Maybe they could start to use AI instead of the 90 days report and address notifications for long term residents...

all the offers named with their titles should be stripped of their titles and jobs, and the money they have made should be go directly to the Revenue Department instead of transferred to other places... They were corrupt no need to doubt that

You forget some spend 65k on rent each month.
I do not think many of them is here, but would be interesting to know what the average wesern actually spend each month in Thailand.
If it is only rent I would find a new home.. I think a lot of people rent a girl too.. 65k is a lot of money surely here in Thailand . If you just live a normal life like in your own country 40k is more than enough. But I know the wine is too expensive, taxes on foreign articles are way too high and some people are here for the happy endings and go out every week or even more.. Which they probably don't do in their own country.. Wit a luxury lifestyle like this, you need more than 65k...

As written earlier... The Shin clan is behind these tensions, so daddy can be the hero to safe Thailand from a war

The visa is not the problem, but all restrictions that Thailand has, such as not allowed to do anything, even volunteer work without a workpermit, alcohol sales and buying hours, double standards for foreigners, seeing foreigners as criminals, with 90 days reports, address notifications etc, and the list can go on. That is what keep foreigners away to retire here. You have the feeling you live here, spend your money here, but nothing else is allowed...and many retirees are not looking for that anymore

In general I am very happy here. Happily I don't live in a touristic place, but in Thailand things are always complicated as we don't understand the Thai way of thinking... Everything is managed in a way it is profitable for them and consequences are never seen. I can deal with it and comments here on the forum are always in general to try to make Thailand a better place for everyone Thai and foreigners

No problem it happens sp may times and as long as the Government doesn't make strict rules and the RTP is not enforce them accidents like these will happen week after week.. Common sense is not available here and by the low wages people are forced to work to get a living...But the rich and famous don't care as it is not in Bangkok and they are not involved...soft power to keep tourists away

Driving education, drugs and lack of enforcing traffic rules... who is to be blamed??

warnings for past days and who cares even if they are meant for next year.. The Government is doing nothing to prevent floods, whenever and where ever they take place...year after year same stories and same floodings and after the rainy season nobody talks or invest in preventing

Again a lot against 1 .. Thais are cowards never dare to fight man to man, but with a group they feel brave, but they are a bunch of cowards..

Thais are cowards, seen it many times... many times a lot of Thais fighting against one or a few.. Never man to man .. First of all there should be written what happened. Nobody will hit someone without reason. But nobody can defend himself against a group of crazy fighters... Good for the tourist industry. It is not the first time this is happening, and Phuket is not the place to be anyway

Thai's just don't like wearing helmets.
I bought my girlfriend a new helmet, she refuses to wear the bloody thing. 😂
You are right, but they like to wear masks.. That is no problem like that will protect them in an accident

The story here is different.. Indeed mother will not cremate her son until justice is done, but as high ranked people are involved ( maffia) they don't believe that justice can and will be done...

The more crackdowns and measures Thailand does, the less attractive it becomes for tourists.. So called measures for safety are only meant to control, but the real danger is in the daily traffic violations by millions of Thais, as no helmets, speeding, drunk driving, all because a lack of enforcement of any law by the RTP. That is the only institution that can make things safer and better but it fails in every field.
And with no investment in the tourist sector facilities, they will loose more and more.. Stop with the outdated laws, review them and enter the 21st century. Thailand doesn't want foreign guides as the job is protected for Thais only and same for touroperator businesses,.. Only a business can open if the foreigner has the 3 Thais who will have 51% of the money.. So If I want a business with my money I will get the minority share.. and only foreigners can hired 1 on 3 Thais.. Just to say no wonder there are all kind of loopholes as it is not of this century anymore...

Loud music is probably the cause of the problem. Especially in Phetchaburi it is common almost everyday to hear that there is a party somewhere ... Music levels are so terrible high, except when it is near the Major his house... and nobody is doing anything about it, but I am not surprised that people are stressed and do things like this... And of course more of this story will follow as news hardly investigate what happened

a group of high-profile detainees
They are just a bunch of criminals, nothing high profile because daddy is an MP??? It is out of date to respect or call high profiled if you are a culprit.. Respect is something that has to be earned not because you are rich or lucky to have a better position. This isn't the 19th century anymore..

Ever noticed a crackdown longer than a few days?? There have been several crackdowns on black smoke cars and drive around and see... I see everyday at least 4 to 6 cars/trucks with heavy blacksmoke.... And if really this crackdown would last forever , the RTP will get a burnout with so much work as Thais won't do it unless heavy fined and that is what the RTP will not to to their own people

It is about nothing, it seems that it is a attempt to draw attention to this than to the real problems next week... and Thaksin violating of section 112 verdict. He will be the one that will talk to Hu Sen and be the hero, so he can't and will not prosecuted
