I think is a good idea to just fly to another Asian country, Vietnam, Cambodia... Visit for a week and then come back to Thailand. This border crossing like that doesn't has any sense -
the van companies even upped the prices, before it was 1800thb while now is 2500/2600. It's only about money here, as i always say. It's all a money scheme So i think it has more sense to just fly to vietnam and visit a new country for a week and then come back to thailand from the airport

it's not unlimited at the Chiang Khong border, immigration over there still only allow 2 border run per year. Even the border run website are saying like that. Some folks are saying that i give false info lol. Pattaya57 where are you?

Looks like it's only possible 2 times per year in Laos. To Cambodia is unlimited

nothing new for me, thai style. They are very bipolar, i wouldn't even be surprised if they might won't to stamp the 60 days after 2 nights out of the country lol. They wake up and change the rules all the time.. Why? Why all this thai drama If they need more tourist here?

I know a visa agency that offer border run by air and by land, by air they ask you to pay for the flight ticket, they come to pick you up at your local place and bring you to the airport, fly out and fly back to Thailand in one day. Very easy and of course no issues with these immigration officers. You just pay here, this is how the system works here, it's all about money money money and immigration like that

I will probably apply for a METV when I will go back to my country. It's just 5000 thb and I think is always better to come back to Thailand with a visa -

Where is for free? You don't know that you have to spend money for transportation and for buy a visa at the border? Even if you fly you have to pay for a ticket. It's not free at all -

Why lose lots of money for only one year visa when is possible to apply for a METV visa and stay here for one year or even more? It's really much cheaper, 5000thb and now is possible to get 60 days exemption for unlimited times. I really don't understand why folks want to spend all this money for just one year ed visa. You can learn Thai language with a beautiful Thai girl In my opinion 56000 for a visa is a big scam. Typical in Thailand -
I think you totally misunderstood what I wanted to say. When I do a border bounce I don't want to stay in Laos not even for one day so it's pointless to write an address over there as I would go back to Thailand after they stamp me out of Laos within a few minutes!

Yep I can confirm that. It's more convenient and easier to use an agency that takes care of everything. I paid 1800thb for the transportation (go and back)plus money for the Lao visa. I don't like to do all the steps by myself, it's a bit stressful and I wouldn't save money anyway

I just give my passport to the Lao officer plus money and he stamp a Lao visa on my passport. No form and passport photo

UK. Maybe because I use a visa run agency. I don't know but I can confirm I have never been asked to fill a Lao visa form and take a passport photo

Why do you have to make a passport photo and fill the Lao visa form? I did a border run last time, I didn't do anything, just pay and come back to Thailand the same day

It wouldn't surprise me at all if everything goes back to the way it was before. Thais are too bipolar, today they like foreigners, tomorrow they hate them. They are too insecure and paranoid

To me all these requirements are ridiculous. I prefer to stay here with tourist visas and free exemption stamps for at least 180 days and then go back to my country for some months

Are you sure? On 2017 I stayed in Thailand for about 8 months only with 2 tourist visas, 2 extensions and one border bounce plus extension

Because i still like to go back to my country, i don't want to live permanently in thailand for now but I am just waiting to be 50 years old and then i will probably apply for a retirement visa. By the way i would never spend so much money for an elite visa come on. I am not rich like Donald Trump lol
