Thammanat later clarified that it was directed at his allies with Rak Khrung Thep, Palang Pracharath, and “various other parties.” It was a reminder that his powerful figure, whom the prime minister had sidelined after he led a failed parliamentary coup last year, retains his influence. The incident happened on the Sukprayoon Road heading towards Phanat Nikhom at about 6.30 pm yesterday. Apatsara, 55, was shot in the shoulder and through the cheekbones. There was evidence of two shots having been fired through the driver's window one of which exited through the windshield. The victim was taken in a grievous condition to a local hospital then transferred to Ekachon 1 hospital due to the seriousness of her wounds. The driver was in a full face helmet, the pillion passenger in a half helmet. He thought four or five shots had been fired. The car careered off the road and crashed while the assailants raced off in the direction of Phanat Nikhom. One 9mm bullet was found in the car, another was embedded in the victim's shoulder. Police said the reason for the shooting is under investigation though they speculated it was perhaps to do with a personal dispute. Found covered in blood on a bed downstairs at a two story house was 53 year old Jirasak "Ham" Deelert. He had been hit with a heavy object. He said the pair had been involved in a land dispute in the village and that after a local judgement was issued the pair still had differences that frequently resulted in arguments when drinking was involved. Preecha added that he believed the feud flared up again at the Bang Fai event. Provincial police found the assailant - a man called Somkhuan Srijanthep, aged about 53 - sleeping in an old mill 500 meters away. He showed police where he hid the murder weapon. Described as a loner who lives alone, he went back in his house where at 8 pm, with police in a standoff outside, he shot himself with a .38 gun. Bang Khla chief Pornchai Kittichayathorn said that Therdsak had been off work for three days and had been drinking outside his house when the cement mixer arrived. Suphachoke was confronted first and then Therdsak shot a completely innocent neighbor who had had no trouble with Therdsak before. British murderer sentenced to eight-years imprisonment for killing and disposing of Thai bar girl in Kanchanaburi in 2014 By Nop Meechukhun Kanchanaburi – British national Shane Kenneth Looker was sentenced to an eight-year imprisonment by the Kanchanaburi Court today, May 31st, for killing 27-year-old Thai woman Laxami Manochat in a hotel room and disposing of her body in the Mae Klong River, Kanchanaburi in 2014.
