  1. I have a like problem, my wife turn 65 and 2 months before she did we register her though Manila. The problem was she could not receive SS payments because had only lived in the USA 3 1/2 years before I retired from the USAF overseas in England. I came directly to Bangkok spend 90 on leave a here and retired here. I work with SS in Manila and was able to set up a automatic withdrawal from my Credit Union to pay for her Medicare part B, SS pull's the funds from our account, we do nothing worked the last 14 years, which is required in order to be covered by Tricare overseas medical insurance plan overseas. Found it unfair that her time being overseas with me on government orders did not count for the 5 years need living in the USA before covered by Medicare part B.
  2. Being we are on the subject of Thai Banks and issue of receiving replacement bank pass books and ATM cards. I have question. Has anyone at any Bank in Thailand had a problem of getting issued a Debit Card for a Joint Savings account? I have had a Joint savings account at Krungthai Bank for 26 years with a ATM card in my name, my name is listed first in the book and word "OR" and my wife's listed second. The other day I could not use my ATM card to add money to top up my Dtac sim card. I went to different branch of bank the account, and told them the card did not work. I gave them my card which Exp 12/24 and asked to fix the problem they asked for my Pass book Which showed that it was a joint account and they told me NO Joint savings account can be issue a ATM card, yet I have had a ATM card for the last 26 years and they had just charged me in 18 Dec 2021 200 baht for the yearly ATM card fee? I did go to the issuing branch bank and was told the same thing, this after I had called the HQ and asked them and they said I could get a replacement card for ATM PromptCard. I told my branch this they call then called the HQ and got told by a different person No, I talked the person explained everything to her and she said shed check it out after listing to the tape recording of my first call to the HQ and call me back, she did return the call and stills said No the other lady was wrong in what she told me. I check the On-Lime Info for being issued ATM PromptCard. For the other ATM card Pearl ect: it stated no ATM for joint accounts, but for the ATM PromptCard nothing said Only requirements were age 15, deposit in 500 Baht, copy of ID and a current saving account. I'm in long talks with the HQ how. They are getting with legal department on this issue. I'll let you known the out come. By the way I have ATM cards with joint saving account with Kasikornbank two year old account and Bangkok Bank 31 year account.
  3. So No one knows of any store that sells A/C with heat pumps.
  4. I have been looking for Will Template ( just fill in the areas needed ) So far can't find any. Do not own anything House, Cond, or Car in Thailand , but my 800,000 THB at Bangkok Bank use for immigration. have three other bank account all joint, two have my name first and wife second the other wife first. Own nothing in the USA but one joint Bank account. I still would like to have a Thai will requester at the Local Amphora office. Everything going to the wife. We are both 79 years old and married 41 years, have one daughter both Thai and USA citizen, she lives in the USA. Anyone know of a down load site or app?
  5. Here's one that I bet no one has come up against yet. I open a account with Krungthai Bank some 26 years ago just a savings account and a ATM debit Card. Reason being it was just up street from my home and one block from work US Embassy, which before pain me in cash THB but changed to direct deposit, reason for the account. Last week I tried to top-up my cell phone and the card did not work, had not use it for some time. Went to the bank and was told being it was a Joint account, NO debit ATM card could be issued, had to be in my name only? Went home call the HG ATM department and ask about joint savings accounts, was told Joint account for a Pearl debit card cand and some other accounts debit cards cannot be issued due to personal insurance coverage. My debit card was not that kind of account just an plain savings account with Classic debit card. Bank web page said this about getting the classic card was ( shown below ), the women told me I could get a replacement, and go back to the issuing bank and get a replacement card, which may add I had my account debit Jan 2022 for annual fee of 200 THB. When back to the bank. They called the same office got a different person and was told NO debit card for ANY joint accounts. I got the name of the person at the HQ and told her I would be calling back. Went home check the online requirements and then called her told her the date and time and the phone number I called from the day before, she said that she would listen to the tape recording of the call and get back to me. One hour later she called me back and said that she listen to conversation that I had the day before, what I was telling was truth about the call, but the lady told me was wrong, NO debit cards for any Joint accounts. I ask about web page and she told me the English version was wrong and the Thai version said no joint accounts were issued debit card any more. Closed 4 of my wifes accounts at the bank, left open one account because she receives direct monthly deposits. Next transferred the money to our Kasikornbank, joint accounts and debit card. Qualification 15 years old and above Minimum required deposit at 500 Baht for saving account or 10,000 Baht for current account No minimum income requirement Document of application Copy of valid National identification smart card or official identification card Book bank of saving account or account number of current account
