  1. He said, in an interview (according to the OP) that he paid rent for two of the houses, rent that it appears amounted to considerably more than his salary. Maybe a bit less of the smart Alec comments on reading or comprehension skills? We all are left in no doubt that you are jolly clever and extraordinarily well informed anyway.
  2. Well the combined rental on the two houses being 130% of his salary?
  3. Interesting comparison of visits by the two principal candidates yesterday. Biden went to a picket line to offer support to striking workers, with some legitimate grievances. Trump visited a gun shop, best known for its customised AR 15 rifles for the Boogaloo Boys, a right wing white extremist group. A gun shop which supplied the weapon used in the Jacksonville shootings recently.
  4. I agree with everything you posted- untill the last paragraph, when you went off track into a almost comic rant worthy of "Citizen Smith"! Always the way though isn't it @Chomper Higgot, start off talking common sense, end up badmouthing anyone and everyone who does not absolutely share your views
  5. No, because without funding from the US "and the rest of the west" Ukraine will be unable to fight effectively and will lose. Russia will win, and be able to dismantle a democratic European Country. The consequences to humanity will be significant, although that fellow McCarthy may hang on to the speakers chair for a few more weeks. Not for long though - Matt. Gaetz is moving in on that job....
  6. I have worked long and hard at being a despicable disreputable creature, so receiving the honorific "mister" is for me, a matter for celebration! Time to grab a couple of girls, a couple of bottles and withdraw to the VIP room (when the pension is paid)!
  7. Does Thailand have open prisons?
  8. The "confused" emoji is the one that irritates me. At least "sad" conveys a reaction; but there is nothing confusing about your post. It is, as so often, being used to express disagreement or disapproval; by people who are too idle, or unable, to post that they do disagree or disapprove. The board needs an appropriate emoji. After all, we already have " like", " love it", and "thumbs up" which all basically mean the same thing!
  9. There is a fundamental difference. There are lorry loads of evidence against Trump. There is none against Biden.
  10. Hmm - 6 months in"detention". I wonder if that was the initial agreement, or has there been some backpedaling on the deal?
  11. Shall we look at it another way: this individual was shot, one round was fired. He had previous convictions for possession of firearms, the car was being followed because it had been used in criminal activity involving firearms the day before, and he was shot when using the car, as a lethal weapon, to ram his way through the police roadblock. Had the army been deployed, I can assure you that he would have been shot, probably several times. Shooting him would have absolutely been within the rules of engagement for armed soldiers deployed in support of the civil police within the United Kingdom. This incident and the way it is being handled, has the potential to remove armed police from the streets of London, possibly throughout the country. The gleeful reaction of the gangs, and the proliferation of guns used in crime, and crime itself, once they know that the only real deterrent has been removed will be dramatic. When London, quite possibly, suffers a wave of South African style armed robberies, armed burglaries and armed carjackings I wonder how @Chomper Higgotwill respond? Apart from blaming Ms Braverman of course!
  12. They're too he ones who got to the dressing up box first. The early bird catches the worm and so on...
  13. It is just that - other news. It (drinking and driving) needs a sustained campaign of enforcement and education to reduce it, with the aim of eliminating it. It is not, by any stretch of the imagination, a reason for opening up access to an entirely different substance that has the absolute potential, if combined with driving ( or other activities) to kill or harm either the partaker or other people.
  14. You continue to enthuse about the inherently benign effects of the stuff. I will continue to live my life with damaged peripheral vision in my left eye, and remember the ten awful days when I thought I would lose vision in that eye altogether.
  15. Just another sub group of the "Yellow Underpants Brigade"!
  16. I am sorry but I must disagree. Some 10 years or so ago I drove a taxi for a while in a medium sized city in the South West of England. There was a spate of vicious attacks and robberies on taxi drivers on one of the council estates. The perpetrators, two brothers, would object to using the meter and go for the driver. The most egregious was probably when a (Polish) driver was badly beaten, and they threatened to cut off his ring finger if he didn't give them his wedding ring. The police told us that these attacks were caused by the perpetrators being high on home produced cannabis. They caught them after a couple of weeks, (I don't think they tried terribly hard). Several of us were badly beaten, I was lucky, I ended up with a damaged eye through being kicked in the face. It healed, although I still have to wear special lenses for my left eye. I lost a couple of weeks off work. Eventually we were awarded compensation. The proportion to be paid by the perpetrators was of course never paid. I don't like the stuff, and I don't care for the apologists who claim that it is entirely harmless. It is a mind altering substance (and, yes, like alcohol) takes people in different ways.
  17. You're suggesting that he has class? Extraordinary!
  18. So the bus was carrying Chinese tourists! Nice to see normal service is being resumed after the disruption of the last few years!
  19. "Legal issues" is a generous term to be applied to what is essentially government driven gerrymandering using the courts and the election commission.
  20. It will break down, or be broken, during those trials, and, if salvaged, spend the next twenty years propping up a jetty.
  21. Perhaps this thread has been on some really good stuff, and is a bit confused at the moment?
  22. Yes, I've often wondered about them. Whilst their baseline prices are quite reasonable they don't half try to load on the extras + tinting, various coatings etc. Girls are cute though!
  23. Why to go with the aircraft carrier of course. It keeps the neighbours in awe. Hark, I can hear the Malaysian and Singapore Navies panicking as we speak!
