I agree that some media outlets have alleged that Thais can't come to Phuket unless they're vaccinated or that they can't come at all. Seems to me that is crazy talk. The Phuket governor appeared to contradict that explicitly the other day. It really doesn't make any sense. Only 2.9% (roughly) of the population in Thailand is vaccinated. Thais are welcome to come to Phuket under the same rules as everyone else. The rules for domestic arrivals are as posted in the graphic. It's been that way since about June. It will be that way after the Phuket Sandbox starts on July 1. I don't see it changing. Domestic rules aren't changing just because new international rules are being adopted.
There is a huge distinction between international arrivals (Phuket Sandbox rules) and domestic arrivals (Phuket's rules governing domestic arrival). The Phuket Sandbox rules have just recently been approved. Phuket's rules have been in place for about a month. People confuse the two all the time. Media it seems to me has a huge incentive to make claims like expats (living in Phuket) and Thais will not be allowed into Phuket under the Sandbox rules. In my opinion, the media loves the attention it gets when it riles up its audience. They purposely "misunderstand" things as it suits their purposes. With all due respect, since I have to be certain my GF does not have to quarantine after a domestic flight from BKK to HGT mid-July, I need more than theories about media motives and what also seems to me to be "crazy talk" if it is taken seriously by the major English Thai newspaper and established commentators. I hope these details are revealed in the Royal Gazette announcement.

It seems to me there are two distinctions here that most respondents are not considering. One is pre and post July 1; that is, does the sandbox scheme change things for Thais? as some have alleged (including the BP newspaper). They say a "loophole" is that Thais also have to be vaccinated (or can't come at all). And since they are not clear if they mean only Thai nationals coming from abroad or all Thais, the other distinction is between domestic and international flights.

I am asking about a Thai travelling from another province in Thailand. Certainly they must be able to go from one province to another as a general rule. In fact we flew together from BKK to HGT in March. No vaccine or quarantine. (I had done my quarantine in BKK.) Does the Sandbox now require that in July she must do the full ASQ/ASL quarantine if she cannot get vaccinated? Hardly seems fair to citizens.

Can a Thai national living in a red zone, unvaccinated but tested negative, fly to Phuket?

Got my first gray hair at 16 and turned 30 when you couldn't trust anyone over 30. But after that I drifted through cycles of lethargy and energy, usually related (I see now) to changes in my weight and love life. I turned the corner in my 70s. I met a gorgeous Thai in her 30s (who I could trust). In the last couple of years I've dropped 40 pounds and become much more physically active. Today, days before I turn 80, I feel younger than I did at 40. She complains she is getting old, having just turned 40 (by Thai counting). We feel the same age.

Why would anti-vax fanatics get so irate about someone being concerned for the welfare of a loved one? I think I answered my own question.
I wondered the same thing, but don't see your answer. Please explain.
I think it's the extreme right, especially American Trumpist, projection that he (like my GF) is always pushed around by elitist, know-it-all socialists like he assumes I am, combined inconsistently with the non-conservative, neo-liberal assumption that humans (like my poor GF) are free-thinking blank-slates, untouched by peers, culture, or society. "What's love got to do with it?"

Find a smarter girlfriend. Good luck.
I hope this response is tongue and cheek. I'm sure you would agree that real friends are certainly not so disposable or exchangeable. Nor are real relationships the simple push and pull suggested by BTB1977 when he writes:
"Why would you push her to do something she doesn't want to do? Your[sic] not here, so you don't know. Plus people here haven’t been brain washed with liberal social propaganda like you have . So drop it and don't stress her out."
Ignoring the ad hominem, presumption, and prejudice, you might agree that real friends don't stay silent when they think their partner is dangerously misinformed anymore then they force their friend to do what they don't want to do. People are not billiard balls. Have you never told a loved one, or has a loved one never told you, you should go to the hospital, see a doctor, get some rest? That's the pushing and pulling that real friends and lovers do.

Well, lead by example. Get the shot. Show her that it's safe and effective. If you have no side effects it will motivate her to follow in your footsteps. If you have a serious adverse reaction everyone of her friends, family, and members of her village will probably never get the shot. If you have moderate side effects she'll probably still balk and I wouldn't blame her.
I did get the 2 Moderna shots in NY by Feb 9 before returning after 14 month absence to visit her. Of course I told her they were painless. Maybe made the mistake then of contributing to badmouthing the Chinese viruses.

