  1. He pleaded guilty so probably not. I'm surprised he didn't or wasn't provided the opportunity to buy his way out of trouble last September. I can only assume he didn't have access to upwards of 100k baht tea money.
  2. Five bottles of Asahi and a few joints of White Buffalo and Divine Storm. Sweet dreams. ????
  3. Yes, really. Violence has never solved anything and thought better of you, billd.
  4. Advice only. Put it this way, your chosen embassy isn't about to pay for disaffected citizens to travel business class for the return flight.
  5. But assault and public humiliation is uncalled for and unnecessary.
  6. Don't speed, keep a distance and don't get stressed. Nothing's going to change except your attitude to the rules of the road (or lack thereof). Apologies, OP, but ridiculous thread.
  7. Of course, particularly when survivors of the camps are still alive.
  8. I don't know, but I do know Tom spent time in South Africa many years ago and a certain allegation has never been reported in the British press.
  9. Doesn't matter about the drunkeness as insurance already invalidated. Many factors, including engine size, valid licence, tax, insurance (this is separate from travel insurance as the bike insurance also has to be in place) wearing a helmet and sobriety. There's no way the bike insurance or the travel insurance would pay out in this situation.
  10. No probs. I was merely pointing out the insurance aspect and used your quote to make my point. Thanks.
  11. Even if they were licenced (doubt it), taxed (only if licenced), insured (only if licenced and taxed) their travel insurance (doubt they thought of that) would be invalidated by virtue of not wearing helmets. GoFundMe patrons in the making.
  12. Snowflakes. This was their swimming with dolphins moment, it just happened to be a python.
  13. Alcohol is obviously the main contributory factor but further exacerbated by the cokeheads. I'm mid-50s and been around the block but you can pretty much enter any UK pub / venue and you'll never be more than a few feet away from a bag of coke. Yes, it's always been there but definitely more prevalent nowadays and possibly more 'socially' acceptable. The mix of alcohol and higher purity of coke these days makes some users a ticking time bomb and the cokeheads will always be in the middle of any trouble. I'm not suggesting the thugs in the OP were on coke, by the way.
  14. One could argue that instant Thai justice would have instilled the humility and respect that his parents failed to nurture.
  15. Sounds a reasonable OP but not going to happen for some considerable time. Western comparisons are fine but not relatable in the slightest to Thai standards. I'm old enough to realise that I won't change the world to my exacting standards.
  16. I'd be happy to accept this as fact if only reporting wasn't lost in the fog of war. Who knows what to believe.
