There will only be a coup if a certain country allows it. Times have changes. -
Tourism triumph: Can Thailand hit the 2.3 trillion baht jackpot?
DonniePeverley replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Cheap mass tourism wrecking this place. Instead of diversifying the economy, the country is back hooked on cheap tourism. Neighbouring countries have all diversyied their economies to much better success - see Vietnam. But not Thailand, always the easy option. No attempt made to clean it up and attract quality tourists. The enviromental disaster allowing so many people is a disgrace -
Chinese luxury property pitch in Bangkok angers Thai netizens
DonniePeverley replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
The open door immigration policy pushed by the current leadership, and allowing long term stays for the whole world - is going to push up rents massively. When local Thai's then suffer, the big business are going to have put wages up. Which is then pushed onto consumers. Everything was okay in Thailand, till they wrecklessly pushed these long term visa policies.- 73 replies

Bangkok Taxi Driver Faces Backlash for Not Using Meter

China have eradicated the problem by forcing drivers to have cameras in their cars. If you remove the camera the consequences are stiff. -
Calls for action on Chinese investments in Thailand
DonniePeverley replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Despite warnings Thailand agreed to build the bullet train service from China into Thailand. It's not for tourism, it's simply to allow exports to flood Thailand easier. They've done to this all neighbouring countries. They've given Chinese carte blanche to come and live in Thailand with all visa restrictions removed over the past year. Utterly ridiculous and shameful. -

How on earth do you Diet in Thailand ?
DonniePeverley replied to DonniePeverley's topic in General Topics
The crux is you could eat a few small meals, but they could be calorie laden. This is about LOSING WEIGHT, not maintaining. Calories here aren't really counted in restaurants or anywhere. In most western countries it's actually law to display the calorie content. -
Thailand's Tourism Surge Threatened by Zero-Dollar Chinese Tours
DonniePeverley replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
France is a major world economy, not a developing country. It attracts high quality spending tourists with it's control on visa restrictions. You won't see zero dollar tours in Paris. Secondly, a large majority of french visitors are spread out over many regions, eg Paris, the South of France, the Alps etc and spead over summer and winter months. -
Thailand's Tourism Surge Threatened by Zero-Dollar Chinese Tours
DonniePeverley replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Revenue from tourism is down. It's been an absolute disgrace to relax all visa rules for Indian tourists and Chinese tourists. I know many quality high spending tourists who are seeking other destinations as Thailand is only looking at cheap mass tourism. -

How on earth do you Diet in Thailand ?
DonniePeverley replied to DonniePeverley's topic in General Topics
I did Ozempic. As soon as i stopped my cravings for food went into over drive, and put the weight straight back in a few months. Literally my body was craving food every minute. -
.... as in trying to lose weight, not maintaining. Calories aren't a major weapon used here - unless you look to buy heavily processed ready made meals. I was eating a single Pad Kaprao a day for a week, and some fruit on the evening. Didn't lose anything. Went behind the scenes to see how this Pad Kaprao was being made (under the guise of being a good customer). My goodness this isn't some healthy meal, little bit of chicken mixed into some spicy veg and some rice. Hell no. Instead the volume of oil used was enough to burn a building. She then proceeds to add 20 large spoons (i literally lie to you not) of sugar, followed by endless volume of a salt called MGM. So you think that's it ... no there were more. Once finished she began to put some butter into it, a proper massive lump !!!!! The sheer volume of salt and MSG put into the rice was astonishing. I came away thinking this isn't just some minor small meal. This is a one hell of a calorie laden meal. My question is to you all ... how on earth do you count calories here and lose weight ?

Kuwaiti man assaulted in Phuket after insulting Thais (video)
DonniePeverley replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
There seems to be a sort of mini invasion of Kuwaiti's in Phuket. Firstly why is this happening, as far as i am aware the Kuwaiti passport allows travel to most regions around the world. Secondly there behaviour (along with Russians) is appalling, very arrogant. Are they like this back in Kuwait ? -
They've removed all border restrictions for Chinese. Even allowing them now to stay here for 5 years pretty much with the new visa. They're building bullet trains from China into Thailand. Which judging by other countries only benefits China dumping more products into Thailand.