Can I ask how she was able to register for Sinopharm? The website that was open for registration now appears to be closed, at least temporarily.
She told me my yesterday which was Thai Sunday. I think she did it Friday or Saturday at one or more private hospitals while they were still taking names. I can ask when I talk to her again my Tues morning (Thai Tues night),

I want to thank everyone for their responses. I appreciate learning the Thai news and rumors that I did not hear in the U.S. That particular batch of Sinovac that may have caused blood clots and paralysis and possibly 9 deaths is very concerning.
BadBuoy is also right that it is my GF's decision, but I want her to not be misinformed. The power of social media, rumor, and propaganda dominates much of the vaccine discussion here in the U.S. as well as Thailand.
She registered yesterday for Sinopharm I'm pleased to say. Especially since the private hospitals are now curtailing registrations, it was announced that AstraZeneca will not be available in June, and we have just heard of a Vietnamese (and possibly Malaysian variant).

Really, I made a post here on alternatives and it appears to have been taken down, i.e. medicines that have treated similar viruses and were effective, but it was taken down, dare I mention them again ?
Ask yourself this, what are the Thai hospitals prescribing to those with Covid in the hospitals and then send them home once they have past the 14 days quarantine, bet you they aren't vaccinations, but we can't talk about alternatives because the drive is vaccines, don't talk about adverse effects or deaths when it comes to vaccines, freedom of speech has gone out the window.
Here are a list of other treatments current being used, why TVF doesn't allow me to speak freely when the evidence is there sucks.....we should be able to show other sides of the coin, isn't that what forums are about, discussions, information, to agree and to disagree ?
All of these medications in Thai Medical News are for those who already have Covid, not for preventing infection.

I gave my GF a birthday present a year or two after we met. I asked what she would like. She said something gold. So we went to a jewelry store and she picked out a ring. I bought it and she put it on the third finger of her left hand. I said "in America that means we're married." She said "same in Thailand."

I am trying to convince my Thai partner to get vaccinated even if with the Sinovac vaccine. She says she will not take Sinovac because people have taken it and died. When I ask for evidence, she says everybody knows this, everyone in her family believes this, it’s been on television, no one will take it now. My question is: Is this any more than rumor bred on fear and mistrust? Is there any evidence that Thai recipients of Sinovac have died from it? Is this a pervasive belief in Thailand anyway?
I know it is not as effective as other jabs and like them can cause temporary discomfort. But everything I read says it is not dangerous and it is better than nothing. She counters with distrust of the government. Says they hide covid deaths. I say they have a greater interest in protecting Thai made AZ. But I can't discern rumor from reality in Thailand from my current perch in the U.S. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When I flew into BKK from Doha in February I couldn't just walk through customs or transfer. After an hour of sitting, being interviewed and displaying papers, I was led to quarantine driver for full quarantine in Bkk. After 15 days I came back to a virtually empty Suvarnabum where I had to go through a slightly shorter interview process where I had to show the release from the quarantine hotel to fly to Phuket. I couldn't just transfer.
I suspect that will still be the case after July 1, which is why you can't stop in BKK. I plan on Doha direct to Phuket to avoid quarantine in July for my return.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a chiropractor, osteopath, or therapeutic masseuse in Phuket?

I booked the same mid July with Emirates via Dubai (it includes free Covid travel insurance btw) but they have just notified me that my flight has been cancelled so perhaps they are better informed than we are. ????
It is Qatar that flies through Doha and they haven't cancelled. My guess is that Emirates and Qatar cancel some flights but only to trim their schedules. I enjoyed a Qatar flight back from BKK last month. The advantage of this one in July is that it goes straight to Phuket.

Thailand Elite informs me that "the vaccinated tourist program in Phuket is pending the official announcement from the Government" and that they should be updating quarantine requirements every month. So I should stay tuned.
I have booked changeable flight through Doha direct to Phuket mid-July, but can't book hotel until sure I don't need ASQ.

That used to be assumed, but recent tests have shown that infection or transmission would be rare for those vaccinated with Pfizer or Moderna vaccines. Reported in NY Times March 29.

Sounds like so far they're just asking for the more reliable PCR test instead of the antigen test, which can give false negatives. And that only for the unvaccinated from the red zones.

Rupert, I would like to know the names of the two chiropractors you recommend in BKK. I've been trying to get my GF to one for years. I swear by my one in NY.

It's very hard to imagine that capitalist corporations that have to respond to their share holders and the stock market, will not try to maximize profit by selling their available supplies to the highest bidders.
But it's not hard to imagine that they would want governments to absorb what could be colossal liability risks.

Does anyone know if this is limited to the Chinese and/or Russian vaccines?

How does a Thai get a visa to visit the US?
in Visas and migration to other countries

Instead of jumping through the hoops to meet my GF in Phuket, I'm thinking of helping her come to the US for vaccine jabs and a vacation. How would she get a visa to do so? Is it difficult? Are there certain stories she should tell or not tell? Can she, for instance, say she wants the vaccine?
