Israeli with Omicron who fled quarantine hotel flown back to Bangkok
RobU replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
He is a self important fool who thought he was above the law. Such people would see any 'mercy' as encouragement to continue to break the law in future since there would be no penalty. He should be prosecuted with full force of the law to send a message to prevent other idiots like him taking the risk. -
British man's visit to wife in Buriram turns into Covid Christmas Nightmare
RobU replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Good point -
He is an idiot who committed a criminal act and could have caused other peoples deaths if he had proved positive and spread the infection, as far as he was aware when he did the runner he had tested positive. He deserves to be prosecuted to the full force of the law he intended to break. By your reasoning someone who attempts murder but does not succeed should not be treated as a criminal because they didn't actually kill the person they wanted to murder.

Authorities Recommend 3 AstraZeneca Doses to Fight Omicron
RobU replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
"Authorities Recommend 3 AstraZeneca Doses to Fight Omicron" So why aren't the people who have only been double vaccinated with Sinovac not being called back for AstraZeneca jabs? -
Yes it is a scientific fact i did virology as part of my nursing qualification, and no I will not quote any online research or websites because it is so embedded as fact in the scientific community that there is very little recent research. They don't set out to prove what has already been proven many years ago. The current analysis of the omnicron variant adds to the body of evidence proving the point.

Everyone is taught to only use the right foot for accelerator and brake there is a rest for the left foot in all automatic cars. Using both feet is stupid and dangerous -
Thai female lawyers fight for right to wear trousers in court
RobU replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
It is less than 30 years since women in the UK fought for the right to wear trousers and low heels at work. Thailand is just going through the same social changes that we now take for granted -

DPM Prawit orders rainmaking operations ahead of dry season
RobU replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Rainmaking operations involves using aircraft to seed clouds with dry ice to encourage precipitation (rain). If there are no clouds then it cannot happen -
What I see is a 'Meetings Culture' i.e. 1. "lets hold a meeting" 2. "What For?" 3. "To discuss the future" 4. "what about outcomes?" 5. We'll tell people what we said 6. "Of course, but what practical outcomes?" 7. "Practical?" 8. "Yes, what will you do as a result of this meeting?" 9. "Oh yes I understand what you mean now.... we will have another meeting to discuss this meeting." Return to line 1

every time I hear something like this about Pattaya I say the same Repair things and maintain the infrastructure. Give pedestrians (Tourists) priority, wide sidewalks, safe crossing of the road. Stop thinking that new projects without any follow up maintenance are the answer. Pattaya is a dilapidated seaside town which does not cater for tourists. It has dangerous infrastructure and not family friendly. The reports of locals getting injured and killed by lack of maintenance and poor signage of holes in the road are frequent. I wonder if the signal controlled crossing on 2nd road has been repaired yet (I doubt it it's only been 2 years since I was there)

Watch out for low flying brass monkeys.???? Brass monkeys were actually the regulators for old steam engines 2 brass balls brazed to short lengths of steel which spun rapidly as the balls raised the spinning slowed. In very cold weather the brazing could break down and the brass balls would fly off. -
Miss Universe Thailand’s unorthodox but traditional costume
RobU replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I think she looks beautiful, sexy, strong and powerful. It is probably the latter terms (strong and powerful) that stimulate the derogatory remarks from old foreigners who can only cope with subservient women and run away from their own countries because strong powerful women who are their equals frighten them -
