  1. By removing the visa fee, you really are losing a big chunk of income. It's a big investment, especially for Chinese. Imagine 20 million tourists now not paying a fee to enter.
  2. They would have done that anyways. They can get a visa on arrival. Compared to many other nationalities i am noticing how horny these Indian guys are - it is next level. I predict Pattaya will become a very big Indian town, catering majorly to them. You already see now on Walking Street the number of Indian clubs.
  3. Where on earth are you getting 100 B foot massages?
  4. I understand what you mean, and my sympathy to the owners. But you had to realise this still central pattaya - you are risking things 'asking for peace and quiet'.
  5. You can't buy a condo next to a party zone then complain about parties.
  6. I doubt they are old AC units as the condo is only a few years old. We paid the piper but still damn confused !
  7. The meter is on the floor in each room. But the door is locked. Will demand to see the meter.
  8. Thanks for all the advice here guys. We will take up some points - 1) Turn of power at main, and see if meter is still moving. 2) Condo is brand new, only 2 years old. 3) Will get a/c units cleaned. 4) We were just given a bill, and paid at 7/11
  9. Yeah this is higher than my UK bill ! Damn TikTok fooled me again with the 'everything cheap in Thailand' again.
  10. We use 'normal amounts of electricity', nothing ridiculous - TV, and two air conditioning units as we in a two bedroom (but very little during the day), washing machine and now and again use the stove. Bill came to nearly 7000 Baht for the full month. This is on par with UK levels. Is this about rite or should i go figure something out >?
  11. Pretty much in central zones, malls, it is quite big. There was a big thing around Siam this weekend. But outside these areas i barely notice anything.
  12. Wait till they see what's in Phuket.
  13. Can anyone summarise these past 123 pages in about two lines as to what is going on ?
  14. Yes because Thailand itself doesn't exploit workers from other countries do they ?
  15. Actually what a lot do is actually look to stay open in any way they can.
  16. I have a better idea - when it gets to 10pm, simply turn the clocks back 4 hours, so we go back to 6pm. And we can then get 4 hours more shopping in . We just sleep a little less.
  17. Not all are wearing it for pollution. If that was the case pre covid you would have seen a large percentage where it back then, but that wasn't the case. You have people wearing masks cos their is still a worry about covid (alot of the Thai population is still immune), some even wear it as a sun filter, and hell some even wear it cos they haven't done their make that morning - and some DO worry about the pollution. I'm thinking of getting a mask this week again.
  18. Localised pollution from vehicles especially is horrific. You won't get that much UPCOUNTRY.
  19. What specific music is stopping you from simply downloading something like youtube - and downloading the music, so you can listen to them without any wifi or data? All you need is an account with them.
  20. Most bars will start serving a few hours early anyways - but most won't be serving during the day.
  21. Roast chicken dinner is actually rather healthy. White chicken or Turkey, vegetables, some mash, yorkshire puddings ... ? The problem i find is the yorkshire puddings they make here - they look and taste like Bricks. They also can't do gravy. And roast chicken dinners with the skin on - WTF is that about. Who eats SKIN !?
  22. Nothing wrong with white meats like Chicken. Avoid red meats.
  23. This. Bangkok is a great culinary city, but it cannot replicate the great ole British roast dinner. I miss a Toby Carvery !
  24. Once Chinese numbers return to normal - that could go up to 40 million. Begs the question then why they needed to stimulate Chinese tourists by losing out on all that visa fees they were getting from them.
  25. Would be interesting to see Putin in Phuket and see the volume of Russians out there.
