumption.

P.S.: The description "Extra" is added to show a particular high fruit content (I believe). I guess that is correct for any jam or similar product, but I am not sure.

Consequence: I may just have to try it maybe ? ????

Thanks  for pointing out the similiarity in such a detail for me.

Not a problem; I hope it suits. I think Friendship stocks their products, though don't know if they stock the Cranberry variety.

Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately this does not work. It is not jam I am looking for.

These "Preisselbeeren" are used to compliment a German pig roast with potato dumplings or a nice turkey roast (if this were available - the pre--cooked versions available here do not qualify).

.....and then why were are at it...... what I am really missing as well is Roses Lime Juice (it was available in Villa before - but now they have only some second class substitute).

On the other side one English Brand really surprizes me: Essential Waitrose, they do 18 month (better than nothing) Parmesan - the real thing, their Brie is both good and reasonably priced and I like their thick cut Seville Orange Marmelade.

    Erm....

Far be it from me to disagree with you, but looking at the ingredients of the Südheide product:

    Quote

Preiselbeeren (50%), Zucker, Glukose-Fruktose-Sirup, Geliermittel: Pektine, Säverungsmittel: Citronensäure.

and the ingredients of the so called jam(let's take spacer.png

    as an example:

    Quote

Zutaten: Preiselbeeren, Zucker, Zitronensaftkonzentrat, Geliermittel Pektin. Hergestellt aus 50 g Früchten je 100 g.

Seems almost exactly the same to me.

Is it the word 'Wild' that makes the difference or 'Extra'?

Once again, I am not condoning the actions of this guy, but perhaps it should be considered that a DTAC staff member was in a bad mood, or having personal problems, and maybe cancelled this guy's account when some latitude may have been granted by another staff member, especially during covid times, when companies know customers are having financial difficulties.

I know the banks are accepting non payment of loans, I don't know about telecommunication companies.

We have a laugh because he damaged some items in the store, but he could have easily gone to the store and shot someone in the head with a gun.

All a bit of a weird viewpoint IMHO.

Smashing things that don't belong to you and without permission is simply not acceptable.

What you are saying is the equivalent of someone being justified to punch you in the mouth because you did not smile adequately when they greeted you and you should count yourself lucky that they did not decide to shoot you with a gun. All a bit perverse.

There is simply no excuse. He just 'lost it' like an infant. Stop making up silly 'non excuses' for him.

He could have contacted the call centre and requested an alternative solution. Then he would know if it were just an errant employee. Instead now he is on the hook for the things that he broke, unless DTAC decide to waive the damages.

No - my TV has headphone, AUX in addition to Bluetooth, USB and HDMI. It was the last 3D model LG produced and has even things like Dolby Vision already.

I forgive you. Only 450 Baht but for sure an experience. On the other hand - about 7 (SEVEN) big Leo Beer. You should see my tears now.

But I did not expect too that it has a decoding chip for Dolby and DTS. I asked the seller and he also had no idea. In the end every two channel signal is decoded - independently if cable or Bluetooth. Only the AC-3 input might go directly. I will test this when I have the digital to analog converter.

The system is really good - especially for this price. So in the end you did my a favour. Only the plastic smell - hopefully it will be gone pretty soon.

It actually does say Dolby Pro Logic as a speaker feature in the small print. Since the seller added it, it is somewhat strange that he claimed to not know.

Perhaps, beyond the description, he had no idea as to what it actually does, so did not want to mislead you.

The plastic smell will go away ????

We should give our apologies to Yellowtail for hijacking his thread.

Test report cheap 5.1 speaker system

First of all I have wasted about 450 Baht. I ordered a Dolby digital to analog converter because I have thought I will need it. When I receive it from China I will extend my test report here and let you know if it improves anything.

I ordered this 5.1 speaker system

    https://www.lazada.co.th/products/nano-51ch-ws-515-usb-bluetooth-wireless-i2348274111.html

Surprise. The speakers have a Dolby AND DTS sound chip built in (THX is no problem too). What does this mean? Any Line Out, Headphone jack or Bluetooth connection will be decoded to Dolby or DTS. Amazing. I even tried with the phone and tablet - worked. In addition some older DVD Player have AC-3 out connections. Mine is sadly so old that it cannot read the discs anymore and so I could not test these inputs. But my Blu Ray Player connected via HDMI to the TV provided great surround sound. Also files from the USB stick connected to the TV got decoded.

The cables to the speakers are about 1,6 (front, center) and 4,6 meters (back side).

With the remote or on the main unit you can adjust the volume for front, back, subwoofer and center speaker separately. Don't forget to switch to 3D. If you switch it on and nothing works press ST-BY.

Sound quality in surround mode is great (you don't realise in this mode that the speakers are pretty basic).

My speakers seem to have an additional one for high frequencies. This is only decorative. There is no extra speaker for high frequencies.

At my delivery there was sadly one speaker broken. The seller promised me to replace it. So far it holds with glue.

Right and left speaker plugs are not correct. Left is right and right is left.

Smell - the plastic smells. Hope that it will get less.

Radio is built in if anyone still uses something like this.

A good source for test files is YouTube

Try these. Just connect your phone / tablet with Bluetooth and you are ready to go.

If any questions are not answered here then ask.

Shame about the unnecessary spend. I did write this initially:

    Quote

If only an optical out is available, then this too...

Your purchasing it seemed to confirm that you only had Optical Audio out.

Either way, still very good value overall by the sound of it.

The TV here has only an Optical Audio out, so if you don't need it, I might be in the market for a half price adapter. ????

I don't really watch TV, but for the odd film it might come in handy.

https://www.lazada.co.th/products/nano-51ch-ws-515-usb-bluetooth-wireless-i2348274111.html Interesting to note that this one does state Dolby Pro Logic in the small print.

I didn't initially spot the difference between that one and the FPK-1070. I think that might be the difference. FPK-1050 also available at a mere 750 baht.

I think those conform to Dolby Digital (AC3, 5.1) though without the Pro Logic component.

Then Bangkok bank will charge additional 500 THB

so whats up with all these wise transfer and what not?

Is that the banks in UK and US charge hefty, so u gotta go through with them?

I explained it earlier and made a comparison for you. Try reading it.

In your case, adding in your NZ bank fee; the bank method would cost £44,600 equivalent, with WISE coming in at £44,522.75 equivalent.

I use £s, as that is what I used for the original illustration.

The only way to properly compare is send using both methods and see, but that's variable depending if rates strengthening or weakening, I did a test a few years ago, Clarity card was best, followed by Wise, followed by a bank transfer. If a currency was moving up quickly, which can happen, a bank transfer would most likely be better

The only way for the OP to do so would be to use both methods at the same time. But how to know the precise amount to spend with each method in order to compare?
