  1. No. We have moderators. If the forum has trolls then they can be taken down.
  2. Buying a business class Emirates flight seems a remarkably expensive way of acquiring a toilet bag, if Emirates is still flying then 7/11 will probably still be open. Anyway, to answer the OP, I always carry a Swiss Army Knife!
  3. Here we go again Chomper. You're off again after a short break. You have climbed into your bully pulpit, and once again are excoriating anyone who dares to deviate from your Orwellian stream of thought. Shout them down, accuse them of stupidity, drown them out with bellows of "left wing good, right wing bad"! A point to consider, (you won't of course, far too busy shouting your slogans to even consider that any other view has any merit): if concrete measures are taken by politicians to ensure critical thought, on political topics amongst school pupils then the likely result is not critical thought, which means weighing all considerations before coming to a decision, but pupils following the prescribed "group think", particularly when you commence the process with primary school children. And Chomper, you are becoming a comic figure with your enthusiasm for this government's authoritarian instincts. Were Charlie Chaplin still alive to remake "The Great Dictator" I'm sure he could find a cameo slot for you!
  4. Bone spurs got caught up in the pedals?
  5. When led by and taught from one particular political stand point it is unlikely to be critically balanced, and will certainly become a threat.
  6. If crowd sizes are to become a subject of controversy in this campaign, then perhaps a suitable well known individual should be appointed as a "size ombudsman" to adjudicate? May I suggest Miss Stormy Daniels for the role - she has shown some experience and wisdom in ruling on the matter of size!
  7. A not particularly thin end of a very large wedge which will be determinedly hammered home.
  8. And the same might be said about Mr Trump, leaving out the charm bit of course! Politics is a complex, at times Machiavellian business, no less so internal party politics. The Democrats decided that with Biden as candidate they were at considerable risk of losing the election, and not just in the White House, but also in Congress and at state level. So they moved, and replaced Biden. Yes he agreed to step down, but the decision was far from only his. By the same token, few will imagine that Trump became his party's candidate because in a Damascene conversion he was recognised as an absolute paraclete, a leader without peer, wise, noble, dedicated to truth, highly moral fiscally and sexually, with a firm grasp of statesmanship, a magnificent physique and naturally bouffant hair, entirely belying his age! Well I say that, there are a couple of here who judging by their posts do! The Democrats changed Candidates during their campaign. Some call it a bait and switch - I doubt that was the main reason. They want to win, and realised they needed a candidate who had a better chance of winning, and taking with her the rest "down the ballot paper". So they got themselves one. Mind you, have you noticed the groundwork being laid for claims that the change was cheating or somehow a coup - as we speak no doubt legions of whacky comic opera lawyers are being prepared in darkened rooms to launch challenges, we can look forward to more press conferences outside assorted dildo wholesalers. NB, make sure the hair dye doesn't run this time. I only bring that up because in half a century of observing politics, in both the UK and the USA it was without doubt the funniest episode I have seen!
  9. The hypocrisy would be more marked, and certainly more remarkable, if the UK, or even western, expatriate community (we're not immigrants) was: running at 10%+ of the population, had set up, effectively, ghettoes within the major cities, was being massively reinforced by many thousands of undocumented young men, claiming to be seeking asylum yet destroying their identity documents prior to arrival, and being supported and housed at public expense; if these communities were agitating for their own legal system based upon entirely alien religious practices, if these communities had in the last generation given rise to terrorists who had bombed tube trains, buses and concerts, carried out many more individual terrorist attacks, and had repeatedly failed, as communities, to either act against or even hinder the perpetrators of these hostile acts, aimed at forcing change upon the society into which they had moved, legally or illegally. If that were the case then the accusation of hypocrisy would mean something. It is manifestly not, so it is a ludicrous allegation.
  10. Marine Police? Chiang Rai is about as far as you can get from the sea in Thailand!
  11. They are traveling at some considerable speed, in fact one group were reported to have "done a ton" on Soi Saeng Thara. Motorists are advised to avoid this joke, or treat it as a roundabout!
  12. Perhaps they can be linked to global warming as well - closes the loop quite neatly!
  13. Quite a lot of them might be following him out of entertainment value - back along when he was the President ( you may recall those golden times, electric boat batteries never went flat, sharks kept out of the way, and nobody even thought about the crowds at Martin Luther Kings rallies, visitors to the White House were greeted by tables groaning under the weight of mountains of double cheeseburgers, and childless cat women were nowhere near the Vice Presidential remit!) I must admit that I used to follow him on social media, albeit only to see what imbecility he would spout next!
  14. Khon Kaen and Khampaeng Phet, like my local office in Chiang Rai are probably more patient with Farangs - we are less common. I have certainly observed Chiang Rai being less shall I say helpful to Chinese "customers" who make up the bulk of their clientele, and some (many) of whom are notorious for trying to "buck the system"! Maybe, and this is just a guess, Samui have in a similar way reached their "patience limit"?
  15. Are you suggesting that his vile views are shared by the current Democrat candidates, (a magnificent feat of projection of which you must be proud) or is this a criticism of his (out of date) sartorial style?
  16. Messrs Yousaf and Swinney should "get with the game" and realise that Musk has more money than sense, frequently spouts rubbish, and has yet to tire of his latest toy! His (Musk's) imbecilic burblings merely encourage the suggestions that social media needs regulating and controlling!
  17. Releasing insects seems appropriate, given that these poisonous anti semitic creatures favoured dwelling places are damp, dark places under large flat stones!
  18. Should Trump win it will suddenly emerge as the top priority. Meanwhile let us concentrate on electric sharks circling sinking boats, the size of the crowds at Martin Luther Kings rallies, and in the vice presidential stakes, childless cat women! 😃
  19. Magnificent - you have absolutely surpassed yourself! It is Obama's fault!
  20. It is fundamentally quite simple. You can unpack it as much as you like. The Olympic boxing authorities have bowed to pressure to allow two males, competing as women, to win gold and silver medals in the women's welterweight class. Boxing, as a sport for girls, is over.
  21. Indeed, you "sluffed it all off"! Going well for you is it?
  22. 14 years ago ( so in relatively recent memory) the Thai military opened fire on civilian protestors. 85 were killed, including, at Wat Phatunam Temple, where wounded were being treated, and a clearly identifiable nurse who was treating the wounded was shot and killed. That particularly egregious massacre, obviously well planned, involved troops using the vantage point of the adjacent sky train tracks to fire into the Temple, which had previously been declared a "sanctuary". That, particularly the Wat Phatunam massacre, was a message sent by the "elites", a message sent telling the Thai people that they would kill, ruthlessly and without fear of consequences, to ensure their political hegemony. The Thammasat University Massacre of 1976 sent the same message - and suppressed popular opposition for 25 years or so. The 2010 massacres reinforced that message, and have resonated throughout the politics of the last 14 years. What is more, everyone knows that the two military men who were behind that episode, and who subsequently toppled the elected Government of Yingluck Shinewatra, are still, effectively, in power. Now many of us would like to see genuine popular reform, including an actual elected government, in power; but several of us I know also have children who are students. My daughter is a first year student. Whilst not politically active she has strong views, and I don't want her facing the guns of these corrupt bastards. They will eventually over reach themselves and fall. It is happening to the north, my hope is that here it is not as bloody. There is much that can be done, not least in pressure, consistently and loudly, applied by democratic foreign governments, which would expose the sham that it is a "specifically Thai form of democracy"! Personally I had some hopes of Srettha Tavisin. I was being foolishly optimistic. He is just a puppet.
  23. Yes, but as was once pointed out by someone now a well known political figure: you have to be lucky every time, we have to be lucky once!
