Thus doing what ever it takes to stay longer, abuse of the education visa, since when do Ruskies want to learn another language lol. I've read it may be very difficult soon to get the ' I don't want to go home' education visa......

From what I understand, Thailand will be refraining from giving the Nationality of foreigners who are arrested, perhaps something like this doesn't need to be printed as well.......????

They better revamp their Ed. Visa prerequisites in a hurry or they may have thousands of Russian soldiers here for the 'nice weather' for quite some time........

Gooder morning
I think in march 23 i will obtain a thai insurance from pacific cross for 6 months until September 23. Then leave thailand without reentry to have the non-oa invalidated. Thereafter reenter on visa exempt then apply for the non-o to extension of stay.

Good plan, I did something similar, left 3 months into my first OA extension without a re-entry permit and returned with a 90 day Non O from home country Thai Embassy then to yearly extensions.....

You could probably pay again shift and add your health coverage from March 23 to November 2023 go back to immigration and request the full year be stamped or just have your health Insurance renewed and ready to align for a year at extension time again on March 23. The joys of the OA..

A military friend who has liaised with the Thai army in recent years, including Cobra Gold, said they were universally regarded as hopeless.
And yet eager for those F-35's.........????

Last year an IO at CW said they prefer to do the stamp changing to new PP at extension time if you are staying in Thailand, and said if you are leaving the country they would make the stamp change to new PP before you leave......

Where's the Russia numbers ?

'Russian tourists' is not quite accurate, 'fleeing' is a better word, there's a large number of Russian military here including my neighbour who are waiting it out in the warmth of Thailand and earning petty cash online with crypto, unfortunately for most they don't have a long stay visa option.........

I took my old and new PP to branch and the address notification slip from immigration in PP was enough to update at SCB anyway, COR not needed.....

Lots of planes coming to Pattaya full of Russians, apparently. I wonder how many of them are full when returning...
They better take a returning airplane seat rather than a IDC seat.......

Its awful isn't it, the Immigration overstaying sweep currently going on should make its way down here soon and clean it up....

And possibly find Education Visas very difficult to obtain soon, get home and grab your rifle......

I just heard the rumor that all education visas are being reviewed due to Chinese ruining it for everyone. Apparently agents have been notified.
Problematic for many Russians here I would think as well............

Does Thailand know that the huge Russian numbers are here for another reason other than the tourist thing ? On the cheap for longer stays - home means war.........

This system will decimate the number of successful applications and either be cancelled or completely and urgently redesigned.
If they redesign it - it will all happen again.
My prediction - complete and utter failure of the whole thing and a reversal to paper applications inside the next 1 to 2 years after massive damage has been done.
Spot on !

Exactly, even a tourist visa stresses many out, ridiculous.......
