  1. That's right - Bluescope sells metal sheet. But it also has a franchised network of roll -forming shops throughout Thailand. Those shops are usually being an easily accessible source in the whole of Thailand of the single-skin Bluescope-branded metal roofs (in most cases). They roller-form Bluescope's metal into a desired profile, apply PU or the other type of thin insulation and cut finished sheets to size and deliver to location.
  2. There's an underlining layer of what looks like aluminum foil. The foam layer stiffens up the sheet. It feels almost solid, not wobbly. 25mm thick insulation works just fine in my experience. Upon delivery the roof stayed under the hot Sun and the underside remained barely warm to touch.
  3. But we're not talking about spray foam here. What do you see being wrong with this design that's been used in Thailand for many years by now? Or rather why wouldn't you use it on your own house?
  4. @sometimewoodworker @Kwasaki Are you guys talking about thick PU foam or the thin type of insulation that is glued on.to the metals surface? From what I've seen on this board that's the silvery thin material that does tend to separate after a number of years, especially when exposed to elements. It's not made out of PU!
  5. I love this metal sandwich system! But at the same time I also like the "regular" panels without the extra cost of the second metal sheet (would be nice to know the price difference).
  6. Sorry to repeat, but what's exactly the failure? His words: "In all probability a layer of silver backed PU foam will provide a similar, if not better, result at less cost though it’s common for lower quality installs like this to breakdown." What kind of breakdown of PU foam? Can you please describe or point me to any evidence?
  7. Second that! Not only interesting but also super helpful for anyone considering insulated metal roof options.
  8. I assume you haven't tried to price it against the "regular" franchised Bluescope shop?
  9. Again, please elaborate on what you mean under lower quality installs? What is known to breakdown? Can you point to any evidence since it's common in your view?
  10. "Polyurethane foam is made of a combination of chemicals and other materials, including isocyanates, which are highly flammable. But when these chemicals are mixed in manufacturing, they become stable and non-reactive. This means that once the foam has been made, it is no longer flammable. Regarding the safety of polyurethane foam, it is important to consider the material’s fire resistance degree. Polyurethane foam is typically rated Class 1, an A-level fire-resistance rating, which means it is highly resistant to fire and will not cause any significant damage to structural elements in the event of a fire. Is Polyurethane Foam Safe The answer is yes. Polyurethane foam is safe to use in your home and office. It is a non-toxic material that is flame-resistant and does not emit any harmful chemicals. The foam is also hypoallergenic, making it a great choice for people with allergies and sensitivities." https://firefighterline.com/is-polyurethane-foam-flammable/
  11. Thanks, it doesn't look that they make or use this specific product in Thailand. I'll be good with what I've already found. Will just have to cut a bigger sheet of material in stripes.
  12. Agreed, it's a very good product.
  13. The standard one doesn't have the second metal layer. Wait a second. It also does? Oh, then yeah, in that case let's wait a see until the OP gets his price quote (not a guarantee if he even hears back if the manufacturer prefer to deal with higher volume orders). I don't think he will like it. I never said that the linked by the OP product is in any way inferior. It looks great. So I suspect is the price.
  14. which one is known to breakdown?
  15. It's incorrect. The other sheet is plastic. From what I remember the shop that I've recommended have also offered an option to install a sheet of plastic. The other default option is a layer of silvery/white foil. Can be installed either way, facing the silvery or white side out.
  16. You're mistaken. Where are you getting that information?
  17. @indyo you might be able to find an aesthetically acceptable profile. When I was shopping for my metal roof this kind of profile was also available from my local shop. But at the time it was only available with a silvery thin insulation which is non-PU. The situation might have changed by now.
  18. What are the chances that it costs even greater?
  19. OP is not getting any product at the moment and has no idea about the price. He's doing his research first. My suggestion was to check the closest franchised Bluescope store. Those stores mostly deal with residential customers, not companies. Which is the reason for the network's creation.
  20. What does that mean?. Can you please translate to all us non-professionals?
  21. From what I see the OP is looking for available options for insulated metal roof. What is wrong with my suggestion?
  22. @indyo Just go to the closest Bluescope franchised store. They are placed all over the country and shouldn't be too far from your locality. You might remember seeing this road sign. That's them. They will take your order and sell all needed parts and accessories. They will also measure your roof if not already done by your roofing contractor. Last time I checked they were selling two grades of Bluescope branded rolled roof metal - Colorbond and Zacs. Zacs is being the cheaper product with shorter warranty. Can't go wrong with either. The shop will also apply a layer of PU insulation during production (if opted for) in your preferred thickness - 25mm, 50mm etc IMO, 25mm is sufficient. BlueScope-Zacs®-Brochure-Thailand.pdf
  23. I have yet to see a single example of a foam expansion joint used in concrete work. At least not in residential properties. On lazada I've found large sheets of foam made from the same as pictured material (expanded polyethylene).
  24. I'm about to start a project of concreting my driveway along with the yard. I want to install expansion foam in several joints. Searched for the product but couldn't locate anything similar to joint expansion foam on Lazada. Doesn't anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.
