Muang Sa Kaeo police were shocked when a member of the public reported finding a four months old infant in the middle of the Sa Kaeo to Aranyaprathet Road on Sunday night. The child had minor head injuries and was taken to the local hospital. A social media appeal was launched to try and find the mother. A short while after as Pol Lt-Col Manop Kiawwanich went to the scene to investigate a man and a woman called Mathana Thaenhan, 30, turned up to inquire if they'd found a child. Mathana explained that she had been to a festival with her boyfriend and was holding her infant son between him and her on a motorcycle. She was so drunk that she dropped the infant without realising it. Then she recovered her senses and went back he was nowhere to be found having already been discovered and taken to the hospital. Police thought it might have been deliberate but CCTV showed her returning to the scene to look for her son and going to the local hospital. 12. By Namo Vananupongv BANGKOK (NNT) - The Bio-Circular-Green Model mandates effective use of biological resources, re-using materials within a circular economy, and propagating a green economy to reduce impacts on the planet. A paper recycling project was launched yesterday (14 Feb) by the industry ministry and SCG Packaging to further drive the BCG Model. The Ministry of Industry and 7 organizations under its jurisdiction have joined with SCG Packaging Plc. to take in 8,000 kilograms of used paper. The paper will be recycled and processed into a range of products that will be donated for public benefit. Some of the products are beds, students’ desks and canteen tables made of cardboard. The project was also initiated to mark the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of Industry. Industry Ministry Permanent Secretary Kobchai Sungsitthisawad said the initiative adheres to the Bio-Circular-Green model as it reduces paper use and promotes recycling. SCG Packaging is joining this attempt to leverage the circular economy by making use of its packaging and recycling know-how. The project’s paper waste sorting activities will enable precise paper amounts to be calculated and put into storage. An efficient recycling process will then turn the paper waste into environmentally-friendly products. -- © Copyright NNT 2022-02-15 - Aetna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. 16. « An Embassy is the siege of a diplomatic mission of a particular country based in another country's capital». The establishment of an embassy is the proof of the will to talk, cooperate and build a solid relationship between those 2 countries. It is most certainly the case for the French embassy in Thailand, established many centuries ago, on the banks of the Chao Praya river. But, in the opinion of the French Ambassador to Thailand, M. Thierry Mathou, the embassy and the walls around should also be the symbol of the friendship between France and Thailand. According to him, the outside walls of the embassy should not be a barrier between our 2 countries. It should be a display that bear the symbols of the long-lasting and friendly relation between our two countries. The result is an original work composed of several paintings exhibited on the walls of the French Embassy in Bangkok, to illustrate the richness of the dialogue between France and Thailand. Started in September 2021, the project came to completion in February 2022. The teams of "Restaurateurs sans Frontières" under Mr. Robert Bougrain's direction and in collaboration with students from Poh Chang Academy of Arts, created an original artwork composed of several paintings displayed on the Embassy's external walls to illustrate the richness of the dialogue between France and Thailand. The audio description of the paintings was made by students from the French International School of Bangkok (Lycée Français International de Bangkok: LFIB). It can be read and listened to by scanning the QR code next to each painting. This project received help and support from many stakeholders, especially from some of the most important French companies operating in Thailand, such as Saint-Gobain or Dextra, which brought their French expertise to realize the project. --2022-02-15

  20. Picture: Daily News ASEAN NOW suggests that the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority or BMA continue to adopt a softly- softly approach after alcohol restrictions were eased in the Thai capital. Warnings far outweighed prosecutions when law breaking was found, it was revealed at the latest executive meeting chaired by deputy governor Sakonthee Phatthiyakul yesterday. Checks had been made by the police, military and BMA representatives across all 50 of Bangkok's districts looking at places with SHA, SHA+ and other accreditation. There were 15,840 checks, 650 warnings, 12 prosecutions and one solitary closure order. In total 23 warnings were issued for serving booze after hours and 206 establishments were flouting SHA rules by serving alcohol. Action against people illegally using the sidewalks to ride on or park continued apace, however. Since July 2018 there have been 40,480 cases dealt with. 3,830 resulted in warnings but the majority - nearly 35,000 resulted in fines. Consequently the BMA has collected 44,238,000 baht from such infractions. A warning issued via the meeting suggested that people could be fined 2,000 baht for driving or parking on the sidewalk and the fine would be 5,000 baht if someone was hit, reported Daily News.
