I thought that when I read your post.... the only thing I can think of is that mine were Class 2 Voluntary contributions.. only about 11 or 12 quid a month...

Done the same.... 5 missing years.. Class 2 voluntary contributions cost me under 700 gbp now maxed out at 37 years.. but the difference it makes to my pension forecast when I finally retire makes it well well worth it...

Fair points and well put.. I am from the UK.. served in the military.. I left England a couple of years after Blair took power and I could see the writing on the wall for England... the English culture and the 'Dunkirk Spirit' has been eroded from the population due to wokeness and fear of being branded a racist/ bigot/ nazi, something "aphobic" and prosecuted by the pathetic snowflake politics and politicians of the farcebook / twatter generation... but the deep rooted patriotism of many many Brits is still there and hopefully one day will come to the fore... ps...
