Thaksin's Family Refutes Fake News; Misleading Post Sparks Outrage

Actually you can see several shelves stacked with condiments ( Magii sauce is quite prominent) a sink, a rather tatty cloth hung on the front of the sink, and an A4 filing box such as you might use for storing menu cards! My highly tuned forensic photo analysis skills suggest that perhaps the child (grandchild) had wandered into the " staff kitchen" and grandad had "caught her". Of course I may be wrong but I would hope that a hospital does not hang a tatty grey wiping up cloth on the front of a sink unit, especially in the VIP suite! -
Those look suspiciously like American field rations, ghastly stuff! It was amazing what they would do in the Gulf to get hold of British Rations, I got a pair of boots and one of those super comfy camp beds in exchange for a 4 man ration pack. Mind you, having seen the "Meals Ready to Eat" (MREs) that they were supposed to live on - Meals Rejected by Ethiopians as the blokes called them. To be fair, I really needed the boots - the heat caused my up to the minute British "Boots Combat High" to separate from their soles!

That would probably lead to petitions from the yellow underpants brigade alleging that she was trying to gain undue influence or something... -

To think, they may have ended up forming the government. A narrow escape there! ???? -
A reel of heavy duty black sticky tape. There is nothing, but nothing, which cannot be fixed with the judicious application of "black nasty". The British Army during the Cold War was held together with the stuff. If the Russians had invented a solvent to dissolve the glue on it, dispersed perhaps by an airburst shell, we would have been left standing on the North German Plain in our underpants. My brother is a particular fan of it, his wife, exasperated, once declared that if he predeceased her she would not screw down the coffin lid but stick it down with black tape!

Careful perhaps pedantic scrutiny of visa applications is very much flavour of the month, because as @Liverpool Louhas pointed out there has been an organised rash of "dodgy"applications. Don't forget that the people scrutinizing these applications probably speak very limited English, and cannot reasonably be expected to deduce things from erroneous applications. The onus is on the applicant to make sure his form is 100%. What a strange world we live in! I find myself agreeing with @Liverpool Lou????????. As for giving one the run around I have found my local Immigration Office helpful. After several years on an extension based on being the parent of my daughter, last year I had a life changing injury, which together with a considerable amount of medical treatment and having to take early retirement as a result, has led to me being unable to renew that extension when it falls due at the end of October, or to travel to Savannakhet to get a fresh visa - sitting in a bus for 12 hours would be agony. My State Pension does not begin until the end of January. The Immigration office suggested a solution; get a visa exempt land entry from Burma or Laos, ( both close to where I live and within my ability to travel), extend it and then repeat the process. That gives me 4 months by which time I will be able to travel to Savannakhet, get a fresh multi entry visa. Then, after a year, my finances will have improved to allow me to go back onto annual extensions. So I have found them helpful, suggesting a solution.

Perhaps they are checking applications which seem dubious. If you are genuine ( married or bringing up a child), with the correct supporting documentation then you shouldn't have a problem. Over the years I have seen several people refused at Savannakhet - invariably because they had the wrong documentation. I once had a chap in the queue ask me what he needed to do to get one! Another classic example was a chap in front of me who was refused - his "evidence" was a couple of bank statements! Savannahket is very busy, my impression is that when they scrutinize your application if all the boxes are ticked, good, if not refused.

Weather Info for Chiang Rai Town and Province
herfiehandbag replied to Emma Lloyd's topic in Chiang Rai
Good stuff - except that it tells us that the total rainfall for the last year is 263 mm, yet last month was 915 mm? -
A green book, given to patients registered with the hospital diabetic clinic, which records blood sugar levels , blood pressure readings, medication prescribed and any changes in medication.

I spent a couple of weeks in the big Public Hospital here in Chiang Rai two years ago. Medical care and nursing care was good. Surgical care was excellent. Food was awful! Total bill, including 2 operations (1 major, 1 a minor follow up) was marginally over your bill for 1 night! Interestingly, the one thing they did make a mess of was my diabetes medication. My daughter brought in all my medication, and my "green book" from my local hospital. They lost half my medications, refused to let me use my injection pen, but insisted on using a conventional syringe, and gave me my medication at all sorts of strange times at variance with the proscribed times. I asked to be able to manage my own diabetes treatment but they wouldn't have any of it. It took me a couple of weeks to stabilise everything after I was discharged.

Why Trump’s court dates may not impact his primary success

Goodness, can you just imagine the alternate bellowing and whining if/when he fails to win the election. The worry must be if the lunatic ammosexual fringe decide to come out and strut their stuff! -
I don't think Biden has sent more troops to the Korean Peninsula to practice invading North Korea. There is an American force based in South Korea, which along with the South Korean military ( which is itself remarkably capable) exists and trains to protect South Korea from the threat of an invasion mounted from North Korea. The peace loving People's Democratic Republic of Korea have a very large amount of ( largely obsolete) artillery permanently emplaced within range of Seoul - permanently emplaced not least because they probably lack the prime movers and logistical means to move or disperse them, and the means or ability to command, control or communicate with them away from those permanent emplacements. In the event of hostilities they wouldn't last more than a couple of hours, although they could do quite a lot of damage in those couple of hours. But that is what South Korea and it's American Allies are preparing for, not to invade the PDRK - the place is a basket case of obsolete infrastructure and incipient famine anyway. Neither South Korea, America or for that matter China want responsibility for that!

I watched Nikki Haley in a brief interview. She made quite a lot of sense, as did Chris what's his name - his weight however will be a handicap, irrespective of the remarkable size of many electors. The problem they both have is that the Republicans have first to emerge from the dark hole which Trump has dragged them down, and that is not going to happen any time soon, certainly not in time for November 2024. It's a bit like hoping that Adolf Hitler would take the hint in July 1944 and stand down for someone who could arrange an armistice! Trump will pull the Republicans down with him in a sort of political gotterdamerung! They will have to start again in the wreckage. If the Democrats have any sense then they will have an alternative waiting in the wings - after all, he/she probably doesn't need to change the Biden administrations policies.
