When Thailand scratches it's head and wonders why tourism numbers are falling - THE ANSWER STARES THEM IN THE FACE.

The issue with the DTV is it is not being used by remote workers. The intentions and those behind it (if you check who implemented it) was most likely to boost the condo market. It's being abused by criminals to stay longer. The cheap visitors who stay on it for a long time, are then going around searching for work. They are not remote workers. They are workers here. Those who could afford to stay here with savings had plenty of visa options before that. The people on it are abusing the system and using it to live here, then working. The thresholds are too low, and the fact there is no criminal record check is astonishing. Every country will have a criminal record check version. Even in India if you want to go work in airport there will be a relevant body that will get you a copy of your criminal record. You have regions like Phuket, Koh Samui, Pai, that were once tourists hot spots now effectively areas for Isrealis, Russians, Brits to come and live. They are no longer Thai. Vietnam demands one. Thailand does not. Why ?

Tourists do not want to visit crime ridden, violence, druggie places. It's why Phillipines struggles alot. Thailand once seen as safe, where tourists came and went. Now you have them staying and creative chaos.

Same same one year ago and nothing happened. THey simply must stop the criminal, benidorm Brits, violent druggies coming here and ruining Thailand - this puts of tourism. The irony being the whole policies of the previous administration to open up the borders to every man and their dog, to cheap tourist destinations, to allow people to stay longer has increased crime and seen a reduction in tourism. People come for Thai culture, not gentrification, condos (which i believe is what the policies were really intended for). This also harms hotels, as those staying two months go into airbnb type accomodation.

Stick to Benidorm.

No such thing as a digital nomad. These are just backpackers with a laptop.

Should the emphasis not be on TOTAL REVENUE rather than TOTAL NUMBER OF VISITORS. If you are letting in trash tourists, criminals, and low spend tourists from developing nations then it's pointless bragging about the number of tourists visiting. QUALITY OVER QUANTIY - but time and time again those in charge simply look at the total number. Thailand simply does not have the infrustructure to cope with the current numbers, never mind doubling it. All that happens is quality tourists go elsewhere, and you are left with trash.

These influencers have become a parody now. No one takes them seriously. Always revolve around the following : 1) Thailand is sooooooooooooooooo CHEAP. You can live in a 5 star luxury condo for two dollars a month. But just never video your room, just show common areas. 2) You can dine in michellin level food for 1 dollar a year. Don't forget to practise orgasm face when you took in. REALITY IS it's dishwasher water with raw pork. 3) Keep pushing areas where no one goes. Complete utter parody these days. Annoying too. SOME BEHAVE LIKE THEY CRACKED THE MATRIX

Not the issue. The marijuana laws have decimated Thailand in terms of repuatation. Mainly because it's being abused, and smuggling - especially by Bendirom Brits.

Other countries have caught on and investing heavily in tourism. Vietnam for one - very similar in style to Thailand. It's new. More historical. And very strict with policing, which asian countries want, as many view safety as the number one priority. Thailand has let in to many bendirom brits stay too long who don't intergrate and enjoy violence. Why would a chinese tourist want to see that? Then you have Indians. Nuff said.

If the are worried by the Baht turning away tourism - then perhaps they need to stop the dodgy money pouring in.

It would be nice to JD VANCE it with European leaders going to AMerica to lecture them on the out of control gun violence. Will there be drawings on the bullets with crayons ?

Did your life get better when they went home? If so, please explain. The polish are brilliant people. Great workers too. When i was studying in London, there were numerous Polish families. Everyone was hard working (proper hard grafters). One of them would come to our student homes even late night to carry out repairs. Try getting a local to do that and they wouldn't bother as the job would be too small to bother. Top people.

So your solution to job shortages that the UK people don't want to do is to increase the wages in these arenas, and decrease the hours make it more attractive i assume. What if the people still don't want to be doctors? I mean it pays handsome in America, but they have a shortage of doctors too. Will you get a whip out? How do you force Brits to go clean up after old people in care homes, or work on farms? You want to give them more wages and reduce hours rite? So who then pays for the huge wage increases? The tax payer rite? Are you on a pension and insulated from the costs? All because you don't want the brown guy to do it. RACIST FUNDAMENTALIST AT IT'S BEST.THE ECONOMICS OF A LOON.
