    I think what's happening is the Ruskies who are the majority here are staying anywhere but hotels for longer cheaper stays........

    Entered Thailand at Narathiwat, seems like a strange area to enter not to mention dangerous at times......

    Its awful isn't it, the Immigration overstaying sweep currently going on should make its way down here soon and clean it up....

    And possibly find Education Visas very difficult to obtain soon, get home and grab your rifle......

    Does Thailand know that the huge Russian numbers are here for another reason other than the tourist thing ? On the cheap for longer stays - home means war.........

    Very very very long flight to be on with AC flight attendants..........goodluck

    I did my application all online last December ( Covid times ) it took about 4 weeks due to the holidays. Address verification was done by a DHL drop and pickup at my Thai address, questionnaires, encrypted emails and attachments, ensure your signature is identical to your Passport signature, source of your money, Zoom calls, it was thorough. You need to show your long stay visa as well. May be easier to just fly there now for a couple days........

    Citibank Singapore is good, need a fair chunk of USD to open and keep a hefty minimum balance......

    Unfortunately for me, online DL renewal is not allowed, making it a visit trip as well........

    Many want to learn Thai language as well (education visa) and pigs fly......

    I'm making a trip to home country just to renew my DL in August, not letting that slide away and create headaches sometime in the future........

    You've lost many of the Scandinavian / European tourists due to the Russia-Ukraine war but have opened the flood gates for lower spending Russians ( 'tourists' is not accurate either ). Probably look like Covid times in Phuket without the 50,000 that arrived in November......

    Fantastic, I thought it was just me noticing that Ruskies don't queue in 7/11 cashier lines.....get your elbow and shoulder back in front of their arm, works well....

    Exactly, the entire country I believe has no idea whats happening between Russia and Ukraine and it doesn't matter as long as they fill the restaurants and hotels......
