Do you require insurance for an online application for a  Non O based on retirement?

From the London Thai Embassy -

    • Non-Immigrant Type (Retirement (pensioner aged 50 or above with a state pension who wants to stay in Thailand for no longer than 90 days) - single entry only)
    •
    • Financial evidence e.g. A copy of pension statement if the applicant is a pensioner, or a copy of 1-month bank statement showing your income from pension, or 3-month bank statement of at least £10,000
    • Confirmation of legal residence in the UK or Ireland. Copy of health insurance that covers COVID-19 related medical expenses, both inpatient and outpatient, no less than 100,000 USD for the whole period of your stay in Thailand.

    Is this Insurance still required?

I'm not sure about the health insurance thing on the Non O  e-visa application presently, I had valid insurance from a 'killed off' OA nine months ago. Write on a piece of paper your UK bank balance is your coverage upload it and submit,  see if you get through.......

Well good luck with that gamble and they've got the finances to bluff it out.

Even if Putin pops his clogs before they go back they've still committed a crime against the state and they WILL be punished. Putin or no Putin.

My brief stay Russian neighbours ( military ) managed to buy an ED Visa and are hanging out in Hua Hin, when that is exhausted she mentioned Argentina to make a baby and get 3 Argentinian passports. Sounds like refugee talk and or wait on Putins demise.......

Give it another 6 months. Desperate people will start to desperate things and that is when the real pushback will come.

it won’t even come from whiny expats like me. It will be Thai people.

Think its well started, locals I've spoken to seem to be quite fed up with their mannerisms etc and wondering "why so many are here?"... could be fair to say the majority of locals do not know whats happening in Russia......

I loathe them and don't feel bad about it. They are rude, loud, standoffish and don't integrate. Every forum or social media platform seems to have a small minority of posters claiming unwarranted racism is directed towards them but the majority of people seem to thoroughly dislike them, Thai people included. I have no interest in my very expensive gym membership or using my developments pool because they have taken them over and are forever loud, rude and unfriendly.

The question is what happens in 6-12 months from now when the savings run out and the Russians have no intention of leaving Thailand even though they have extremely limited employment opportunities. The running narrative is that most are well off professionals but I call BS. I have seen many that appear to be skint based on their rented or purchased motor vehicles. Wealthy people don't ride a bicycle or a 125cc scooter as their one and only means of transport.

    Deport!

    Many are walking as well........

GO HOME AND FIGHT PUTIN. How can you lay on a beach, sunning yourselves and playing with your children whilst your Government is mass murdering innocent families in your neighbouring country ? These are ordinary people just like you who have done you no harm, your former soviet cousins who speak the same language as you, with whom many of you have friends and family connections. Your silence is not an option. SHAME ON YOU.

Yes there is something definitely wrong with the broader picture here............
