    I don't ever trust Zebra crossings over here, no one complies with them. Poor lady and poor child, I hope there is someone there to take care of the kid especially with his mother being Laotian and likely not having an extended family here.

Walk away, and pay for another one. You are in a transactional relationship; act accordingly and keep emotions out. For 10 men to lay hands on him, I think he didn't keep his hands to himself during this row.

    Literally in the article "He and his partner stayed briefly in Sukhothai before moving to Chiang Mai." How would they know this if they didn't know the guy? Which I why I presume they had his hotel stays registered.

    I love they are still attempting to solve the case, but what are the chances he sees this, as I guess it's not going to be shared in France, if he is indeed french or even remembers anything from 18 years ago unless you actually saw the murder, not just were at the temple that day, if they know his movements (presuming TM30) they know his name and passport number right, so then contact the embassy.

    There's some weird kinks these days, but crossbow 3 ways is a new one. Anyways sounds like a classic case of broken marriage (quite possibly both of them were culpable, drunk man and cheating woman, chicken and the egg!), trapped himself by sunk cost fallacy and wasn't willing to walk away to social housing in Norway and now will be seeing out his time in Surat Thani Prison with the Spanish Butcher from KPG for company

    It's obviously down to Thailand, but how many Thai's speak Hindi, or Russian, or French, or German etc. who can offer these services. Not everyone speaks Thai or English and generally these are the only languages you can find tours in... Maybe they should open up but you have to go through a full course you need to pay for, register the company and be subject to inspections to make sure all guides are licensed via the course.

    Absolutely mindblowing and tragic, while there isn't an abundance of money, there always seems to be something to eat in Thailand whether it's catching toads, mice, picking wild leaves or even fruit, which is everywhere, going to the temple (ok pride might get in the way of the parents but the kid?). Are we sure this isn't some sort of parasite/disease that left them completely lethargic and unable to communicate?

    I know exactly what I was replying to, a useless message about Insurance rather than considering the issues money does not fix, which comes from foreigners with no experience on bikes using them and causing accidents, which may take the lives of innocents.

    Completely agree, at least in the UK your car driving license does not cover scooters without the CBT whereas many other nation's licenses cover bikes without needing a separate test which is madness

    didn't say that at all, EU drivers licenses generally cover the use of Scooters and yet most have never used one as one example... If you seek to rent something you can not safely operate that's your responsibility

    I'll go ask the rental shop down the road how often they have to show the people they rent how to actually use the bike, every one I see pull out is usually an accident waiting to happen

    Na but I'd still argue he's in more control than the majority of people we get visiting Samui who wobble all over the place, bloody worse than the cement trucks for accidents

    If he can do that, then he's safer to others on the road than 99% of the tourists who have never been on a bike or scooter and suddenly think they can control one
