  1. Yup, and some of my aquantances just got the 2nd jap last week. It is moving. The UK is pretty much back to normal after their jabs.
  2. It would be wonderful to watch their country flourish. But it will likely just be a breeding ground for radical islam. If their religion wasn't so hell bent on consuming the world, especially in a violent manner, and not to mention being so backward, oppressive, and extreme - I'd be happy for them getting their country back.
  3. You are being a little melodramatic. Nobody said abandon them - just that they should be advised to stay at home, not the entire world's population! They can still get food delivery and emotional support from relatives. They could even go out for a weekly shop to get essentials, like many of us have been doing. The point is that if you are not high risk, you would not likely be a burden on the hospitals. You would get a mild illness and manage at home. The hospitals would be reserved for severe cases (which has not been the case thus far in many countries - low risk people taking up beds) Depression? Yes, I worry about the mental health of EVERYONE stuck at home, even more those out of work with depending children! Suicide has gone up during covid. You can subtract those figures from your 1.2% and tell me what percentage you get then? (and also subtract the regular normal death figures from influennza to get a baseline comparing the two viruses). I worry more about children not being able to see friends, socialize, develop normally. I worry about the mental health impacts of children more than elderly. They are now glued to their screens for e-learning 5-8 hours a day. Screen time consumption is related to depression in children among other nasty mental illnesses. And then there are the poor children whose schools have provided zero e-learning. They just get no education cos of this.
  4. The concept is: if you are not an "at risk" person you aren't likely to have a life threatening illness and therefore be hospitalized. The at risk people can isolate to protect themselves and relieve the burden on the healthcare system.
  5. Use the word "normal" - it is! I honestly don't know why the world is locking down this way. Ekon Musk had it right: isolate the high risk people. Why is EVERYONE in lockdown?
  6. If you are high risk then you should stay at home. Simple. If you don't want to, it's your risk. But don't keep more than 99% of people at home for less than 1% of at risk people.
  7. Excellent. Imagine a global lockdown for a fraction of a percent of the population at risk. Lol No, we don't need to imagine: it happened!
  8. Kids aren't unsafe from covid. It barely affects them. The ONLY people who should be staying at home are the "at risk" individuals. But no, let's lockdown planet Earth for less than 1% of humanity who are high risk of dying from covid.
  9. God, who knows At this point I think Elon Musk is right: only the "at risk" people should be made to stay at home. The rest should be free to go about as normal. If your are low risk for severe covid illness and still want to stay at home, up to you, by all means. And if the high risk people don't want to stay at home. Up to them. It's their risk.
  10. These dogs already caused someone to lose an arm! Or did you miss that part?? The whole concept to put down a dog that has biten is the speculation that they might do it again. Which part of this is difficult for you to grasp?
  11. Was he trying to burgal the place?! No, he was dropping off fruit for complete fud of a woman with almost deadly dangerous dogs. Totally deserves to lose an arm. Lol And if a child puts its arm through? The dogs should be put down. Ownee probably doesn't give two craps. Thais like having aggressive dogs - that's the whole idea behind having dogs to them. But I bet if they were to escape they'd kill a child.
  12. You could tell him that the odds of dying from the vaccine are still less than the odds of dying from covid (irrespective of all other variables, including his age)
  13. You know doctors have had it, right? They are pretty smart. They also wear spaceman suits to work and they still got it. You don't even know that you don't put a space before ! and ?, Lol. Go back to P3, sunshine! (see? no space).
  14. Bull... The prices they charge, they ought to have a million in the bank. In fact, one recently sent me a snapshot of her bank balance : it was over a mill. I don't have any sympathy; they have been earning loads. I do feel for low income workers affected. My cousin in law brags of how she earns 50k a month in Phuket and 100k a month on her trips to Japan and Korea. Yet her daughter's entire mouth is rotten, every tooth. She seems autistic or something; doesn't communicate. They haven't checked it out with the doc. Her son is 11 and the size of an 8 year old girl, totally stunted. He will be in secondary school next year and is illiterate and doesn't even know 10÷2=5. He seriously couldn't do it. With what she earns she could send them in the schoolbus to a city school and not neglect their health to a shocking extent. But money is worth more. I think this is a common story. I would feel bad for the ones who spend their salary on their kids though and don't have much in savings. I think the ones without savings are gambling it away. Like I said, no sympathy for those in that profession. They have had plenty of time to make hay while the sun was shining and earning top dollar.
  15. Bangkok changes so fast and a lot of old bars are gone. But I am in the mood for a historical pub crawl (after covid). I wanna try them before they are no more. And if anyone fancies joining on such a pub crawl, lemme know! I know about the Madrid and the Old Other Office, but what else is there? Doesn't necessarily have to be Vietnam War era, but just bars that have been around since the 90s at least. Cheers.
