Context is all. These actions must be considered in context. It really is very simple. The context is that our leaders lack the collective guts, backbone, determination, to stand up to these people.

I agree, but it is a sad fact that racism is completely hardwired into American politics, and society, and has been for decades. The current utter mess which is the upcoming general election serves to illustrate that.
