  1. These extra evening, weekend and summer school are an important "cash earner" to supplement the (admittedly pathetic) salaries of Thai teachers. What has happened in many schools is that the real teaching takes place in these cash paid "extra lessons". It is a racket, but a lucrative one. The teachers will hang on to It like grim death.
  2. I would hope so, but of late party affiliations seem to be central to many judicial appointments.
  3. Goodness me - reducing the classes? The children's foot drill, close order marching and turnings at the halt have yet to recover from the damage wrought by the COVID lockdowns!
  4. A P6 science class, armed with tape measures and graph paper? The whole numbers are easy enough to work out, the 2 decimal places, well I always encouraged the children to be creative. Used to drive the school authorities mad, but they didn't have anyone else to teach maths and science in English - and I got O levels in both( 1974)! We had loads of fun measuring up the school hall. The best bit was all the " management" popping their heads out of offices like whack a mole, to see what the mad farang was up to now!
  5. "Patong Go" are those little deep fried X shaped donuts which as you do rightly point out underpinned Thai Airways dramatic recovery ( financially)!
  6. In fairness you have admitted that Jews have continuously lived there for thousands of years, yet you do go on to suggest that does not count. Yet the Muslims, who arrived by conquest a little under one thousand years ago should be the deciding factor? And the Palastinian Arabs who only emerged as a coherent society or political entity with the dismantling of the Ottoman Empire post World War 1 inherit that mantle. You also omit to mention that the political reality is that those ruling over that Palestinian Arabs/Muslim people (certainly in the case of Gaza, and inevitably when the corruption within the PLO administration in the West Bank topples it) is implacably opposed to the existence of Israel, and proclaims the need to kill them (whisper it quietly, but that is advocating for genocide!). Ironically, another political reality, the powerhouse behind these Arab Muslim Palestinians is another country, a fair way away, and which is itself not Arab but distinctively Aryan! Iran. They have already effectively taken control of Lebanon, and large swathes of Syria. Their ambition extends southwards fired by an implacable hatred of Jews. I would also be a bit nervous actually if I was Turkey, although their (Turkey's) current government thinks it can play them off, their dalliance with Putin's Russia may have weaker their hand somewhat! Israel is certainly central to the whole region. If (which I don't think will happen) it is destroyed, there will not only be a pitiless genocide on a scale even greater than the Holocaust, but massive instability and savage warfare throughout that part of the World. Food for thought!
  7. Asking for a new trial on procedural grounds? Who the hell does this Hunter Biden fellow think he is? Donald Trump?
  8. "Other commercial activities..." The Aviation Patong Go market will become pretty competitive!
  9. Almost certainly sorely provoked - she was probably not even wearing a veil. You can't expect young males to advertise their gaze all the time!
  10. France does not deserve it ( neither for that matter does the UK nor Canada). The politicians have never really consulted their electorates on immigration. They (the politicians) knew better. In this area of policy/politics a distinct democratic deficit has arisen over a couple of generations. The voters are not happy - hence the rise in support for right wing parties ( not extreme right) such as RN in France and Reform UK. They are being balanced by the bleats of the left wing, who in both countries dominate the media; the politicians who have either allowed it to slide or have encouraged it are "kopping it in the neck".
  11. Mind you, at least with widespread postal voting the women will be able to stay at home and still vote!
  12. The call went out to police nationwide: " P p p pick up a penguin"! Seriously, I wonder if he is still alive?
  13. If it is that secret, haven't they heard of cam nets! There again, as someone has already pointed out, if it is so secret why a manufacturers press release?
  14. I'm shocked, horrified and amazed. In about equal amounts...
  15. A volunteer was often regarded as a chap who didn't understand the question!
  16. A couple of questions. Was "forgiving" student loans part of Biden's programme when he was standing for election, and won that electiin Was the matter debated and passed through Congress? If so, can the Supreme Court over ride the expressed wish of the electorate, or has It now taken upon itself those powers?
  17. Oh don't worry, no conscript is likely to get anywhere near one of those, far too politically unreliable. More likely one of these:
  18. Various scams rather unraveling aren't they!
  19. Why should he be selling his ring?
  20. Since he has been locked up in Belmarsh Prison for the last 5 years, and was living in the spare bedroom of the Ecuadorian Embassy for the 7 years before that I doubt he is that well informed on "Biden's Gaza BS."
  21. Pretty sure that Assange won't do that! He makes "Sheldon Cooper" look modest, shy and retiring!
  22. Virtually no countries or societies/civilisations which exist today were around 40,000 years ago, certainly not the Islamic society in that part of the Middle East which is now Israel. They poled up in the 11th century AD, by which time Jewish communities had been living in the region since at least the 18th century BC - some oh, 3000 years or more before that. Now I don't believe that the legal justification for the state of Israel should be solely based on the existence of the ancient tribes of Israelites, but if your arguement is based on ancient societies occupation of the land then it does rather fail. Over simplified, but the Jews had It first, then the Christians, then the Muslims. The Jews, and Christians, remained in place (under various degrees of repression, codified by the Islamic religion) when the Muslims conquered Extra lessons on the subject perhaps?
  23. Oh don't worry, it's like whack-a-mole, another one will pop up!
  24. Using threats of violence, and then actual violence to prevent a congregation from going to their synagogue seems rather anti Semitic to me.
