I had Thai Pacific Cross Health. Ubonjoe will give you a Thai Health insurance companies link, find out from the Embassy if you need 90 days or 1 year coverage, Canuck insurance should be fine as well if you are covered abroad.....
I got a Non O ( retirement ) from Vancouver in May. Yes you will need the health insurance for at least the 90 days, I had existing insurance from a previous O-A. Contact the Embassy I know it says 'for the year' I think 90 days coverage at least should get you through the application.....
Its the 2022 - BBR6 ( auto start ) mostly black with gold rims - 82,500. On order been waiting 4 weeks now. The 2022 key start bikes are 11,000 baht less but loud eye sore colour schemes.....
Yeah, the one I got on order is mostly black with the gold wheel rims, the orange or red rims are definitely an eye sore !! Glad to hear you were happy with the Aerox other than the outrageous colour schemes........
I joined Citibank BKK 4 years ago, 1 million baht deposit to also have a USD account opened. Got their Visa credit card after a 6 month wait. At the time, had to show salary slips. Possibly by November it will be UOB transfering customers straight across my RM tells me. At the first news of Citibank leaving Thailand and no one had any information on who's taking over or if foreign currency accounts were available, I opened with Citibank Singapore and got some money out of here........
Just got my 4th 2 weeks ago, possibly be my last though, in addition to daily Vitamin C + D and Garlic for years, haven't contracted the Big CV yet anyway, avoiding elbow to elbow crowds as well.......
Seen a Honda ADV 350 in Phuket, what a beauty for 190k plus. Also the new Honda 160 click at a shop ( all pre-ordered sold ) was told cannot even order it now...overbooked. The ADV 160 looks nice, good question "whens it here" ? I went with the Yamaha 155 Aerox ( on order ) for 82k.....
Rent 35,000 Phuket ? I just got a very clean 40 sqm guest room with satellite TV, air conditioning , a fan, big fridge, electric cooker, hot water for 8000 / month in Karon. There's 35 - 70,000 a month if thats what blows your hair back !
Yes I had about 6 - 1200 baht charges on my Thai visa credit card from Facebook ads, have no idea how that happened, cancelled the card, bank credited the charges and sent a new card.....
I'm having a joyous time here in Phuket regarding address registration. The owner of the guest house Im interested in is a little foggy on TM30 requirements. He owns a hotel as well and gets his office staff doing the register thing with tourists staying at his hotel. I said I'm a long stayer and in late August will apply for extension based on retirement and about to sign your long stay rental lease, you cannot register me at the hotel, I'm not staying there. I need the proper Tabien Baan number of your house. I've met several times with him discussing what I need to either go in person to immigration or do an online TM30. He's working on the rental agreement and House ID number again, I have his ID copy. Anyway he seems to be trying. Is he trying to hide from a tax issue here or he is just a little oblivious of the documents I need ? I'm the one who gets fined if address registration is not correct or worse I'm denied a retirement extension in 2 months time.
At CW last November, I went in about 55 days prior to my permission to stay stamp with new passport and old passport and 'transfer stamp' form filled out, she told me to come back next month and will do the stamp transfer to new passport and visa extension at the same time.......
Friend of mine has the rare 10 year O-X, every time he arrives the IO's are scratching their heads on determining the stay stamp date, arriving with the LTR in your passport probably be held up for a couple hours......
Exercise 5-6 days a week, eat well, buy a BP monitor, monitor yourself at home. Take 3 or 4 readings record the lowest. Many have clinic/hospital white coat syndrome = high numbers = Dr.'s writing you BP prescriptions which are also hard on your kidneys etc.....stay active, the numbers do drop ! My doctor once said "do you want to beat this yourself or keep buying medicine"
