    Just to add, I recently had a chat with a young Russian couple ( temporary neighbour ). He was in the Military and like many he is not going to Donbas to fight Putins war. Here on a 45 day stamp then to Malaysia and back for another stamp, many are here in the same situation he said. Not sure if 'Russian Tourists' is the correct wording......

    I think whats happening at Patong Immigration as well is that many folks run in there trying to get something done with no paper work of their own or even a pen. I did a TM30 there took 15 minutes and a Certificate of Residence on another occasion took 15 minutes. IO stated ( appeared to be the senior guy there ) for 90 day reports just bring your previous slip no need a TM47 and other copies or better yet do it online........

    Might be easier to extend at the small Patong immigration office depending where you are located....... Ive seen many in there extending but I don't know what length of extension the office can do......

    Try and get a letter from the hotel stating the monthly rent and maybe a length of term you'll stay there, bring that receipt as well. Ask the hotel if they have reported your stay to immigration, they should have soon as you got there. Yes I had a rental agreement, landlord ID, House registration number and a filled out TM30.

    Agree, I think most strip down their wallet if out on a drink or several, you can also whip out to your nearest Kodak and get your PP data page laminated and slide that in there......

    Exactly Russians are using the ‘Learn Thai Language’ education visa for an extended stay, for many it’s their only option

    I may have a young Russian couple neighbour soon for 2-3 months my landlord says, his inquiries for some of his rentals is 80% Russian. Looking forward to some gentle small talk, see what their mindset is.............