  6. I have lived in Bangkok for the last 31 years. Build our house and paid cash for it, which was move in ready 2 wks after we arrive. I am America but had lived in Centeral England for 6+ years before retiring here, did not even go back to the US for 3 years after we got here. I have a very good pention and can live either here or the US with the same live style. Only downside is the Woke/Pc idiots now in my home city Seattle, will never live there again. I find the cost of food here higher for many items I like to eat. The cost of untiltes are about the same here as in the US but car prices are real high here. My reason for staying in Thailand is the medical care and its cost here, have a very good insurance so the cost at Bangkok Hospital is very little for us and no waiting to see a doctor. Everyone has their reasons were to live.
  7. My USA credit card was used to purchase a Fan in the USA FL, then a PC program in NY and again some kind of hardware in CA all the same day 2 Aug. I before I never use the Credit card for anything in Thailand its kept in the safe. But on the 1st of Aug I needed to top up my sim card for the phone, so used the card with Large D Thai Phone companies web page, to try to top up sim card but it failed in processing so, gave up and planned on going to the mall next day and top up with PH store there. On the 2nd received fraud msg of a fraud use on my card. Had to call them in the US and they list all the purchase, I told them I''m in Thailand I have the card. They cancelled all the purchase, but also cancel the card and are issuing as new one. I called PH company and told them some one at their company had got the info and sold it . Do not think they will do anything about it but I learn a lesson, Never Use my USA Credit cards in Thailand
  8. My expince with cashless only. Was at the local Samitivej Bangkok Hospital. Went into a Sartbuck outlet did not the small sign (no cash) we ordered our drinks and food. Them perpaired them I the ask how much ( around 600 Baht) went to pay in cash they said NO Cash, I did not have any local bank card, they said only cards. Itold them sorry do have and walk out. When right across the walk way to anotrher shop asked if they take cash they did , got our drinks and food, paid and left. I avoid cashless establishments (my choice)!
  9. I seen Lengelbert Humperdinck live at DM AFB NCO club in Tucson AZ back around 1969. His plane had some problems and could not leave until the next day. He called the NCO Club and asked if they would like him to come over and sing that night, of cource they said yes. It was one of the Best nights I had at that club, front row table right next to the dance floor, never had so much fun as that night. And for free no cover charge, he did it for the troops!
  10. If you would like hot water in the kitchen you may also what it in other areas of the house. 14 years ago I had a properly installed solar powered hotwater system for our house 4 bedroom with 3 bath rooms, kitchen inside and also out side, wash machine. Had single water heaters befor only in the bathrooms. It by far is the best thing I ever done to upgrade the large 225 sq meters house. A little costly but had gone so much use out it and up the elecite bill alot. Have not had any maintence done on since install.
  11. Your word tisting, you need to work for Bidin. Your words with a tisted reply. "Would they prefer that they pay more so that the parks can lower the cost for foreigner tourists or expats that don't want to go through the residency process?" No they beleive it's wrong to dual price on anyone just because there here and not Thai. I never said that "my Thai family does not go to any National Parks where they get in for a discounted price"? They travel a lot here to places that have due have dual price, or over seas, to National parks around the world that do not have dual pricing. other. They just feel it's not correct thing for a goverment to do dual price. I see by your words that you are not a natual born Thai. Seems you think just because I have been here 30+ plus years I should have change to Thai Nationalty! Lets see 1,900.00 X 31 yrs = 58,900.00 THB for yearly renewal of stay and and the cost of 191,400 THB cost to change to Thai Nationalty. PLUS Notification of Immigration Commission Criterion and conditions of foreign nationals’ residential permit consideration Base on the authority prescribed in Section 7, Section 41, Section 43 and Section 45 of Immigration Act B.E. 2522 stipulate that foreign nationals who wish to attain resident in the Kingdom of Thailand may apply for resident permit with the Immigration Commission 1.4 The applicant must be able to understand and speak Thai language So looks like some of your past data is wrong. But the cost is not why I never changed to be a Thai national, it was more work related. Had to be US born national and NO dual nationalty, real good money and alot of traveling..
