Expect Increase in COVID-19 Cases as School Term Approaches
I am slightly confused as to your point. How do you plan on stopping 'continuous' infections?

Worlds most inefficient a/c system in my condo
In the past i've made posts querrying why my electricity bill was often coming at 7000 baht a month. Before i arrived in Thailand i was constantly fed the narrative 'Thailand so cheap' nonsense by influencers so the reality was disappointing. Well i got some answers (sort of) today by one of the agents of the property - and it all boils down to my air conditioning system. For clarification i do stay in a lovely condo. You see this air conditioning system is built into the ceiling/wall, as a decorative feature - so you have no actual physical box in your room. An example would be the system you see in a decent hotel. These i was told look very lovely, but cost much more to run. And yes they certainly do !!! Secondly i querried why even when my ambient room temperature is met the system continues to blow air into my room. I was told because this system will continue to run air into your room as an automatic feature (with no ability to turn this option off), even if the temperature is met - albeit the fans out door will not be running when temperature is met. The agent wasn't fully sure why this was, and proceeded to do more research on it as it didn't make any sense to him either. Anyways, there you have an explanation as to why my electricity bills are so expensive. I have the worlds most beautiful air conditioning system, without an ugly box in the room, albeit an absolute scandal to run.

PM Srettha: 2025 a "Big Year" for Tourism
Are there any plans for infrustructure spending on roads, new transport methods in these tourists zones? Will Phuket get some form of light tram system of sorts? Pattaya ? What about a proper rail link to Pattaya from Bangkok ?

Open a bank account on a tourist visa for the purpose of buying a condo (Not Bangkok Bank)
Do not risk this.

Tourism Industry Backs Reinstatement of 300 Baht Tourist Fee
600 Baht will have no effect. Built it into the ticket. Secondly, they must reinstate visa fees for Chinese and Indians.

Frozen pension policy turns British expat's dream into a nightmare
Firstly they are not expats. They are immigrants. Secondly, most of these pensioners are Brexit voting, so they have to carry some consequences rather than thinking they are untouchable.

Thai airports to expand for tourism boost
Is that 80 million a year or 80 million with 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027 ? If they are aiming for 80 million a YEAR that would be a disgrace. They can barely cope at the moment with 40 million a year. EDIT - just seen they are actually aiming for 80 million tourists a year !!!!!!!! WOW. That is nuts

Thai airports to expand for tourism boost
How much more BOOST do they need? They already have over 40 million tourists a year ?!

Officials Concerned Over Potential Overcrowding in Pattaya and Phuket
Pattaya now has many domestic tourists - that once would never venture there.

Officials Concerned Over Potential Overcrowding in Pattaya and Phuket
Something surely needs to be done about the Chinese busses. They need route organising, so they can't just go down a tite soi and block everything in it's path.

Thailand offers visa-free travel to Russian visitors for 3 months
Utterly ridiculous statement. New Zealand gave visa free travel to Thailand many years ago, and was packed full of Thai's who would not go back. For example, if the USA gave free visa travel to Thailand, you would see an exodus in Thailand on mass .

Officials Concerned Over Potential Overcrowding in Pattaya and Phuket
The huge busses going down little soi's are back. Utterly ridiculous they take these routes.

Officials Concerned Over Potential Overcrowding in Pattaya and Phuket
It was naive insanity to panic and wave visas for Chinese and Indians. Chinese tourism has returned to normal everywhere around the world, around the same time it has started to pick up in Thailand. The fees they must have lost to waiving Chinese visas is astronomical. 2000 x 10 million is incredible. And it was needlesly waived for no reason. Before the pandemic the government wanted quality tourism over quantity primarily because locals were becoming angry. But new government comes in, and just reverses everything and just lets in a free for all. It will only get worst.

PM Explores Hosting Formula One Race in Bangkok
Thailand does host 40 million (MAINLY LOW QUALITY) tourists, but it's questionable if it has the infrustructure.

PM Explores Hosting Formula One Race in Bangkok
There's a grand Prix in Singapore - going to be very hard to get them to bring a race to Thailand due to that proximity. When Malaysia couldn't financially do it anymore, it went to Singapore. Singapore are not going to give it up. Whilst there is a bidding process to get a grand prix, you have to have high class 5 star facilities, an infrustructure in place for visitors and delegations. I can't see them allowing a grand prix where the moment you set foot of a plane a taxi driver will rip you off.

Thailand faces a decline in British tourists and expats: Causes and Consequences
Quantity of tourists over Quality.

Thailand once was the place, now dirty beaches, bad air, cheapo tourists
Cheap mass tourism is a disgrace. There was no need for it. After covid they vowed to reset things, and attract quality tourism. Clean up the bad practises, improve standards to five start levels. Instead new leadership comes in - back to mass cheap tourism, this time on steroids.

What insurance policy do i need?
My daughter is studying here in Thailand, so my partner has an O visa. I am unable to get one as only one partner is allowed. I have work back in the USA, so i still travel back there - so i usually just arrive in Thailand on visa exempt and head back to America before 30 days. Now we did have travel insurance. But what insurance should i be looking at ? Especially my partner and daughter? What about myself who is only here on visa exempts ? Also some advice on pre exisiting conditions in regards to policies here?

Safest country during WWIII?
New zealand wasn't that safe, as the threat of invasion from Japan was very real at the time. Furthermore, you were most likely to be called up into the military to fight for the UK. Best place would have been in South America - as you were far from everything, and not really involved enough to be called into a draft.

The dark secrets of Thailand’s elephant tourism industry
I've never believed for a minute in the marketting gimmick of 'sancturys' for these elephants. It's just clever marketing, makes tourists believe they are doing some good because the word 'sanctury' is used, and they don't SEE the chains, and they aren't riding them. Reality is, no one knows what happens when the tourists go home if the elephants are treated well or not.
