Who would ever have guessed that PM's panic stricken decision to allow Chinese to enter without any restrictions would see mass criminal activity. I for one am absolutely shaken to the chore and so surprised. Infact i am so shocked i am suprised by my shock state. No one could EVER have forseen this. Shocking that the Chinese would take advantage of a state that is mass filled with tourists. Just can't believe it. Go Srettha.

Hardly a big surprise. Everyone knew once Srettha and his cronies removed all restrictions for Chinese the criminal element would flood in.

Tourism numbers at almost record highs, yet revenue down. Their policies are attracting CHEAP tourists. What happened to the quality tourism reset?

When China proposed the bullet train route into Thailand, you can imagine naive leaders delighted at the proposals, and China paying for it too. Little did they know the true motives is to push cheap crap into Thailand. Not the other way round.

We always assumed the General wasn't a politician, hence why nothing was done regarding the pollution. But this guy has no excuses. As someone who travels around Europe ALOT, used to clean air, a billionaire, for him to do LITERALLY NOTHING TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE REGARDING POLLUTION (especially in Chiang Mai which is ranked as the most polluted city in the world for a few months) is scandalous. You wonder why then a billionaire would be in this game for if it isn't to improve the lives of Thai people ?

Utter nonsense. The UK tried to keep opening up, ended up going into massive lock downs due to hospitals being over run. Go look at the official figures. Thailand by and large for a few months here and there remained open domestically at least. In the UK you were only allowed one hour of exercise a day because the countries health system would have collapsed. What would this guy have done ? Opened up because of his property empire ?

The high speed trains into Thailand from China were not built to be a joint exercise in trade between the two countries. They are designed to flood cheap products from China into Thailand. Not the other way round. The trade deficit with China will continue to widen. China have done this to all most countries nearby.

Prayut at least had the common sense to let people with more expertise take control. Thailand handled covid (compared to many other countries) rather well (despite there being many faults). The current guy would have opened up borders straight away fearing for his property empire and his beloved tourism.

His only qualification to lead a country appears to be he is a billionaire. At least the General had some experience in the military, and was ready to lay his life for the country on account of actually serving in the forces. - No action taken on pollution. Will Chiang Mai be the most polluted city in the world next January. You bet it will. How can anyone be so disgusting to not take action? -Anything done to tackle the huge inequality of wealth from rich Thais (including himself) and the majority who are further down. Nothing at all. -International policies? Nope nothing. Going to France to ask for visa free access, only not to be aware France does not make it's border policy (it controlled as a collective by the European Union). Positives - He speaks English - He smiles alot. Which makes him palatable than an angry looking military guy.

She will have access to the best script writers in the business, but when it comes down to the live debates she will struggle. She is absolutely awful.

He's probably the worst PM Thailand has ever had. Billionaire property founder of Sansiri. My opinion : Completely deluded, and with no concept of what is going on on the ground, other than the sanitised clean up look he gets before arriving anywhere. Has achieved nothing, other than opening up the borders to the world and the problem that it will bring to Thailand, and the ensuing ecological tourist disaster. His obsession with tourism is alarming. Rather than trying to diversify the economy like Vietnam and Philippines have, he is just bunkered Thailand down to more years of addiction to cheap mass tourism, this time on steroids. His proclomations that Thailand should host international sporting events, have free visa access to France and Germany (even though those countries are bound by the European Union rules as a collective), hub proclomations, show an alarming child like naivity. He's achieved nothing of note. Even the General was better.

No one will loan Thailand money. The UK is like the Lannisters - it always pays it's debts.

Summariy - Thailand has opened it's borders. Bad news for local Thai's, and those who enjoy the beauty of Thailand. It will be an awful experience now.

Inflation is worldwide, and it is now controlled in the USA. This was inherited by Biden from the covid mess bailouts. The US economy is booming. We in the UK could only hope for the time of GDP growth they are getting yearly. The Dollar is also very strong, probably the most strongest currency over the past few years.

Watching the news and seeing the protests across Europe at mass tourism. I predict Thai citizens will soon by protesting following the policies of open door immigration by this lunacy leadership. You've already seen rents shoot up 50% in Phuket. When this starts hurting local Thais around Thailand that is when the lunacy policy will be seen for what it is. The DTV is going to attract the worlds biggest dross, backpackers with laptops, those hiding from military call ups, and criminals from around the world. Welcome to the new Thailand. Quality tourism? Nah, MASS CHEAP TOURISM.

Now can you imagine how hard it must be for local Thai's - who are also suffering. Thailand is not a developed nation that the government is inflicting this onto it's population.

Mass cheap tourism is turning Phuket into Pattaya. Phuket is no longer a paradise island type place - it's now a city with a beach. It's also awful with little to no infrustructure.

This visa is going to attract criminals too looking to get away.

Mass tourism. Something needs to be done. China and India, combinded population of nearly 3 billion people who are now actively travelling (although most very cheaply) - you can't have a scenario where they can just inflict enviromental damage to some of the most beautiful places in the world. For sure, those citizens have a rite to go visit the world, but there also needs to be some form of boundaries so you don't face an ecological crisis, the actual destinations decimated and sanitized. Thailand once a beautiful place, full of culture is now just a face to tourism - predominatly Chinese tourists.

Thailand is slowly becoming the United States of China. Has their been any railways line built into Thailand from China? Under the pretext it's for both ways, but reality it is to flood Thailand with cheap Chinese made products. Anyone know if this has happened, as has been done in other neighbouring countries?

I saw the annoucement on the news. Was just a bunch of Thai's sitting around a conference room. Didn't see any international attendees. Do you think it's just an excuse for a feast, some good food, and drinks in a social gathering ? These declarations are hillarious. What do you think will be the next hub?