  12. My Thai family is my wife and daughter andmy wifes sisters and brother, along with their old childen. They agree with me, Plus they all have more money then my wife a me have, and we are well off. If they what go so be it, I don't care. Our daughter and herfamily come here from the USA 2 to 3 times a year, like it and go where ever they what, she is free of charges to get in the rest must pay the higher price. Do they like, No dose it stop them from going some want, but if they really want to go they do, it's not about the money poeple it's the way the Thai goverment belease they can get more money, but they are really are losing out in that case. We have been everywere we wanted to go here, nothing more to see here the rest of the world is where we are going to see..
  13. Only the ones that every one gets in free. Money was never the issue, I have enought and will not spend it all before I die. It's just Thai's thinking I own it to them enoughing more, just that simple. Moved here 16 June 1991, been in the same house in BKK, shopped the same local stores ect, just don't think I own you anything just because I'm not Thai.
  14. Make this short 31+ years ago went to a Thai national Park, with my Thai wife and our daughter. Wife free, Daughter free, although she did not have any Thai looks, all Farlang. For Me they want 200 + THB . We turn around and left have never again gone to any place that will charge me more the the nornal Thai would be charged. Go shoppping in the market if price is not shown do not purchase. The End
  15. We shipped our full household goods and to included outdoor furnture from UK. Did follow the rules on one each major applince items, but they were new some not eveny out of the box. Use my wife as shipper as she had been 10 yrs out of Thailand. All items were packed into cardboard boxes and then into large plywood containers (14) + one carpet container, total wieght 10,463 pounds. Do not know if they were ship inside a metal container or not. We stayed in guess housing for one week and then departed UK. Arrived here and stayed another week in mother inlaws house, the builders need that week to finish the new house. Call Customs, items had been some time already (don't known how that happen less then 2 weeks to get here. They could have came by plane, had that happen before. Wife and her sister went that day to CS, They told them 2 weeks or more to release the items. Wifes sister call some one and then they said deliver that afternoon. ( I guess it's turn it's not what you know, but who you know.) A few small things damaged but nothing to worry about and Everything else was fine.
  16. I live in Bangkok so use CW for 90 day reporting. CW requires you to mail in TM 47 15 days before reporting date. If you use the on line reporting it can take 2-3 work days to get approved or rejected. If rejected then you must go out to CW to do the report. I have always used the mailed in for mine, but last time I tried the on line system, on a Monday, no reply in one day so mailed it in knowing all I would get on the approved report would be a stamp telling me " must be mailed 15 days before Next Time you report. Why CW dose not give you a few more days to mail it in like the law states then I'm sure more people would use the on line system.
  17. I have a question as my daughter has the same problem. Do the Air Lines in Thailand ask about a visa before issuing the the bording pass, or do they not if you purchased a around trip ticket?
  18. Niether my wife or me are allergic to any food that we know of. We have been living here 31 yrs I have learned of a few things about Thai's and them never wanting to give bad news to anyone. I would say this if you have any food aliiergics "Do Not Come to Thailand", you will never know for sure whats in the food.
