  1. That would be nice to have that info but we haven't received any setup credentials during the service setup. It was the tech who brought and then installed the ONT and router. And that was it.
  2. That was my expectation but to my surprise they've refused to share my PPPoE credentials. I wonder if it's just the local office problem as in them being clueless. I think I might need to go up the chain to verify.
  3. At the local office they've refused to disclose my PPPoE username and password.
  4. The ONT and router are in separate boxes. I want to get rid of the ISP provided, bare-bone router and replace it with a separately purchased, fully featured unit that allows wifi separation etc.
  5. My router's serial number didn't work as a user login. Their customized firmware has the bridge option removed. Did your ISP offer a replacement router free of charge?
  6. We have a pretty good fiber service around here, where ISPs provide both ONT boxes and routers as a package. I wanted to upgrade to a better router box by buying my own. To my surprise my local ISP office responded with "can not due that". My understanding is that I can not just connect my own router to the existing ONT box and get service since it is been preset with a login. Any experience on setting your own router? Thank you
  7. 3 wires plus another one on the opposite side. We also have non-solar street lights attached to some poles.
  8. It could also be a case of changing their mind on the initial design after the plan and its budget has been finalized, which is super common in residential construction.
  9. OK. I see 3 vertically arranged wires, the top one - uninsulated.
  10. And he's entitled to his opinion.... Gutters are optional in the areas of very low precipitation. Was he specifically referred to those areas?
  11. As seen on high voltage lines? Consumer voltage poles around here have 3 wires positioned at the same height:
  12. Is there an easy way to identify the local system by looking at utility poles?
  13. I don't really remember details on the first two. Just remember that it wasn't cheap since I'm located a good few hours away from the shop. And it would definitely be even much more expensive if ordering from Bangkok. The first two were re-roofs that's why I was aware of details at the time. The third one was done on a new build by the builder - not much of costs visibility there. I'll have another mini-project coming up where I plan to install a PU insulated roof on a carport and also use the same material for walls of the built-in storage shed. That material will be sourced from a local non-franchisee that sells PU insulated non-Bluescope metal. I expect free delivery.
  14. Are you close to the plant? That's the only situation when delivery costs are not a significant part. Or your roof is grossly overpriced. Three roofs - all made by a local Bluescope franchisee. Two Bluescope Zacs in 2 different profiles - one is PU insulated, another is with thin stuff. The third is Bluescope Colorbond - PU insulated.
  15. Have you ever purchased a metal roof? It doesn't sound like...
  16. Well, yeah... And then another thread comes up later on with a similar question. Filled with speculation and unnecessary arguments. Just like this thread...
  17. Delivery costs is another big expense that is usually not factored into the overall price.
  18. Sorry, what's your point again?
  19. Is that hard to deduct based on the available info? The question is by how much more. We can only hope that OP shares his price discovery findings after obtaining price quotes. Threads like this regularly spring up around this forum without much of a follow up.
  20. You haven't mentioned if you've already planned or priced out the rest of your house project. Just a word of advice...(Please disregard if money is no object). It's only natural to desire the best available materials. But the vast majority of us don't have a luxury of unlimited budgets. The Roof is not the only component that determines overall quality of a structure. Quality of the builder, walls, windows, ceilings (insulation), doors, thermal design/house orientation, shading, furniture and amenities... All will have to compete for and be balanced out within your particular budget. You've mentioned that you don't want to build a hot box. The super-duper roof alone won't help you in achieving a well insulated dwelling.
  21. But why would it matter for the inside facing sheet? Why to overpay for extra protection? Unless roofing over a facility dealing with corrosive chemicals.
  22. It won't produce any rust on the surface of the thinly coated material - no need for multi-layer treatments similar to the out facing site which is exposed to UV, acid, salts, dirt etc.