  19. I moved to Thailand 31 years ago, had a new Western stlye house build and ready to move into. Family on all sides. Where is it. West of Pattanakarn soi 53 to soi 69 at the East end of town. Many International schools in the local arae. I live in Muang Tong Grandens Proj:2 /4. Close two large fish pounds with alot of place to walk around. There are many K-12th kids in the arae but like most place hard to get to know the neighbors, seem kids are better at that then grown ups. Both shopping and Hospitals very close 10 to 15 mins by car. We rasied our daughter here from 2- 12 grade in RIS school, which is really a perschool for college. She went the USA for college and received her Phd. I Love it here and do not another place in BKK that I would love better.
  20. This for Ubon Joe: when I log in to the 90 day reporting system, using eithr URL it opens a box alreaty filled in User name and pass word. then below the mixed up letters you have to type to prove your an person. Next comes the fill in the blankc question. Once comply filed in I send it. It comews back a few days later rejected . Then I can look at the PDF file sent and it is always missing were file *(Bangkok) what type of vise (non-O) I have used the old log in , the new log in and the immergation 90day log in. Any reason . I have A TM 6 TM 30 current and TM 47 current.
  21. I tried to use it 2 months ago First I registered sent it off came back with ID and P/W . Loged in filled requested items , snet off later that day received reply denied. I was able to look at form sent and it did not include where made (Bangkok) or type of visa (non- Resident ) How I arrived (plane) TR 30 number Ect. Dose anyone know how to deleted my regression so I can start over again, I must have left that info out when I first signed up?
  22. I tried to do the on line TM 47 90 reporting for the first time I always before mailed it in to CW but the last time I did it took 55 days get back. So this time I when to the immigration web page found the 90 day reporting button click it, I beleave it ask for my e mail and pastport number and Name. Filled that in and got a e-mail with a P/W with many letters and number. Log in and filled out all the information asked for. Sent it in and got reply with in a short time, saying they received the TM 47 and it had a PDF file attached. Open the PDF, it did not show Written At: which is Bangkok, did not tick the box for type of visa: which is Non-Imm, did not show arrived by: which was Plane and it did not have arrival card No. the TM 6 number. I said to myself this will never be approved, so mail in the documents the next Morning. Came home from shopping had e-mail IMO disappoved. Do not know where I went wrong?
  23. Yesterday got our Moderna bosters , just called Vibharam Hospital just down street from use, the day before and may a appointment for 11 AM got there early 10 AM. Had copy of earler shots at Bangkok Hospital, but they were fully booked until new batch of Moderna comes in May or June, same for Srinakarin. Paid 3,300 baht and left.
  24. I have been here since 1991 June 6, the first 2 years I had agent do the annual extension for me an my daughter. Seen easy so I tired on the 3rd year myself, went smoothly all I did was add a extra envelope with 1000 baht bill in it, Had all paperwork in one large Brown envelope. That when fine for about 4 years the then on the 6th year IO was gone new Lady working the english speaking countries, pull the extra envelope and went just as smoothly as before. But do I mind changes to the rules, seems like each year something new is added the list of documents. But I do not plan on leaving as the health care is better here than in the USA. Need a MRI done in the USA week or two before you get, here done with in one hour just can not beat that anywhere I know of.
  25. Being the Thailand government dose not approve, Health insurance from a company out side of Thailand, if they start making those of us on extension of stay "O" NON that have been here along time we will have to leave, wife and I both are 78. I have USA Government Overseas TRICARE FOR LIFE for my 30+ years of service In the Air Force. Some you think it is free it is not, to be cover you must be able and to enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B which cost $148.50 per month so me and my wife pay $148.50 X 2 X 12= $3564.00 Plus the first $300 for medical care each year. We must first pay the Bill in full then send file for each claim, If approve TRICARE pays 80% of the hospital bill back to us. Tricare dose not insure Insurance cards or Policy's only prove of coverage is you military ID card. Only 5 Hospital groups are approved by TRICARE and you guess which ones they are, Mind is Bangkok General Hospital, the other for are also the most costly in Thailand. If the Thai government does not accept TRICARE health insurance coverage. We will be gone very quickly. Tricare has for the last 6 Years paid millions of baht for our coverage. My wife right now is in ICU for the last two days and @ 2 MRI scans Plus all the other charges .
